One more thing to clarify Oni...

I assume we are racing by the OLR rules? I have gone about .25 faster than my posted time but I clipped a wall so I did not save the replay or count the lap (even though timing did not go red) so I was wondering if this is what everyone is doing or if that needs some clarification... 👍

Though i did drift it through the sweeper!
Ill give it another shot tomorrow without stepping the back out around that sweeper. Should make up a fair bit of time. But for now.. your at the top!

Nice mate! wont be long till your in the 42s. I probably have to pull out off this now as my GT5 is freezing every time i cross the finish line to start a new lap. Not sure if anyone has experienced this before and have a solution to fix the problem?

I know it's related to the Ghost so i disabled it but it still has that slight freeze when i cross the line which results into the game locking up every time. Only happens in time trials. I can do all over stuff no problem. So i'm not a happy chappy.

This took me a bit to get, like Chesterdraws said, the setup is a little tricky...certainly not the fastest way to a quick time.

I had the same problem this week for the WRS. The ghost was uploaded from my main account, where I did some testing, before switching to my GTP account. So I thought maybe that was part of the problem.
I backed out of the track, entered again, and didn't load any ghost at all. Then just let the next best lap be the ghost once it was created and just kept going from there. Didn't have any more problems after that.

I had that very same issue about 3 months ago when I first started testing my XANAVI NISMO Z for our GT500 championship...
I went about it a different way by deleting the ghost file completely because it was not uploaded from another profile and even trying to watch the replay would cause the PS to freeze...
The second I deleted the replay file it went back to all systems go!
Give it a go, see what happens... Does not sound like a completely isolated incident... Perhaps the replay saves are corrupted and cause system failure.

Good luck! I hope you can get it sorted, I don't want our little Prancing horse duel to be cut short by anything beyond our control...

The 430 Scuderia and F430 will have the exact specs though unless you add DF to the Scuderia... I was going to give it a run in place of the 458 but when I noticed the specs identical to Oni's F430 I decided to stick with the 458.
However, if you do add the wing and some DF we will all have slightly unique cars! Will make for a great challenge. Although, I was considering parking the 458 (temporarily... ) in favour of the Ford GT to see what it is like because I imagined it to be a weapon although from the comments from dirdiver and yourself I'm not so sure anymore...

Seems like the Lambo LP-560, Ferrari 430/458 and mclaren mp4-12c are the main contenders, if be surprised if another make/model did a decent time...

Maybe.. but where is the fun in that? I'd say this gives people a lot more cars to try out and see how close they can get them to the leaders. If they just want the fastest time on the board then pick the fastest cars but if they want to try and get a less competitive car closer to the front kudos to them.

In the end it's all for fun. There is no glory, no prizes and no medals. It's something to do while PSN is down.

The last two weeks have pretty much gone as follows: I load up the game, growl and spit at the idea of a-spec, curse the hackers, curse sony and then turn it off again.

Hoping I wont have time to set up a car for this before PSN is back.

Hey Jim! Definitely give this Time Trial a go mate!. If you want to use less time looking for a car definitely give the 458 a try as the stock setup will put you in the 43 highs so shouldn't take you to long to get a setup running. It's surprisingly easy to drive stock.

This time trial i put up is the only thing getting me to play GT5 at the moment. Like you i cant stand the A-Spec anymore and my B-Spec drivers are all stuck online

Hope when PSN is back up i might be able to get in your rooms again! Fingers crossed!

Give them both a go i say! The Ford GT will take awhile to get it setup for fast times though. Be interested to see how fast you can get that beast around Tokyo.

I had a crack in a few cars but the fastest I managed was a 1:45:2** in a Ferrari Scuderia. The car had stock settings and no upgrades. All restrictions from OP were met and it took me around 30 minutes in that car alone to make the time.
None of my laps were perfect, I'm sure given more time I may have shaved a few more tenths off with a completely perfect lap but I didn't have the time.
I shall be trying again in a few days and hopefully can manage an absolutely perfect lap and get a quicker time!

Left the 458 behind today and headed out with the SP1 for a bit of a run...
Talk about understeer... Took me about half and hour to get a setup I was comfortable with. Ended up just cracking into the very high 42s with it but feel the 458 still has the potential to be faster than that again! 👍 Won't post the actual time because I clipped the wall on the fast left-hander after the back straight...
Still looking at my MP4-12C and considering it, although I had hoped PSN would have been back online by now...

Tried a few other cars, got the BMW M3 Coupe 07 down to 1.44.887 with 480bhp and 538pp but i kept touching the wall whenever i went below 1.45 so moved onto the Chevrolet Camaro ss 10 and got a 1.44.446 with a good clean lap so that's my lowest at the moment. The car has 480bhp, 540pp and 1380kg using a wheel and ABS1 aero was down to 5 at the rear.
