GTPLMS PreSeason Race - Drivers to your cars

Welcome LMS fans to Preseason testing. Since I haven't seen or heard from the controlling steward (m.piedgros) in days, as a support steward I'm taking it upon myself to get the party started. So, here's a pre-season event to get everyone in tune with their cars.

Preseason testing will take place at El-Capitan. No qualifying. No Points. Two-Stages

Stage 1: 5 Laps Reverse - GT1 and GT2 race at level 10 difficulty. P1 & P2 will race at -5 difficulty (to simulate GT traffic).
Stage 2: 5 Laps Forward - Same settings as above.

RH - RM - RS tires allowed ONLY. Tire Wear Strong. Forced Pit Entry. (Thanks Neil) Any gear. Any Aids. AI should be on RS tires. The car specs for Pre-season are posted below. These are subject to change at any time by the GTPLMS stewards.

Question:

What should the tyre-wear be set to?

None, Mild or Strong?

Neil

My GT1 entry is missing from the entry list. Unfortunately I can't run tonight but I'll be on it as soon as possible. (Maybe even tommorow morning if I get up early enough!)

Great stuff .. thanx Gun :) .. ive never raced El Capitan in reverse mode but will enjoy every second of it .

ICallShotgun, you seem to have misplaced m.piedgro's GT1 Entry in GT2.

Not managed a complete, submittable (by my standards anyway) race with the Mac yet....

You must have learned from Cyril! (The evil dark lord of the WRS-Combo!)

Loving it because i'm hating it, so far! (if you know what I mean?)

Neil

I ran the RX7 lastnight Neil, just to get used to a faster (then my JGTC) car, once I'm comfy with the Mazda, I'll pull out the big gun!!!

The RX-7 behaves like a good woman should!

When you treat her good, she is good!
When you treat her great, she is great!
But, when you give her a kick up the arse, and push her buttons..........She's BADD!
(But in a petrol-head, not sexually (or saido/masochistic (maybe? :) )way) LOL ;)

Did I get away with that? :scared:
Did anyone see me?

No! Thank God!

Ok!

The RX is f-ing brilliant! It power-slides BEEEEE-autifully,

And sucks tarmac like a delusional Las Vegas Hooker on crack!

The Mac........is a twitchy, bad tempered, red-head!

She will ride as fast as the wind, make your life actually feel worth while............And then Nimbly, seductively, lovingly..........rip your head off at the neck, spit down your throat, and then say it was all your fault!

But hey?

What was the question?????????????

Oh,.......Yeh!

I remember...........

A 16" pepperoni with extra olives!

Delfino has gone to his g/f's for the next three days .. so my times for pre-season testing at El Capitan have been sent .. stage 1 👍 stage 2 ... 👎

Well I tried them too.
Which one is stage 1?At the beginning of the thread this is written: "Stage 1:5 laps REVERSE".At the time sending formula the Stage 1 is the FORWARD.
So if I was lapping the normal direction,I've got very bad tyre wear but I knew the track. The reverse track has a fantastic rhythm and hasn't so strong tyre wear but that was a new track for me.Maybe this was slow or maybe both of them but at the end I have only 6 seconds difference between the results from the different directions.
That was very very interesting thing for me.I really liked it.

Hey guys,

I'm going to be away from home for a while. I've already established talks with 'Gun in order for him to take over as lead steward. I will be entering each event as planned, however I will not have much time to keep a series of this magnitude running.

took the down powered squirrel out for a run today.
Got into first before the tunnel.
this thing is a handfull and will take some getting use to

I'll be putting in some laps a little later tonight. In my shakedown experience the car seems to be, as oldphart said, a handful. Can't wait to spend a season running it!!!

@ Gun!

You seem to have missed Ford-Fan & Oldphart's entry with the down-powered squirrel, ehem! ;) I mean the Ford GT car in GT2.

And this is definately the best/worst track you could have picked for the pre-season testing mate. I was nearly chucking the PS2 and wheel through the window last night:grumpy:

The Mac just doesn't like the bumps, one little bit! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: and the AI are a real pain-in-the-arse! 3 abreast into the first 3 corners with the toyota 7 being driven by an epileptic monkey on acid (no offense meant)

Bloody frustrating!

Once I have one clean reverse race with the Mac  I can relax and have fun with the RX-7, but god knows how long that will take!

This has been taken care of. I've edited the entry list and all entries I've received so far should be in and correct.

Believe me, the P1 and P2 cars are a nightmare to drive, even if you're not dodging the GT traffic. I'll be working on the other races this season in the next few days. Don't fret, I don't believe the AI settings will be this diabolical...maybe.

 Well.... not my favorite track in either direction.
Shaved 14 seconds off my first clean run going forward. Can't say the same for the reverse :guilty:

Just plain ran out of time to run a faster reverse lap :(

Brought home shreds on both directions.

Tire wear seems to be even :)

J.R.

almost forgot....time sent to shotgun

Yay!

Finally got a clean race in reverse with the Mac! :boggled:

Now I can play with the RX-7!

Done one race, not clean enough for me. And it's very close to the times I was doing in the Mac:crazy:

Mind you, you can throw the RX around like a rag-doll, and it still stays in control! :) :) :) :) :) :) Much fun!

Neil

Yeah, I'm getting the same times out of the RX7 and the Mac. The RX7 handles so much easier, the Mac has a but of understeer and braking points are sooner then the Mazda's. I thought it was just me cause the Mac has 100 HP more and is a tad lighter.

I have my RX7 times, but need to do the Mac today. I'm a bit confused as to the time zone CDT, how does that translate to EST here in the States?

So I believe that is GMT-5, so in the UK it should be 6am tuesday morning (because we are on GMT+1 (BST) at the moment).........I think?

Chicago = GMT-5
London = GMT+1

That means 6 hrs difference at the moment!

Yup, that's right, 6 am tuesday morning in the UK
