I knew it! Someone would destroy my time, congratz icemanshooter, excellent time! How the heck did you get over 7 seconds on me?

Congratz to Casio and MisterWeary, Clemi_uk, Dr_Watson, slash05, z-reserve, and ranhammerR34 for their podiums.

Here's my lap, for all the inquisitive NTSC's. This should be the right one, but I did have 4 different replays. If it's wrong, I'll upload the correct one immediatly.

My time sure sucks this week!

I had to re-run the race at the last minute... Literally -- I submitted my time 5 minutes before the deadline.

It was SO 🤬 HARD to get a clean race this week! I HATE THE 🤬 AI!!!

I didn't even have time to check my replay before I submitted -- but I just checked it and it's CLEAN, thank God! I'll get it posted here shortly, I suppose... But there's not really much point to posting it -- it sucked so badly!

Hopefully next week's race will be better.

Oh, did I mention, I HATE THE 🤬 AI!!! I HATE THE 🤬 AI!!! I HATE THE 🤬 AI!!! I HATE THE 🤬 AI!!! I HATE THE 🤬 AI!!! I HATE THE 🤬 AI!!! I HATE THE 🤬 AI!!!

(EDIT: Oh, and Congrats to all who managed a podium this week! A very difficult race, indeed! CoolGeekz -- congrats on winning our division.)

Cool race, Cyril; my favorite track in the game 👍

My laps were:

1'22.275
1'19.683
1'19.317

I'll get my replay up in a bit as soon as I can find it on the max drive

Nice win CG wish i could watch your lap, donno how the 🤬 icemanshooter23 got 3 laps done in 4'01:bowdown:

Big congrats to all the podiums & also to all the racers who spend hours buying wheels to join us:tup: 👍 👍

Here's the replay:

I guess no one else qualified to start ahead of the AI

Well done guys. 👍

After four weeks in the WRS this has to have been my favourite one so far, (sorry Laurence). Nice to see some of the Div 2 guys mixing it with the big boys :). Used Holl01's settings as a guide and found I was fairly quick straight away, (shame he didn't post a time [probably checking maps of Paris :)], be nice to see how bad my driving skills really are in a simarlarly set-up car with a proper driver behind the wheel :dunce:).

I'm quite sure already that I'll be back at the bottom of the Div 2 board next week, neither car or track are my favourite, (I wonder how many posts there will be this week containing the text "DAMN CORKSCREW!")

Edit after reading the above post: 🤬:banghead:🤬:banghead:
No one likes a smart ass. :)

^^ Same...I thought about it, but never figured out how to do it.... :dunce:

Oh you're replay isn't showing up for me...and neither is Clemi's...odd, probably the security settings again! Grr, need to change them.

Didn't even think about it :dunce:. You would of had to enter the whole series, I guess you could've just skipped the races before Deep Forest to save some time?

Nice work iceman 👍 .... It didn't even occur to me to qualify but that makes perfect sense now... :dunce: . Nice work gang, I really liked this race...the car and track rocked :)

Here's my replay

I assuming you had to go into the championship, skip a few races, and then do it?

Couldn't you see how slow the rest of us were? Thanks for sharing the info 👎

I hear you buddy but look at his 2nd & 3rd lap times, he just wiped the floor with us:yuck:

Nice times Iceman and CoolGeeks!

Congrats to all with a clean race!

Now to split my time between Monaco and California. God the jet-lag's gonna be a b;tch!

Thanks and congratulations to all of the participants. It seems that I've got surpassed once again in my division. :sly: Time to give the AI a break.

Congrats on the provisional win there Ben. Don't know if it'll hold up though. We've had AI races in championships before but there was specific conversation regarding qualifying...

Don't know if it violates the "spirit" of the rules or not. Your lap 2 and 3 do lend credence to your superiority this week though so maybe arguing the point is moot.

Casio, great "best in class"! Congrats...

I actually may play again this week at Laguna. We'll see...

Concerning pre-qualifying to start ahead of AI, it has been discussed and forbidden during week 36 (Nismo 400R at Seoul, 7 laps). The idea of that race was to use NOS to pass faster AI, so qualifying in pole was clearly against the spirit of the rules.
This week I was pretty surprised not to have the question, and to be honest I hadn't decided what the answer would have been. Or else I would have stated it in the rules.
What do you all think about it ?

Shame it wasn't mentioned until the results thread but then other people have said about laps 2 and 3 being quick anyway. It wasn't mentioned in this weeks rules but if it's been a no no in the past I guess it goes against the spirit of the rules?

I'm sitting firmly on the fence here, I'm still a noob so I've no wish to rub anyone up the wrong way but it would be nice to see some opinions from regular racers?

I say let him go for this week, you can't blame him for being creative and thought outside the box, and obviously it helped [a lot].

Maybe have that rule changed in later weeks, so this issue doesn't come up again.

Not my decision, but that's my input

yeah, i didnt even give it a second thought for that exact reason... i just assumed it was illegal.
but his lap 2 and 3 times are so blindingly faster than everyone else, its a moot point.
also; Since this week it wasn't specifically stated as illegal, it mind as well be legal.

oh, and NTSC replay Attached for me.

I'm still saying let him keep it (the second and 3rd laps were amazing! My best lap was a 1'21.1xx, holy crap) but flat_out did say this on the Week 55 post:

Flat_Out
Game mode :
GT Mode / Japan / Subaru / Events / Stars of Pleiades / Race 4 at Deep Forest reverse (3 laps)

It doesn't say:
GT Mode / Japan / Subaru / Events / Stars of Pleiades / Series Race / Race 4 at Deep Forest reverse (3 laps)

Not trying to hurt him, I still say let him go

I'm okay with him keeping it, but it's a shame that Casio couldn't bust his win cherry this week...

Soon enough!

I felt it was pretty obvious that we could NOT qualify ahead of the AI cars, because you told us that we could discuss our first lap and our fastest lap. That implies that the first lap will most definitely not be our fastest lap -- which implies having to pass the AI.

It's never been allowed before. I personally feel it shouldn't be allowed now.

But, having said all that, there was nothing specifically forbidding it... Still, I think it goes against the spirit of the rules.

Dead last in in my division? That's a new one, isn't it? Hmmm, :sly:.

Win cherry, hahaha, nice one! I'm all for it, he just thought about it more than some of the others of us. I missed the previous conversation in the NOS week, didn't have time to race that one... Either way, I don't think it matters.

On the other hand, Coolgeeks! SMOKING time there man!

I did worse than you! :sly: Granted, I only did one race... Well, I did maybe two-three dirty ones last tuesday, and messed around with settings, but didn't save any of it, not even the settings. I sat down this morning before I had to go to work for 10 minutes, had to buy all the stuff for the car, used Semi-racing suspension just so I didn't have to play with much(lowered it and stiffened the springs, that's it), had to restart 4-5 times before I got around the AI, and then submitted that race. So, I guess I'm all right with how I did.

IT'S BETTER THAN NOTHING! ;-)

It's only come up once before... And the first lap would still be the slowest lap because you don't start at full speed.

hehe I thought about it too, but i didn't submit that time because I felt like it was cheating, but hey I didn't realize til someone said it!! Anyway, let it slide, it was pretty slick on his part and I think he earned it fair and square :dopey: Randy

I agree, and not just because I came 2nd in D1 (Not overall, so I wouldn't really win anyway).

It's not really the qualifying that's the problem. It's the keeping it to himself that's against the spirit of the rules. No one else even had the opportunity to win this week, because we all made the assumption that you weren't allowed to qualify. Surely when he saw the splits were that much slower then his, he would of thought...Hmmm...Something is happening here.

More or less the same thing happened in week 42. Zikwik found some settings that would have put him far and away infront of the competition, but he posted them. The same way Hol, Hotboi, Fasj, Myself and many others post their setups/tips every week when we find one that's fast.

While it may count as a win, and yes, he probably would have won looking at his last two laps, but in my opinion it will be a rather hollow victory.

interesting splits/lap times iceman, i find it hard to believe that u could be 1.2 seconds faster on a single lap, no matter how good ur secretive setup is, this time certainly needs verifying... when i initially had a go at it without the wing, my 3rd lap was around 1'20.5xx, peaking at a 1'20.3xx, and i thought my setup wasnt that bad. so as far as i am concerned, ur lap is invalid unless u pulled off a miracle. If i am mistaken, i apoligise in advance:tup:

I pretty sure this is the right replay.
