Ben (icemanshooter23) seems to have started a trend when he asked me to PM him his original submitted time for the qualifier in order to run it again and see how much he had improved over the past 40 weeks.

So since I'm the one who knows everybody's time, I thought that I had to set up a little leaderboard that would show, for those who a) fancy the idea b) PM me their new time, the gap between the original qualifying time and the new time, and the division they would have been placed in with this new time.
Here we go :

Note :
The leaderboard shows the time saved by racers from the biggest saved time to the smallest one, and it does not reflect the lap times themselves.
 
I was shocked that I almost beat my previous mark by 3 seconds! WRS really makes you faster, this morning I was bored so I decided to go for all Golds on special licence, got the 12 I needed in about an hour. (Except for the Coffee Break, that's just gay).

See don't lose hope all Division 3'ers. Just give it 9 months and 30+ weeks of WRS and you'll be setting D1 times too. :lol:
 
Just took another .402 off! So that makes it 1.661 seconds quicker than my submitted time... and I'm now in alien territory, only .153 from the top time set by 3rdgen! :mischievous: :eek: :crazy: :sly:

Why dont you do a big stab at it and get a time you think is great 1st, before you see 3rdgens time 👍

That's very very possible, however I have a new goal myself of beating 3rdgen's time now that I've gotten this close. My time is currently worth 5th overall, only .005 ahead of Dan, so I'm sure he can step it up a notch or two and remove some more tenths 👍
 
This is off subject for the most part but I've got to mention it...

When I totalled my car just recently (in real life), I was at the scene of the accident and the question of "how far were we from the stop-light behind us" came up.

I estimated 100 yards.
The other guy estimated 300 yards.

I said, hey, I'll ask the cop, hold on. 👍

I walked over to the cop and said "excuse me officer, but how far are we from the stop light"?

He looked in his side view mirror and said "ah, maybe 200 yards?"

I actually looked at a cop and said, you know, objects in the mirror are closer than they appear.

He didn't pay me much mind but I had this odd feeling afterwards. :lol:

Hmm, would you consider that the best you can do, or is there still more to go get? You're in a completely different time bracket, all on your own now 👍

And like Colby said, the gap has just ballooned big time! 0.947 seconds to go find now, crappers...
 
theres maybe .15 to get if u nail the last corner, but unlikely, it was a cool lap
 
I'd be interested knowing 3rdgen's time too if anyone has time to send a PM.

It's really a great combo this, maybe one day we can do this as a combo? Have we done this version of Infinion yet in the WRS? I remember doing the other version ages ago in the superbird.

Another few little challenges that you can try.

Beat the best time from Week 1
Beat the time from your first race.
 
Since i liked that combo very much and also i waned to see if i made any progress i re-done this lap. My new time surpassed my all expectations o_O
Since I do not have ARMax i have all my replays still on my MC. (2kb free space now :P) So i already know for how much better lap i did.
I was exacly: 2.159 faster, i hope that flat-out will confirm that. There is still about 0,2 in this lap cos i made last turn really slow (i was nervous that i have such a good lap and i didnt waned to loos it :/) I wonder if my new time was sufficient for D2...
Probably i will own ARMax in about 2weeks and than i will post all my replays along with this one.

In overal im happy that all that time sacrificed for GT4 since 04.2005 wasnt lost ;-)

Nice job you've been doing there, I'm tempted to run the Qualifier again :D

@ villainpl : your replays will be welcome, except the one for the qualifier since we are not allowed to mention the time on this race.

I just updated my spreadsheet with holl01's time, and it's 0.75 faster than 3rdgenracerX time ! :eek:
 
Well this has been somewhat of an achillies heel to me from day 1 ... even 6 months after joining the WRS, I only shaved off .2 with this combo. Today, however, things are somewhat different. I'm over 1.2 seconds faster and can see more time to spare. It still puts me .1 outside the D2 cut off (after a few laps), but I can defintively hit the mark in a few more laps, I'm sure.

I guess the WRS is paying off at last!

EDIT: Whoohoooo .7 below the Div 2 cut off mark. It may not seem like much, but I've never been able to improve at this combo and fought for just .2 only 6months ago. Now I just murdered my time by over 2 seconds. YAY!
 
I am guessing we are all benchmarking our times with respect to 3rdgenerationX's, because he set the fastest one for Division 1, back when the Qualifier was run for the first time, correct?

Anyway, I might give this a shot, too, and see how much I have improved, since I had the idea of doing it for quite some time, anyway.

It's too bad I just switched to the DFP, so my new and improved (hopefully) time will not be too improved, as most of my skills are still held captive by the infamous DS2 controller.

I just hope I can come up with something Division 1 worthy :D

Anyway, since it seems that everybody here knows more about this Qualifier than I do, I appeal to my right of knowing, too ;)

What are the cut-off times for Division 3, 2 and 1? Why does everybody knows them except for me? :(

I don't want to know 3rdgenerationX's time, yet. So, please, whoever decides to be kind enough to PM me the information, leave his time out of the message. I want to have a go at the Qualifier with just my own time and my own skills in mind.

The time is relative to your original qualifing time. So I went 2.974 seconds faster then I back at week 8 when I started. I don't know (or can't remember), the cut-offs either, the only people who do are the ones that kept that message that placed you in a division when you first started.

3rdgenerationX's time isn't the fastest now anyway, I think hol killed it on his rerun.
 
The problem is that I never received the cut off times, when I first "registered" for the WRS.

Hence my request.
