BALLS! I had a 2'59.5xx and a couple of 2'59.8xxs that were JUST dirty...

It kills me not to have broken that 3' barrier... Oh well.

Casio, FUNNY! You broke the big minute barrier alright! Though you had beaten me as well...

Jerome, guess you were too "preoccupied" to race or post again. Ah to be young and single... ;^)

Great race, wish I could've put it all together. Great time there Dan!

-SHig

Heh, just realized... PODIUM FOR SHIGSPEED! Woohoo! I was so bummed with the non 3' and silver that I had failed to realize the significance! Sweet...

p.p.s Sure wish we could have raced to T6 this week as well... Had shockwave by a half second to lose 0.8" to him on the last segment! Well driven man. Also, I sure felt like the Mazda was faster this week. What was the top speed seen by any Audi guy? I saw 238 mph I think (383 kph).

I really enjoyed the race, but it was kinda unclear as to what the classes would be. I feel like if there would've been other categories (besides the ultimate best time, for instance, in the Audi R8's), it would've been more fun. You hinted at other classes on page 10 of the original thread, saying JGTC, Under 600, Over 600, etc., and I feel that would've been beneficial to have on the front page, along with taking user submissions for other possible classes. But overall, it was a lot of fun! :D

Wow, I thought ballstothewall would win Div 2, I thought he had a 3'03.150. Hmm, I'm 5th overall, not too bad :)

Congratz to holl01 and shockwaveracing for getting sub 3'00.000 and bigrew for getting a time that could have been 2nd in Div 2.

I will have my replay up as soon as I can get on my other computer.

oh and SHig, the highest I ever saw was a 234 down the first stretch of the mulsanne

Here is my replay
First time uploading a replay :P. tell me if it doesn't work

SChweet! I didn't have the time/energy/concentration to have a go in the Audi last night... So the Nardo was my fastest. But, where's Kent?!

Anywho, can't wait for the rest of the results with the other categories... :)

Great race, everybody 👍

I got another silver :D
Better than I expected.

I really enjoyed the race - voted for the highest possible.

Later.

The Wizard.

Hey Curtis,

Noticed that you voted "Totally Crap" on this one. No splits that I can remember and no submitted times...

So, other than being a GT mode race, care to elaborate on why you voted that way?

I figured that at the very least, having two weeks to spread out your tuning time (if you didn't chose to use an established setup like Dan's) would somewhat ease your distaste for anything but Arcade races on N tires (okay, probably too sweeping a generalization...).

I thought this week was a great race with one of probably three cars being able to win it outright. Add to that the free-for-all name your own class aspect, you'd've been free to throw down the gauntlet and challenged the best to a lap in an N tired Yellowbird for giggles.

Hopefully you can participate in this week's race. I'd still be interested in your first hour's worth of replays if you're still willing to offer them so I can see how you manage to go so fast so quickly.

Anyway, I look forward to some splits soon!

Um yeah, to say the least been pretty busy...lol. Great racing guys, after I spent one entire hour on this combo I got a 3:06.1xx in the R8. I did really love this combo too, love racing it at Bobkarts. Everyone's got their kryptonite, mine wears a bra :ouch:

Jerome

Hey,

congrats to shockwave racing for grabbing a nice sub 3 min time aswell, and to the other poduim finishers who found time to compete:tup:

i enjoyed the challenge of setting up these fast cars.

:sly:

I think a sub 4 minute for an open-top road car is not bad.

My best time with the Audi was a 3'06. But I was using the wheelie trick down the straights, problem was the corners....

ShigSpeed

I saw 253MPH :sly:

Flat-O
3'20.509 - StevenDeRuig (Sauber C9)
That interesting...considering the Sauber has 940hp standard...(987! with oil change)

Edit: Been B-Specing the Sauber to see if I can wear it below 850. Checked at 50 laps of test track, it's gone down from 987 to 940...

Another 50 laps, it's still at 940. That's near 700 miles. It's not going down to below 850...But I'll keep it running for another hour

i have a feeling my lap may be on the illegal side i will post a replay of it just to make sure, if someone can verify for me, and if it is can i have my time removed from the results... i have looked at it and i am doubtful, going on what was said at the start of the thread about areas that can be used...

would be a pity if it is illegal coz i had a 3'00.087, which still would have given me second place (and that lap was clean)... :indiff:

I'll take a look now. Which part am I looking out for?

Well I knew my Audi lap was craptacular but like I mentioned earlier in the week, me and fast cars just don't get along.

Some of my other laps are pretty groovy though, I was pretty happy with a couple of them but without focusing on one, none of them are really close enough to the limit. Whatever the case, I enjoyed the freedom to choose. Here are my laps

Ok Shockwave. I think your replay may be illegal in 3 places.

First - The very first corner, the left part of the chicane, you had all 4 wheels behind the rumble strip.

Second - Probably not, as I think the rule was you are allowed to go on the red tarmac as long as it's not behind the rumble strip. But on the right corner straight after T1, you had all 4 wheels on the red tarmac.

Third - The last chicane, again you went behind the rumble strip.

I'm not 100% sure of the rules this week, so I think someone else should check the replay and the rules before making a decision.

You can be on the red with all four wheels as long as there's no rumble strip. If there's a rumble strip, you have to have at least two wheels on them. And then for the last chicane, and maybe some other places, if you have at least two wheels on the rumble, AND/OR the green area behind them, you're in the clear. So, if the first chicane has the green areas, which I think it might, it might actually be all clean...

Not bad I suppose, should have spent more time on it though...

I don't bloody well believe what's just happened!:banghead: :ill:

Am really chuffed with all the times I submitted, especially the R8 time, had 6 replays lined up on my memory card ready to be transfered and posted.

I insert the max drive disk, plug in the pen-drive, set the 6 replays off transfering........and the electric goes off!

I have a UPS on the pc, but the ps2's not plugged into it.

Less than a minute later the power's back, turn the ps2 back on, only to find a partially scrambled memory card, and only 4 of the replays have safely got to the pen-drive.

Unfortunately the R8 replay isn't one of them!

I know that as Cyril hasn't flagged me up to post my replay, so it's not that bad.

But I really wanted to post it, I am very happy with the time, and the lap was VERY clean. Even to the extent that I only ever put 2 off and two nearly on the rumble (ie stradled the strip) once and that was on the exit of the first chicane on the straight (so clean that it's probably why I didn't get a 3'03.xxx like coolgeeks thought I had)

So if my time has to be removed or un-officialised then so be it.

Not a happy camper!:grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy:

I'll edit this post with the surviving replays when I have calmed down a bit.
Edit:
bloody power's gone off twice more in the last 20 mins, they must be working on the sub-station!
At least I have a copy of the Uber-save on the hard-drive, so all's not lost.

Uh, wow. That's most certainly dirty, no question about it. Second picture's clean, but the rest, not even close...?

And, if you didn't change the oil on the Sauber, it'd be even lower, but I don't know if that matters when it gets all the way down to it's min hp or not...

Really tough situation, Shockwave... I really hate to advance a position due to a DQ especially since your fastest clean lap still beats mine.

If it makes you feel any better, my 2'59.5xx was dirty, but still cleaner than your fast lap... <shrug>

Yes, bring on Week 46, but in my initial DS2 shakedown, I'm not looking so good so you'll probably flail me good this week! :^)

Sure wish I had a PAL disc so I could watch Dan's smokin' replay! <hint hint!>

get it too 8500 miles and don't change the oil, it will be below 850

congrats to all 👍
Some great times

Didn't have much time to run this combo, as the knee went out the first day I had a chance to run it :ouch: Suprised my time held up:yuck: LOL

I finally figured out how to attach :)
that only took a few weeks :dunce: :)
