I have tried just about every car in my garage that has any performance to it. My 350Z LM race car is about as close as I can come to just keeping up with the other car, but in the end I can't. I have a WRX STi prototype that I won, but the most hp. I can get out of that car is 497. Many of the other cars I have just can't keep up.
I'd like to know what you guys have used to win this race? I have spent way too many hours prepping and racing, then losing this race. I just can't come up with the correct combination.

Try the 350z but put racing Super Softs, since theres no tire wear.
You should win easily with that.
If you're nervous about spending 50k on tires just do the race 3 times.

I thought about trying the super soft tires on my 350Z, but settled for just the soft tires. I'll give the other ones a try.

As for the 86/87 rally cars, I've won some of those. I just didn't think with ~420 hp. they could even compete. Worth a shot.

And I don't have 4.5M Cr. for a Nissan R392 or Toyota GT-1. I know those would do the trick, but I only have 60K Cr. and about 1.5M in cars in my garage.

C'mon Audi R8?! That'll be too easy! Well, I guess if you want the easiest. I recommend a rally car or something with 4WD. With RWD you may oversteer alot. If you can drift good, then go ahead. I used the STi Spec-C tuned all the way.

If your past 25%, race the El Capitan enduro, and use the car you win. Or win the Fuji endurance, and use the R92CP. Either of the 24h races will give you a capable car. Any other group c/LMP (Audi R8, R89, GT-One etc) will win.

My personal pick is the Chaparral 2J. It costs 1.25million, but wins by 15+seconds, and gets 200 a-spec points. The same goes for the Zonda LM, and some people have even done it in the Dodge Ram for 200pts. You can use super-softs, as there is no tire wear.

Try the Lancia Delta S4 with and/or without extra turbo boost. Easy 200 a-spec points.

I tried using the stock Lancia Delta S4 against a Audi R8 but didn't fare too well. I fully upgraded it and was amazed that the race was still 200 a-spec points.

Three letters: LMP.

Chances are you'll be agaisnt the C9 Mercedes, so you're going to need another Le Mans car. But the prize car you get is a bit of a dud.

It's been said in this thread but is worth repeating: The Chaparral 2J (the one that looks like a washing machine or doorstop) in the Tsukuba Wet Hard race wins comfortably. I spun off and still won easily. And it's 200 a-spec points.

Did this in my Subaru Impreza Spec C Tuned to the max and won 200 points against the Minolta Toyota... He has the speed but not the cornering...

Blasted past him on the 2nd hairpin... didn't see him again til I'd finished... somewhat disappointing really as I was expecting a challenge for my first 200 point race!

hehe... i've won the "normal" one with a 114bhp Honda s800 (not the racing car)
The simple trick is just to have some r-tires and simply brake past the other car, it's so easy! :sly: the AI doesn't know what to do, as usual :dunce:

Don't pick a heavy car with bad grip and RWD, don't be a noob and pick a racecar or use NOS, it takes a good r32 or something like that

My Zonda LM Race Car With Super softs will win easily or will it be tough?.. Even thought i have a Zonda LM I am Quite new to gt4. Althought i have played all other Gts :<
I want a wheel coz i got to use a stupid Joypad. Any know the best wheel?

Okay, I've installed the super soft tires on my 350Z LM race car and am doing well. I just haven't finished AHEAD of the opponent. He never has more than about 5 seconds on me. I just need to run the car more to get used to it in the rain now. Like I said, I'm only at 500 hp. so the car isn't really a monster on this track. The opponent pulls away from me on the long straight, but I seem to be able to out-corner him most of the time. I've also been doing this in auto mode, not manual. This has been nearly the only race I've ran in auto, so I think it's time to change that part...

Finally. After 3 races today I finally beat that race. I adjusted the transmission so it was more appropriate for this track, and I could easily pace him on the straight, but out-cornered him. I believe the car was the Audi R8.

What I'm disappointed in is the winning car. I like the Ford GT, but it's a freaking concept car and has no value. This was my main purpose for running this race--for the car value. Oh well, maybe I'll be able to tune it far along and win a bunch of other races.

Thanks for the suggestions in helping me win this race, guys!

I did it in my most recent attempt in an au CERUMO Supra(stock w/ oil change). I ran using racing medium tires, and maxed downforce. I won by 00.00.703 over the 88C-V (known as the MINOLTA to many people here), and was awarded 200 a-spec points. 👍

NOTE: the JGTC rides have more downforce than a CLK GTR, Panoz, BMW McLaren F1, and Zonda LM race car when maxed out. So you ought to have an easier time with a JGTC ride than any of the above. But, if you're really having trouble, then any Group C or LMP ought to do the trick.
