Supercar Festival Restrictions

The Tommy Kaira ZZII is one of my favorite GT cars and I love stomping LM cars with it. I thought it would be the perfect choice for dominating the Supercar Festival race in the Pro League. But to my surprise I was unable to race with it because it violated the Car Type restriction for Production Cars only. This might have passed until I raced with a S7 and was amazed to find myself racing against a ZZII.

So does anyone know if this is just a fluke and if it is possible to use the ZZII in that race??

Same thing for the Audi Nuvolari and the Golf HPA. Since they are not production cars, they can not be entered in this championship.

That's perfectly normal. It's with the Cien in that cup too. You race against it, but you can't race with that car there. Same for 80s & 90s Cup in Japanese Hall, you have a Celica from 91 against you, but you can't use that car. So, just live with it, and use another car. There's no way you can enter that cup with a Tommy Kaira ZZII if it violates the rules. Just use a stock Ford GT '05, it's a challenge at the city courses, and you can win with that car, and the GT '05 is lovely too.:)

so what is the bestcar to use in the dream car championship

I used the Ford GT LM Spec II Race Car '04. Had some good races against the Zonda Race Car and had a good race against the other GT LM Spec II on the Test Course.:)

yeah, I had this exact problem, competed with the Cien on most enduros and got really really good driving with the setup, then couldn't use it! I got stomped the first few times I A-Spec'd with my Saleen S7... by a Caddy Cien! :banghead:

I think the Cien is a worthless car.. Can't drive with it, I don't like the car.:P But I've beaten it with my Ford GT '05, unmodified.:) It's really nice with the Ford GT '05, it really gives you a challenge, specially on the city courses, the closed circuits are easy to win.:)

I just stomped the Supercar Festival last night with my Pagani Zonda S.I tuned it to about 750hp or so,but the most important part was the close-ratio tranny and clutch and flywheel change. That, and some camber on the rear wheels, and they didn't stand a chance. The Tommy Kaira gave me a run on one track, and the Nardo on the final race when I started losing my tires, but other than that,no problem.I didn't much care for the Zonda until I tuned it right...now it is a great car to drive and almost as fast as the JGTC and Touring cars.

I almost cried when I couldn't enter the events with the ZZII. Its been my favorite car since GT3. The thing that got me the most is when I was doing the races, I got smoked in the 3rd race by a ZZII!!! :grumpy:
I was about to snap the GT4 cd into pieces, but luckily the voices in my head talked me outta it. 👍

I really wish this game was a lot clearer when it comes to restrictions, and also how 'tuned' the AI cars will be that you will race against.

I spent a fortune tuning a BMW M Coupe for the German league in Pro only to be told I couldn't use it, then had to race against one! So if I can use a 330i, why not a 3.2 litre coupe?

Also, the Cien did my head in in the supercars - I was going to use it and then couldn't, then got spanked by one in the race!

What really gets my goat is to turn up to a race in a stock car and find out it's a 200 pointer, then have to exit out through loads of screens to get to the tuning shop and spec the car up in order to be able to race competitively. It wouldn't kill PD to have some kind of info screen at the start of a series that tell you what kind of HP range the AI is using. I'm sure in real life that Schumacher etc. have a pretty good idea of what the competition has in terms of performance!!

I absolutely shredded the Supercar Festival with my lightened but otherwise bone stock S7. The only thing I did was change the ballast weight to help with trail braking.

I used a lightly modded Yellow Bird for this race. I bought the most expensive exhaust and maybe a chip. Also:

For this race I used the XJ220 LM. Ran it completely stock, no oil change, and had a good challenge against the Zonda Race Car, 'cept I got destroyed at la Sarthe and the Test Track.

For the Supercar Festival, I used a Ford GT ('05). I added a wing (max downforce) and tuned the suspension a little bit, but once I got it to drive well it was pretty fun to drive, even on the required sports tires. The brakes still suck, though.

The Cien is kind of a boat, but it is an interesting car to drive.

I have a question, though - has anyone tried the VW Nardo in this race, and if so, is it also excluded? I would imagine it would be considering it's a concept car, like the Cien. Not like it matters or anything (the GT with only an oil change and other non-hp upgrades I used won easily), it just gives us ANOTHER car that the CPU can beat us with, but we can't use.

I just cant beat the supercar festival, I have a ford Gt('05) a Saleen S7 and a Zonda, can anyone tell me which mods i can get which will still let me enter the race.

Edit- I figured it out for myself, but I still cant beat the last race, It seems I need a new car or 2.

Hello all,
The ZZ-II has been my favortie car since GT3...
It almost looks like a Ferrari and is a has a mean, slick look!!
It is VERY fast, has an AWD configuration...B/C FR config'ed cars are the best handlingall around cars I like to buy the VCD controller and put settings for it to handle like an FR...
It certainly is an OUTSTANDING car...
Soldout, I'm greiving with you...but now I don't need to greive anymore...I've beaten GT4 all the way and have a total of 687 cars in my garage:D
No cheats, just plain beat it...and I'm PROUD of it...
Just use another car...and wait for another challenging race that will let your ZZ-II in :)

so what is the bestcar to use in the dream car championship

Don't know if it's the "best" but I used a Callaway C7. I did have to mod it to beat the Ford GT '05 but I was gonna do that anyway so :)

I added the full driveline mods (gearbox, clutch, flywheel, LSD), racing brakes, a wing, and soft tires. I also did Stage I lightening but I didn't really need to (won Infineon by 30 secs).

No HP added. Played with gear ratios and downforce depending on the circuits.

My personal rule of thumb is not to add HP until I've done all the suspension and driveline and not to spend more on a car than I can win in a series. It's just to make it difficult - gotta drive the thing to win.

Yes, that is correct. It's considered a violation to use the Nardo W12.

What's the whole list?

Nardo
Cien
ZZII
Novulari
Audi LeMans
Any considered racing vehicle
Any 'Tuner Car' Like the Buick.👎

See, what gets me is the fact that I can't use my Buick Special, yet I can easily whoop them in my 525 horse Stingray. Yo PD, WTH?

you cant use race cars in the dream car championship

The Dream Car Championship is all racecars.

You're thinking of the Supercar Festival.

Yeah, I thought this was annoying as well. I think I endd up doing it in a lightly modded...well actually it was 700hp+ SLR.

The Tamora with full mods has 537hp and weighs only 932 kilos. It beats the pants off every car in that race so configured- just season it to taste if you want to win but not have a cake walk. :) They are kinda pricey for a S2000 on steriods, but it handles very well on S3 tires.

[edit] er I meant S3 F & S2 R.

I used a brand new Ford GT '05, Midnight Blue Clearcoat Metallic.

Mods: Oil Change + racing medium tires + all NA engine mods.

Drove very nicely, didn't have much trouble that I remember.

The color is what makes the difference :dopey:
