Tough race wasn't it ? I just like the way these lightweight MR can slide sideways in tight turns. It's a pity I didn't have time to run

The tyre handicap seems to have worked pretty well : all faster times are in the 1'45, and cut-off times are pretty similar.

Congrats to eclipsee, it looks like Dan has been replaced by another alien named Ramon, and that opportunities to win div1 will shrink for other racers. Congrats to celeron_266 and EG6_GUY for their respective division wins, and btw, I think it's time for some promotions. Sausages hasn't run much this week due to him being away to Hungary, but his recent results clearly show he belongs to div1. Same for EG6_GUY and AngelCreator, who are both promoted to div2.

STLbarcelona just informed me that there is a typo in his submitted time.
I never accepted a second best time when the submitted time couldn't be proved, but I've always corrected typos (only 1 digit different, or else it's not a typo anymore), but in that case I request a replay to prove the new time.
So div2 rankings change a little bit, and so do cut-off times.

I was on for a 44 all day yesterday. I just always stuffed it up yesterday, it drove me up (and into) the wall. Including a slightest of slightly dirty, 1'45.0 lap when I had a T1 of 29.8!

Well as Cyril has just noted. I misstyped my time. And now my MaxDrive is acting up. Apparently it doesn't like to just be put in the USB drive, it needs to be pushed upwards for it to recognize. At least I could retrieve my time.

And THANK GOD I didn't hit the wall after Tabac. Took me ten minutes to make sure, but I'm positive it's clean. Almost convinced myself at first that it's too good to be true, but I guess I had a little luck on my side.

Anyway, replay attached.

Congrat's to all podiums and a special congrats to the promotee's. More racers to finish in front of me in Div 2.

Really couldn't get to grips (no pun intended) with the car this week.

I think my best lap times we're in the 1'47.8 or 9 range but I stuffed up the braking into the final complex (rass cass or whatever it's called) every time. No excuses though, I sucked big time this week. :dopey:

I'll get the replay up tomorrow, not needed to confirm my last place I know but it'll make me feel better.

here are two saves of mine...hopefully they are correctly named

the first one (celeron_266-w53-submitted.max) is my submitted lap (1' 45.705)

the second one (celeron_266-w53-doubtful.max) is one of my tries that is done before my submitted lap (1' 45.5xx)..which is not submitted because i am not sure if it is clean or not....so if anyone has some spare time please check it so i have a more definitive answer to myself

[EDIT] is anyone using an intec 64MB PS2 memory card?...i got one last week (i was sharing one memory card with my cousin...and its filling up quickly as i go thru WRS and other games..so i have to get a card for myself)...and as i try to put it to my usb drive, AR2MAX cannot read it (the card picture becomes red whereas it is grey normally)...i have to transfer my replays to my cousin's card for uploading as a result...anyone have this problem as well?[/EDIT]

thanks....i am actually quite suprised with the final time as the t2 time for me, sausages, internet, and dunda are pretty close to each other...seems that the performance at the third section of the track is very critical to the overall laptime

I loaded all replays on my memcard, but only 3 appeared in the Replay Manager : I guess all 5 other are NTSC.

Anyway, I looked at all replays once using the far top view, and once again using the same view backwards.
eclipsee: 223hp, SH/SH, clean.

Then I had to check some close calls in the data logger.
MisterWeary : 223hp, SH/SH, clean
OnlyMe : 223hp, SS/SS, clean

But in the end all three are clean.

Can someone deal with the NTSC replays ?
Casio, can you post yours ?

But I made sure to check it to see if it was legal

After taking the replay's from Cyril's post:

InsaneRacer's lap is clean. And some feedback on it: Very nice lap man, VERY close to the inside walls there through that one chicane section after the downhill after the tunnel... lol No impacts though, so good to go from me. Let me know if you'd like me to explain what could help make you faster...

Barcelona's replay is from week 60's race actually... And it's clean. You might want to post your lap from week 62's race though, because it is required being a gold and all.

Sure thing! I can't really say it was a certain part of the track, but more the driving, which is what we're all here to improve. I used to drive exactly like you when I first started, more prone to braking late into the turns and doing a little positioning(sliding,

) of the car mid-turn. It's the main thing that makes the fastest the fastest, just trying to get most of your slowing down before the turn, trying not to slide much(if at all) in the middle of the turn to maintain speed, and get on the gas early. You want to maintain speed through the turn and get on the gas smoothly and early to have a higher exit speed. Basically the basics, but much easier said than done.

Try to get your braking done a little sooner, and try not to slide as much. A good bit of your sliding was scrubbing off speed. If you could slow down just a bit sooner, get back on the gas lightly, or in some cases full throttle, depending on where on the track and such, and you'll carry more speed through and out of the turn.

That advice goes out to everyone, including myself... 👍 Oh, and of course, try to use as MUCH of the track as possible. Not only getting close on the inside of turns, but starting all the way from the outside and working your way smoothly out to the outside again on the exit. On some turns it's not always best to start from the outside, or exit on the outside due to turns that follow or come before, but when you're exiting onto a straight, swing as wide as you can as smoothly as you can to maximize your exit speed.

Take a look at some of the D1/2 replays and you should see it in action.
