I'm thinking we'll go with one room again tonight.

If @dabneyd is unavailable, I'll open it around 8:45 Eastern Time.

So...does the car for tonight require any adjustments to gear ratio ?
If so, is that info provided to everyone while in the room ?
And, is gearing info provided to all in the room, or should I have that prepared before entering any of the karting events?

I am asking because I really want to join as often and possible, and I don't want to be a pain in the arse asking for gearing info while in the room.
I was able to join a couple races and had a great time. If I get in tonight, it will be after the first race, but hopefully before race number 2.

Yeah! What he said.

Reckon I better get started moving my wheel back over to the PS3.

Ok that only took 20 minutes.

I'd like to take this moment to thank everyone that raced in the Kart series, it was a pleasure racing with you 👍

But, at this point, I need to shut the series down. There are a myriad of reasons that I won't go into here.

Once again, it was a pleasure racing with everyone.

Mods, if you could please close this thread. Thanks!

Ugh... total bummer... That SUCKS.

Is anybody else willing to run the show? I want to keep racing karts. I wish I had a wired connection.

The Karts have been a tremendous "teaching tool" for me. I really appreciate all the effort(s) that went into opening and maintaining our Event. Will miss it tremendously.

Well poop. I'd be happy to commit to hosting, but I'm just too lazy to test gearing and all that. Can we build a team and carry on?

I would be happy to help this continue. I'm not a "faster" guy so I'm probably not the best gearing tester but I can certainly assist. I enjoy focusing on a single vehicle so pounding laps for the sake of testing doesn't seem so much like work to me.

As much as I want to help, I am too 'seasonal' for the small time commitment. I struggle with the stuff I already have until July.

Oh man... Hate to hear this.

Thanks for taking the time to run/host this kcheeb as well as everyone else who's hosted. This was probably the most fun and competitive series I've raced in on GTPlanet and really the only reason I've bothered to play GT6 lately.

If it ever comes back or anyone else wants to continue with it, I'll gladly show up as much as possible. 👍

@dabneyd

If you can host I would love to make an attempt at keeping this going. I would also love to not miss this upcoming Tuesday so the momentum doesn't take a hit. Since it's already Friday how's about you and I pick a track or two and run Motegi as a default, then after Tuesday we can go back to random track choosers. I'll do gearing tomorrow afternoon starting at 2:30pm EST if anybody would care to join me.

125 Shifters

I pick Nurburgring GP/D

Sounds good. I think I'll have to make a new thread since kcheeb will be the only one who can update the OP. I'll work on that tonight.

I would like to join, I'm in div 7 of spec racing but I'd like to try the kart series as well. Do I need to complete a time trial here as well? Thank you.

Sure hope this Kart Series continues.

@aliengamer25 No time trial needed here. This series has traditionally been open to anyone. Just show up!

@TEX36 Certainly hope so. As long as folks show up we'll be good to go!

Gearing/Practice room open. I'm not wired so not sure how stable it will be with others. Worth a shot though right!

If anybody would care to discuss 1 or 2 more tracks for Tuesday, please jump on in. :) Otherwise I'll pick 2 more and hopefully we have a crowd on Tuesday. 👍

That would be forward sir. I didn't even know there was a reverse available for that track. I didn't test the last two, just went with what was already on the spreadsheet so at least those are proven. :)

Sorry - I'm not up with "terms" - but What does Slider mean?

Sorry bout that. The quick gear ratio slider that adjusts all gears and overall top speed. The only thing the slider does not alter is the final drive which always seems to be 4.62 in bone stock form.

Obviously with the shifters there are infinite transmission tuning options but Kcheeb always tried to keep it simple so I didn't want to go into the specifics of all the individual gears. For instance, the last time we ran the shifters at Mazda I ran a different 3rd and 4th than the sheet. It wasn't any faster but I like the timing of the shifts and the rate of deceleration better through turn 3.

I will update the spreadsheet for the Nur D and 246 trans a bit later today. I'm pretty sure the Nur D gearing should be good as I pulled a solid draft on somebody yesterday in testing and didn't top out. At 246 I didn't get an opportunity to see how it was in the draft so I dialed in plenty of room.
