Brother's wedding tomorrow. Actually wasn't planning to be home tonight either, but my dad decided to get sick (just in time for the wedding), so we're going up tomorrow.

I'm working again to phish. Saturday is double time for me since it'll be my 7th day in a row. Hard to pass that up.
I've put in for 3 different day shift maintenance positions, hopefully I'm going to get one of them.

Hello turtles. Our entry to the SPA 24hr race is underway. Turtle chocochocochip had a clean start and is trying to hunt down the very fast toyota gt86's.

Hard to tell what position we are in from the live feed though. He was running 3rd prior to first round of pit stops, but only a few seconds behind the leader in our gtcup class.

Lightningd is taking the wheel in a little over an hour from now.

Root them on! (See gtp home page for live feed)

Good luck to everyone tonight....

How are the guys doing in the 24hr Spa race??

@Ph1sher I'm requesting a color change:
Violet car/ gold chrome wheels.
Man I miss racing with you guys. Hopefully I'll be able to soon.

Sounds good!

There doing awesome!! Very impressed!

So not many showing up tonight or?

Sorry to disappoint Turtles, but we had a major disconnect during our second stint requiring a PS3 reboot and everything. Lost tons of laps to the leaders. There's really no way to make up all that lost time.

We're sitting 4th in class i think, but it's such a shame, because 2nd was very possible I think.

Some things still being worked out due to a game-wide disconnect 15 minutes before the end of the race. Shouldn't affect us too much though. Provisional results put us 3rd in class, 3 laps behind 2nd, 9 laps behind 1st. Lightning had some trouble in his first stint with disconnects, otherwise we might've challenged for 2nd. Not too bad when you consider we only had two drivers a few days ago, and limited practice with the combo.

Yeah, Choco and LIghtning really stepped up and did awesome in the event with only 2 days practice! Congratulations goes out to the team for a hard fought podium (we think anyway, nothing is official yet as there is a mess in the GT3 class they are dealing with first).

The lotus team had several really fast drivers, probably the best car overall and seemed well organized. I don't think we would have beaten them, but who knows. 2nd was definitely within our grasp though. The GT86's had a fast car, but our drivers were better IMO from top to bottom than those two teams. Their top driver's dominated as the car was much faster than ours, but their other drivers could not keep up that pace i noticed.

It was a lot of fun though. Choco and I did 9 hours and Lightning pulled in 6. Had a blast. Just need to teach some of those GT3 drivers to respect our GTCup class.
They say to hold our lines and they will get around us, but if we did that they ran us off the road several times!!! I learned quickly which guys in GT3 i could trust and which acted like i was an AI car just shoving us out of their way. Really poor/rude unfortunately as these are FULL DAMAGE races mind you. And throw in some lag at times and you have to be careful. Anyway, for the most part we escaped damage i think. I only had one bad wreck (my own fault, Eau Rouge got me! :banghead: ), but it didn't cost us much time at all.

where do you see these provisional results Choco? can't find it...

Great job, guys! Representing Turtle well. 👍 Just wish I could join the team for one of these races. Lousy work schedule...

It's 24 hours Dolph. You can take any stint you want!

Seriously though, it does sort of monopolize my weekend when i run them.

I wouldn't mind trying to do a 24 hours race with you guys at any time... I probably wouldn't be as fast as you guys, but how much does that matter in the first few hours?:scared:

Every Minute matters Spy Agent. Look at the GT3 results in both races thus far we've run.

Lemans = 2 lead cars on same lap after 24 hours
Spa = 4 lead cars all on same lap after 24 hours

That means one delayed driver change or one accident can put you a lap or laps down and can be the difference between a podium or not. Or even a victory or not! Every stint matters

@jay*doc @Ph1sher You're both aware you're the hosts tonight, right?

P.S. I'll be back semi-permanently on the Ps3 next week for testing, hosting, etc. Sorry for being away.

Any suggestions from anyone for a few of next weeks combos? For fun, pick a car and a track, but keep in mind that the car and track you pick will not be run together. :P

Just an update, we ended up finishing 2nd in class in Spa after post race auditing.
As for suggestions, maybe some slow fr cars like the brz's or miatas. For tracks, the Red Bull Ring might make a fun race. 👍

I'll be setting up a practice room at 9:30est. Who's coming to race tonight?

For me there will be. A package arrived today...:D

that's the wheel i have. the brake pedal springs will break eventually. sometimes the wheel feedback is just too strong, to the point of irritating. other than that, it's handled a lot of abuse and the feel is good other than the castor effect not really being realistic, but that's probably a GT6 problem.
