My best friend commited suicide...

I havn't posted latley, been more of a lurker than anything, but here goes:

Yesterday at about 8pm I got a phone call, from my best friend sister. As soon as I she started to speak I knew something was horribly wrong.
"Justin killed himself" It didnt even register... I couldnt say anything, I didnt know what to say. I know he had been rather depressed latley, but I Thought that he was getting better.

After it sunk in I basicly broke down, Ive never cried so hard or so long in my life. In fact I cant even remember the last time I cried. I then went over to his house to comfort his sister and mother.

I didnt get full details... But supposedly He put a plasic garbage bag over his head and had it hooked up to a tank of gas of some sort...I dont know what.

So I'm basicly a wreck right now...and I feel like I'm just rambling at the moment. so please excuse my grammar and spelling.

I'm gonna miss him so much... we have been best friends who basicly did everything together scince I was six years old...

I, and, everyone else here are very sorry to hear that. I'm sure others on here know what you're going through. My Best Freind's Girlfriend commited suicide aswel, I dont know how, I think she cut herself. She had been missing for days and noone knew what was happening. My mate got the call from her parents and he called me straight away. Me and my mate rushed to his place to try and comfort him, ive never seen him cry like that before...in fact, ive never seen him cry before at all...It was terrible.

A few weeks later he started getting depressed and he attempted suicide aswel, but the branch he had the rope tied to broke and he survived thank god. I broke down when i heard how close he was.

I feel sorry for you man, hope you get through it, dont try anything silly and remember theres always someone around to talk to.

I remember in middle school, so kid in my one of my classes, a rather chill kid to be around... Well, his parents got divorced and his mom and dad were giving all sorts of excuses, his grades dropped from like A's and B's, to about F's and almost U's (Unacceptable) So I got a phone call myself from one of his friends, saying he just committed suicide. He went to an abandoned place near the dump, and hung himself there. Police found and identified his body, called his parents, and kid over heard everything. Sad story indeed.

Once again, sorry to hear about your buddy man.

I too lost a friend to suicide. She wasn't real close to me but we did know each other, she was really nice person and always carried a smile. But nobody knew that she had severe problems in her family until one day at school couple weeks ago I heard from her boyfriend that she committed suicide. Apparently, her parents had a large argument and couldn't take it anymore, she went into her dad's room where he kept a gun and shot herself. We were devestated.

It's too bad that some people can get so unhappy. There was a girl in my year back in 8th grade who decided to give up. I don't know why. She had lots of friends at school and was the laughy, happy type. She was only 13. The principle went around to all her classrooms crying, and he was telling us that she died. I don't think she should have done that.
 
Suicide is just a permanent solution to a temporary problem, it should never happen. I'm sorry to hear that Powripper. My condolences to you and your friend's family.

I agree. Its sad to think there are people out there that just give up, when others are struggling to fight diseases and such everyday just to make it to see tomorrow.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss though. Stay strong, and be there for his family as much as you can, i'm sure they could use it right now.
 
Damn it. He was only 20; what a jerk. :(

At least he didn't physically mutilate himself. I wish you all well and will pray for all of you.

I'm really sorry to hear this as well. What a waste.....

Nobody I know have taken their own lives, but I have had one call from a buddy of mine, years ago. He was clearly drunk, and proceeded to tell me that he should kill himself. I don't even know if he remembers that, and needless to say, I did successfully talk him out of it. It scared the heck out of me.

Unlike Fred, I can't even begin to imagine what you must be going through right now. And as cliché as this sounds, my heart goes out to you and his family/friends. Just hang in there, man.

You need to stay strong, for yourself, your family and his family. I'm sure that his mother is going to look at you as a kind of substitute (surrogate) son (because of you being best friends and all). Don't be a stranger and visit his family to support them.

EDIT: My mom commited suicide so I know what you're going through and I tried in september and was rescued just, only just in time, so I know what your friend was going through
 
I cannot imagine what would possess a good-looking, healthy kid to kill himself. It's a very selfish act. I know you feel angered as well as sadness.

I've never know anyone who's taken thier own life, but I do know a girl who about a year before I met her, her brother had hung himself. Depression played a large part in that as well. You can easilly view suicide as selfish, in many respects it is, but when depression is involved it's not so black and white. Depression is a nasty thing, proper depression isn't just feeling down about something, and it has a massive effect on you. It's going to be hard for a while but you need to keep as strong as you can about it, you have my condolences.
 
One of my friends killed himself with a gun.....I know what you're going through,I can only repeat what it's already said: just hang in there.....
