Hi All, with Duke autorisation I post a topic to inform GTplanet.net members about the second edition of the "GTC" running at http://www.gtchallenge.net
what is "GTC" ?
GTC is our main hotlap tournament.
first edition: 90 racers > 30 teams (french, chinese, italians, swiss, belgiums, great britain, etc...)
However GTChallenge.net furnish a real time interface to post your times, and the replay control is done by a great staff (same as ESWC 2006).
here you will find the rules of this tournament:
2006 Rules of the GTChallenge tournaments by team
You will find in this page everything you need to know to take part in GTChallenge. We advise you to read in detail these rules before any participation. For any question about the GTChallenge tournament go here
1/1 - Introduction
1/2 - Composition of a TEAM
1/3 - Organization of the tournament
1/4 - Rules of the GTChallenge tournament
1/5 - Modes of play
1/6 - The handicap of power
1/1 - Introduction
To be able to take part in GTChallenge by team it is necessary:
To have a means of checking such as : Maxdrive, X-port, Shark-port (STAKE or NTSC) or a means of video capture (chart of acquisition, camera FD, Web camwood etc.). sending your replay is obligatory to be able to take part.
The vidéos are authorized only for first GTChallenge. From the second GTChallenge tournament all the pilots must have Maxdrive or equivalent to be able to take part.
1/2 - Composition of a TEAM
A TEAM must consist of 3 pilots, neither more nor less.
1 titular pilot who will be the person in charge for his team + 2 pilots.
The titular pilot is responsible for the management of his team all the duration of his existence. He must inform the organizers of the championships of any change of possible pilot. The changes or recruitments of pilots during the Saison are not authorized; they must be done during the Pauses. The titular pilot cannot be transferred nor replaced at the time of GTChallenge except reason of cause beyond control. If the titular pilot must be replaced and if you do not have an other choice, contact radar@gtchallenge.net by exposing your problem.
To create a TEAM for GTChallenge it is necessary that the titular pilot provides following information to the organizers:
- the name of the TEAM and the titular pilot
- pseudos of the 2 pilots who constitute the team with their valid e-mail addresses
- the URL of its private forum if the TEAM has one (if you want a forum free, ask Admin' S)
These informations must be sent by private message via forum GTC to:
ChronoInspector or if you meet any problem with the forum, by e-mail at this address radar@gtchallenge.net or spark@gtchallenge.net
There is no limit of TEAM. However it will not be possible to register a team beyond the 14/09/06 for GTChallenge # 2.
1/3 - Organization of the tournament
Choice of the tests:
The first round of each Season will be held in GT mode. The organizers will choose this round, car + circuit.
Rounds 2 and 3 of each Season will be held in Arcade mode. The members will have to choose a car among the 6 proposed by the means of a vote organized on the forum and this, for each round in Arcade mode.
6 different kind of cars can be proposed for each round (vote):
1 Front wheel drive - Road car
1 Front wheel drive - Race car
1 Rear wheel drive Road car
1 Rear wheel drive Race car
1 4 wheel drive Road car
1 4 wheel drive Race car
The votes take place 2 days before the end of each round for 5 days duration. The car winning this vote will be used for the following round.
All the circuits will be selected by the organizers and will be revealed at the beginning of each round.
1/4 - Rules of the GTChallenge tournament
Rounds:
The rules to be followed on the track are the same one as for the Tournaments in solo, available HERE
The GTChallenge is a Season based tournament. Each Challenge has 3 Seasons of 3 rounds: 2 X 3 = 6 rounds
At the end of the third season, the TEAM with the more points will be declared The Winner of GTChallenge.
The replays must be sent before the end of each round and should be available for checking in the final classification page. The checks take place during the 3 days of Pause. The results of the checks will determine the handicap of power for the 2 following Arcade rounds of the Season.
The checks are carried out by the inspectors of the site. In case of doubt, an opinion poll could be created on the forum by the inspectors so that all the pilots of the championship can deliberated on the validity of the run.
CHEATING:
It is forbidden to send a time in order to see where a pilot is situated in the provisional classification of a round and this for any reasons. The titular pilot of a TEAM is responsible for the attitude adopted by his pilots. Its TEAM will be penalized on the final classification of the round if the organizers find such behaviours.
If that is not sufficient to counter this type of cheating, we will modify the classifications not to post neither the pseudos of pilots, nor maximum speeds. They will be posted only at the end of the tests. That would be so stupid to come to such an end...! In the interest of all and good unfolding of GTChallenge, be Fairplay !!!
1/5 - Modes of play
The first round of each season takes place: GT mode/hot lap/ FULL options except N.O.S with free adjustments .
Rounds 2 and 3 of each season take place: Arcade mode "Against the Watch" or "Simgle Race", on 1 or 2 laps, with or without IA. There could be activated the wear of the tires for some rounds.
The adjustments of the IA for the tests in multi laps are as follows:
Cars IA = slow - 10
The organizers decide for restrictions to be posted at the beginning of a round:
- With or without IA
- Activation of the wear of the tires ON or OFF (if ON: slow wear) (in all the cases the choices of tires are free)
The "fast Adjustments" of the cars available in "the Arcade mode" are free and include/understand:
The adjustment of the power and the weight (power + 20 % (if not of * handicap) and minimum weight - 10 %)
The adjustment of the transmission, (gear box): free choice
The use of the Assistances to control: free choice
The choice of the tires: free choice
1/6 - The handicap of power
We here will approach one of the most significant points of GTChallenge. In order to approach reality as for the races of French Supertourisme, we set up a system of Handicap. In reality this handicap applies to the weight of the car. In GT4 we cannot control the weight of the cars with a replay (slowed down). The handicap will thus be applied to the power, which, it is controllable at the beginning of a replay since it is posted with the screen.
Here are the details of the system of handicap:
The 3 first pilots of each rounds will have a Handicap of power for the following round
Power = - 3 % for the first *
Power = - 2 % for the second *
Power = - 1 % for the third *
What must appear in Arcade menu/Fast adjustments/Power :
Power = 17 % (for a handicap of - 3 %)
Power = 18 % (for a handicap of - 2 %)
Power = 19 % (for a handicap of - 1 %)
Note that there will be no handicap of power for the first round of each Season. This one acts as a qualificative round and is held in Mode GT (FULL options with adjustments).
The handicap applies only for the second and the third round of each Season.
Of course, the power must be regulated in menu "the Fast Adjustments" of the "Arcade Mode" for the 3 pilots concerned. If a pilot do not regulate his handicap, he will be disqualified for the round.
