Few submissions this week : it seems that except for a dozen freaks the race was too long to fit in the weekly format. Congrats to all those who submitted a time, and especially to Francisco for his overall win.

 :dopey: :)

whoo-hoo that´s great, the holiday for labor´s day was really great then. had time for a quite long session on monday night... i knew it was a good time, and hopefully was enough...

2 wins in the last 3 weeks i play. and the other was 2nd. i´m loving that, i feel like i´m getting better:)

anyway, it was a great race... to bad not a lot of drivers submitted a time... i guess the experince with endurances paid off.

big congrats to all who took part in this race... goyxoie with the win... and... shouldn´t be neil with the win in div2? i mean isen´t dr watson div1 now? anyway, congrats for those 2:crazy:

i´ll upload my replay later tonight, i´m pretty sure its a small file

very happy right now:dopey: :dopey: :dopey:

Congrats to the mighty drivers participating on this lengthy challenge, especially AngelCreator and goixoye representing D3. :D

well done on ur victory fasj8, wish i knew ur time/splits as i would have run some more laps, i could have easily beaten that time as my first 4 laps were ****ty

oh yeah, magic monday... or late monday i should say... so it was a last minute effort like most of the time... but just out of curiosity, i´ll get the splits when i can...

EDIT:

monday was a holiday here, but i´m pretty sure it was holiday in most parts of the world right? labor´s day... that´s why i was able to play instead of the 2 weeks i was asking for earlier in the week.

Both wins we never even knew you were playing until the results ;).

thats about the only way to beat Dan it seems.:dopey:, what Dan dont know, dan cant beat

Congrats on your win, and congrats to everyone who submitted a time

Well apart from 2 seconds on the final few corners I thought I gave this practically everything I had, nice work on the usual suspects giving me an a$$whooping :sly: Here's my replay, as requested and as usual 👍

Congrats to all who participated in what was a very enjoyable challenge!

Here's my replay, which I have checked and checked and checked, and found that on L1 I put 3 wheels slightly onto the grass BEFORE the final chicane. And I do mean slightly!
And again on L7, in exactly the same place.

Neither time am I cutting the corner as it is before the corner starts, so I think it would be very harsh to call it a shortcut, and as on both occasions, no time was gained (I would have been going the same speed through the corner whether i was an inch or so to the right or not) the worst I would call both was a slight off. Which are allowed by the rules.

Also on the first lap the yellow car rubs off my left-rear quarter, but there is no impact noise, and in-fact it slowed me down slightly, so that should be OK too!

Obviously it's a subjective matter, so someone needs to check my replay (PAL) please?

Neil

ah, gone are the days i´ve played for 7 days... i got stuck in a lot of series, so my time on WRS is much smaller these days... like week 55, i didn´t even started or bought the car...

my playing time is mostly on monday, a day before the deadline in most cases... i know dan must be thinking this too, but whatever... i plan on being a "regular" WRS guy after the DTM and BC are done... i remember playing like a freak when i started, posting splits every day, only to ended up frustrated... then i find out that its way better to save it some time and play it all in one day. somehow, it works better for me... its been a while since i post some kind of splits, but because i think posting then tuesday afternoon is a bit pointless...

It isnt really pointless posting the splits on the tuesday afternoon, at least it means that u have posted the splits, even if it is 5 hours b4 the deadline, people like me might see these and give it a last effort shot at it.

ur wins are good, but they are not grand due to the lack of participation during the week, sorry.

deadline is tuesday afternoon for me. must be wednesday early morning in australia, that´s why i said it last minute. tuesday afternoon in australia i was still fighting lemans:)

he is probably a little dark that he got beaten, but heck even the best lose every once in a while

Dr Watson is also Div 1, was promoted the same week i was, so the swine beat me by 0.037 seconds, and drops me off the podium :( :P

and finally my replay...

Indeed they do. but maybe he is a little mad because fasj never posted his splits or any info this week, the week with the silvia and Elise and again at seattle with the BMW, didnt post his setup.

But no worries. Its not like Dan posts his splits times and setups....oh wait... :dopey::dunce:

fair enough mate, as long as what ur telling me is accurate, if it really was a last minute effort, then ur non-posting of splits act is forgiven. but in future try and post something as to ur progress b4 the deadline arises, cheers:cheers:

As far as I understand it.......

There is no rule or regulation, written or implied, that requires a driver in the WRS to post anything! Whether it be splits, comments, or just chat.

Is it gonna be a bad year for Australian wine this year or what?:D

Neil

Indeed.

But if their is no splits then nobody knows what to aim for, and in the long run, no one really improves.

Plus it almost sends across the message that he wont post because he knows he will get beaten, so he will stay quiet, which is complety within the rules, but considering Dan/Curtis always posts, setups, times, and even replays if you contact back channel, no matter how close they are. They never have anything to hide. when has dan kept something from curtis? or Curtis from Dan?

By all means post no splits, but its genearlly against the spirit of WRS. To me it means you want to hide yourself and your willing to use everyone else's splits to aim for, yet not willing to post your own.

Now fasj said he runs at the last minute, so fair enough, but 3 times now... not just once.

But why do i care, i never even raced this week.

Never mind me..

it's not against the rules but it's frowned upon everywhere, and it's this very reason why comments have been made here.

Hey Francisco,

Great win this week. Don't listen to Dan. He knew he left lots of time on the table and he was feeling a bit invincible... Too bad you probably woke a sleeping giant and he'll be actually spending more than an hour on this week's race and will likely lap the field! :^)

Of course if _I_ had run this week, I could've easily beaten your time...

...heh...

If it's any consellation, I'll be posting my splits as soon as I have any just so everyone can make sure they're not last.

I'm not really bothered who posted splits and who didn't, if there's a faster time hiding somewhere just means there's more people in front of me but I can see why people would consider it unsporting. I think I'll stay out of debates like this for now as I think mine is going to be the only time not supported by a replay, (for now, will be getting a Max drive soon so I've kept my replays and will be posting them then for anyone who's interested.)

Well done everyone, even if it is only the fast guys I've been chasing all week.

It doesn't really worry me that he didn't post splits. Mainly because the splits were a pain in the arse to get. I didn't post any splits last week, I guess I'm against the very fabric of WRS too!

Hihihi seems that its not just in the world cup and Netkar that Brazil is owning it.

Congrats there Fasj for the second win, very nice time. As well as for dan and the other winners. 👍 :)

I´ve been a long while away from GTP, and now knowing that BC6 is on, i just wish the best of luck to all the GTP team drivers, and when i can i will be in the grandstands just seeing how each one of you guys are doing it, im sure u guys will rox it.

BC6 come on!

HAHA not like that, as i used to do in past sometimes, as a friend´s trick, i just said yesterday i had a 25'22,0 time just to make some fun, as i obviously stoped with GT and everyone knows it, so i didnt see anything from him after it.

Well actually i told him later it was fake at all, but, if it wasn´t...

Cmon Dan, 2nd place aint that bad, dont expect everything since u saw it many times already. ;)

Posting splits or nope from the rivals aint an excuse for a 2nd place or whatever, you just have to race it by yourself. If you didnt get a faster time then its done.

Next time, set a goal like 2 seconds faster than you, and just realize someone did that laptime, so u won´t say again that someone got "better splits" and didnt post it. ;)

thanks for showing up and supporting GTP in the BC veil... 👍

here are the replay(s)

the slower time is the one i submitted, but i had a faster run, and those interested can see if it is valid or not... i was not sure about a corner in lap 7, that´s why i didn´t submitted.

Okey-dokey...I've watched all the PAL replays posted so far and I can't use the green flag image for any of them. I'll list them in the order of "cleanliness":

holl01 - 25'23.149

Lap 2, Corner after T1: This is the only corner in the race with a question mark over it, here is a picture:

This corner has irked me for some time because it is very unclear where the road ends and the grass begins. I would be hesitant to classify this as a "dirty race".

ballstothewall - 25'50.679

Lap 1, Corner after T1: There is a minor touch of the Gillet Vertigo but it is fairly minor, if it were a real race I doubt it would even be reviewed.

Lap 8, Second last corner: A slight off that I have pictured below:

As you mentioned balls it is definitely 3 wheels off but it is very very close to being clean, however contrary to your justification, I would call it a help and not a hinderance, it provides a better line for the next corner but again I would be hesitant to classify this as a "dirty race".

zdenko - 26'08.925

Lap 1, Down the first straight: There is a decent touch of the Lister Storm, it is a decent hit and personally I would have just restarted but that's just me.

Lap 8, Corner before T5: Here you have a minor collision with a Nissan of some kind while trying to dive inside them, I would consider this a slightly reckless attempt at an overtake. As for how to classify the race....I dunno???

shockwaveracing - 25'41.689

Lap 1, two corners before T1: A major collision while trying to overtake the Gillet Vertigo. This one confuses me??? I wouldn't have even considered continuing the race because it was such a blatant mistake? holl01 makes the same overtake in his race nice and cleanly so I don't see the need to continue with your race? Having said that, the rest of the race is squeaky clean but that collision is fairly serious.

Anyway I know I've come across as a real bastard over the last few weeks, what with all my bad news when checking replays but I'm just stating what I observe 👍

all these insidences weary described r part of general racing and cant be deemed dirty due to the nature of the race, we r all human and its pretty hard to be 100 percent clean for 8 laps straight considering the ****ty nature of the car and its snapping characteristics that plauge its handling. nice race though flat-out, nice and difficult, and i didnt spend an hour on this one, more like 4 actually, i spent half the time either spinning off or getting frustrated, and the other half doing nice laps.
