All Star Sedan Championship-Interest

Hello and welcome to the All Star Sedan Championship. This championship will use, as you have
already guessed, sedans. The idea for this series came to me a couple months ago, but I lost interest
when I saw how many race series where already being ran. But now that I keep track of all of the
race series that are running on GTplanet (check here), I see that there aren't as many running right now.
Knowing that I went and started testing again. This race series was going to be 10 race's long, but
with no series running in the short series thread I went and made it only 6 race's. The race's will
be in GT mode, but to make it easier I have picked a race series already in the game. That race series
is the Polyphony Digital Cup. With in this race series I have decided to use these tracks,


Twin Ring Motegi-Road Course / 6 laps
Seattle Circuit Reverse / 7 laps
Infineon Raceway Stock Car Course / 8 laps
Tokyo Route 246 Reverse / 5 laps
Suzuka / 5 laps
Nurburgring / 2 laps


Because of the rules of the series, the cars will use sport tires. But there is no horsepower rule so
I will setup the cars to run about the same lap times, even if the horsepower does not seem fair.
Now I wanted enough cars so every one could pick a car they liked, so here is the list of cars.

To PAL user's, the Mazda Mazdaspeed '05 is called the Mazda Mazda6 MPS '05 for where you are.

All of the cars where tested on Twin Ring Motegi-Road Course and Infineon Raceway-Stock Car Course.
Now more cars may be added. With that many cars I think every one can find a car they like.
As for setups on the cars, I will post them below when I'm done with testing. With that done
we move on to the rules. Here are a set of rules I would like to use in this race series.

2 wheels on the track at all times

no contact with walls or cars

no cheating of any kind

save your replays

Now I know how hard it is to race clean against the AI, so I will allow light contact with the cars.
By light contact I mean if you bump in to another car but it does not change the cars line than it's ok.
And if you do go off the track, but don't gain any time I will allow that as well. Now I would like you
to save your replay because if your time seem too fast or people think you cheated you will be
able to prove them wrong. Now as for the races it's self, there will be qualifying and the race it's self.
The qualifying will be done on sport soft tires, and the race will be done on sport hard tires. Now here is
how I would like to receive your entry’s for this series.

Team Captain - use only if your on a team
Team name - what's your team name
Driver's name - your name
Car - the car your going to use
Race experience - Have you raced before, if not just say no
Save type's - what types of saves you can give(I would like .max, .xps or .sps)

Now because I have found that many people like to team up with a friend, I am going to allow teams
to be made. If you are going to team up with someone, please add Team Captain to your entry.
Now I will allow up to 4 member's on one team. You can all use the same car or not. It's up to you.

Now I would like a lot of entry's, but with any series I don't know how many people will show interest.
My goal is about 20 entry's, so if I can get more than that I would be happy. Now if you are thinking
about joining, please only join if you can race the whole series. If you can't, please don't sign up.

Now I'm leaving this open for entry's until the 30th of this month unless their are still people interested
in joining. If not I will start round 1, but you can still send me your entry until the end of round 1. And
to who may want to know, I may join depending on how many entry's there are. So watch out for me.
Well this is my series, if you have any questions just ask here or PM them to me. Now to the mods,
their will be a post below this one, I will use this post to give update's on cars, rule change's and
anything else. So in advance I'm sorry for the double post. Thanks for your time. Now if you want to
help me I would be glad to have the help. Just PM me and I will find something you can help me with.

Race update's

Circuit de la Sarthe will be replaced because it's impossible to get the cars even on other tracks
and on this track. The track that will replace it will be Infineon Raceway-Stock Car Course.

Car update's

Infiniti G35 Sedan '03 has been added to the list of cars that can be used.

All cars that have been tested will be retested because I feel I didn't push.
them to there limit(needed different racing music), change's will be made where needed.

Mazda Mazdaspeed 6 '05 for NTSC user's is called the Mazda Mazda6 MPS '05 for PAL user's.

The Lexus IS200 (J) '98 has been removed because it doesn't have enough speed.

Sound interesting...I happen to like Gt Mode based series because you can earn credits while you practice/race. But, I think most users seem to shy away from them.

I also like the allowance for slight imperfections (as long as no advantage is gained) in races with Ai's and more than 5 laps or so. Having to constantly restart because of every slight infraction can be very tedious and annoying in such races.

I will try to run with you if you actually get enough support.👍

Yes I like GT mode more than arcade too, plus I know how hard it is to get
a perfect race(because I lost count on how many time's I had to restart a race).

Hello, I know that it doesn't look like much is happening but there is work being done,
you just can't see it. I'm doing test's, I have help with checking cars for PAL user's.
I have someone testing a few cars. So please don't be afraid to come and post,
join, or ask if you can help out. And if you do race don't be sad and stop racing
because you didn't win, this is for fun and if you don't win that just means you are
working on getting better. And that's always a good thing.
And I wanted to say that I change the starting date to the 30th. Because I don't
think many people will want to race the week of Xmas. Plus I think it would be
cool if we started on the 1st of the year Well that's all for now, so good nite.

Speaking of testing I am dedicating part of this afternoon to testing... a good part. E55 is pretty much ready however my beloved 190 isn't quite fast enough.

I'll be glancing at the cars over the next few days. I'm going to trust your testing and I'll pick a car based on personal preference and 'looks' alone.

Thanks you two, for both testing and joining. And yes I will keep testing
an make sure the cars are even. Where some cars will be slow on track with
long straight's, they will be fast on tracks with alot of corner's.

I would enjoy racing with you all, however, I cannot promise that I would be able to run in every race.
My life and schedule are complicated, and I have to share the PS2 with 4 other people.
I have weeks where I can play for an hour or so 3 times a week, and weeks where I never get to play.
As for the actual racing, Are you matching HP with the AI to keep the race seim-fair? Or will we be beating the AI like a new drum?
With the full-race trans, you can make a little bit of HP go a long way.

Either way, if I can "audit" a race now and again, I'll be glad to participate as I am able.

As it will help me with some other testing I'm currently doing, I'll run a FPV Typhoon. I have raced before, I have an AR-Max, but I can't promise that I can provide replays. But I'm slow, so it probably won't come up.

Gil has brought something up to me, so I may change the race series we use.
I will get to work on testing my idea and I will get back with you all.

Is the 330i Fully Modded? It scares me that the Audi S4 has around 70 more Bhp and is lighter than the 330i but oh well

Welcome Goerge Morley, I'm glad that you joined. And yes the 330i has all
of the mods on it. The BMW in testing is faster than the S4(on short,twisty
track's) because it handle's better. But not as fast on track's with long staight's.
Also Gil was saying that the race's are too easy, so I may post a poll if people want one.

Here is one for you, I was testing to see how the tire's would wear and I got
a Ford GT '05. I could only keep up with it using the Chrysler 300C '05.
