Sorry about the lag guys. Ridiculously frustrating when I've done everything I can think of to combat it... Have a good one guys, guess GT6 wants me to stick to real racing now :P:indiff:

Sorry I didn't make it last night guys, I did set my alarm but somehow I didn't hear it even though I set it at max volume :( Will put giant speakers next to my ears next time :lol:
Room was full tonight, good thing you got your beauty sleep!

1. Nordschleife (but I don't run it much anymore.. I think I've done a few thousand too many laps)
2. Bathurst
3. Brands Hatch
4. Laguna Seca
5. Silverstone (several layouts)
6. Willow (streets)? Or Ascari, I can't pick. I'm bad at this. I always forget stuff I like.

Did I mention I like tight and technical tracks? Lets do a shifter kart night >)

No not really... but I think our race director should check out the RenaultSport Clio R.S. '11! I think it would a great car to replace the BRZ if we want to mix it up. It's by far the best driving FWD car in GT6, on SH tires it feels like it has a ton of grip.

@Nail-27

Since I am partial (a fanatic?) about running karts. I like Connor's idea about having a Shifter Kart night.
And not just on the tight tracks all the time. Get out in the country and let the Beast go.
Drafting would be quite the experience on a very long stretch.

But most tracks are just flat out :rolleyes: And the GT6 physics of a kart are just... Really unrealistic. The most fun track I've driven in GT was the GT5 Tokyo Bay (something), it had straights, hairpins, chicanes and everything a race track would have.

I did a kart event over the weekend in a fun room. We raced at Laguna. With all assists off it was very close racing with the leader and last place being within 5 seconds of each other. First and second finished within .100s.

Imagine what it would have been ....... if you had the Boost turned on - as we do on Monday Nights.

Lets try the clionext week....no frigging carts YET. They are too intense for new guys. How did last night go...I was dopier than usual due to oxycodone and would have been more of a hazard to navigation that normal :lol:

I'll load up and run some laps in it for you. Last night was good, we ran in a public room so the new guys could play too. Multiple races we fielded a full field, and I think its "almost" a good idea to run them publically so we can get some fresh blood in here

If we make our club room public we need to have some ground rules clearly stated in the room name. That's the first place a random can get an idea of the type of room it is without entering. I wonder if putting SNAIL will get recognized by the general public or we should leave that out for more space for words like "CLEAN" or "FRIENDLY"

I can also run with the clio, I suppose we take out the BRZ and leave it as a 3 car show? I'm PM'ing you now Ned on some maintenance stuff

@RobbiefromBC
I really missed racing with you last night Robbie. I hope the internet gods will be less capricious next time. maybe we should all be racing vees instead! Anyway, I hope next week will be better for you!
:cheers:

@Nail-27
i will wait and see which tracks aren't picked and i will select my picks fom those. i really want to race all the real world circuits and city tracks. With a few original tracks thrown in, too. with the group we have here, any track makes for a great learning opportunity! Maybe we could also select 5 cars we'd like to drive? I know you've said boost doesn't work as intended with the higher pp cars but, I really love the greaves lmp2 and around la sarthe and spa think it would be a blast.
I really suck at karts so i probably need to drive them more but have no issues with fwd. I think having a mix of drivetrains would be helpful as we never know what might get selected for sundays.

WANTED:
-Two back up hosts
-A second host
Hey folks, we're looking for a couple backup hosts on Monday nights in case of another case of what happened yesterday. We're also looking for a second main host ready to jump out and make a second room if things fill up in the first room. We want everyone to experience the thrills of Monday, and it's starting to look like we'll need two rooms for things to work out for everyone.

If you're interested, please reply to this post and I'll get you set up in a conversation.
Thanks a ton, race on guys!

I have no problems hosting Miata's as a backup or the official 2nd. I host practice rooms and public lobbies on an almost daily basis.

No FWD or I won't show up. Sorry but those are my rules. I hate racing in FWD and standard cars
You're missing out. Try the Clio. You might learn something. ;)

Renaultsport Clio R.S. '11.....what tires? Are you sure the SH will give new guys enough grip?

It comes on CS and SH feels like a lot of grip to me, I think it should work well! It should be 403pp from the dealership.

I only suggested it since I saw a bunch of other suggestions floating around that I don't think would be very good for this series (IMO) and that is one car that I feel is VERY overlooked in GT6. Easily the best FWD car I've driven, comparable in specs/performance to the FRS/BRZ but a little more fun and a little more focus on steering with the pedals to be really fast (but still easy to drive). Like the Miata it's extremely 'tossable'.

Edit: After testing SM tires I'm thinking they will probably be closer to what we're used to for Monday nights!

As much as I love karts, I don't think it would be fun for most people on Mondays. Too much chaos.

Woo I double posted!

Hmmmm - I bow to the opinions of the differing view.
I withdraw my recommendation of Karts for Monday nights.

So I've been out for a few weeks tending to family vacation duties. I really missed SNAIL, and after looking at that picture, can't wait to get back to Monday night pack racing. I'll be watching the thread because it sounds like you guys have been trying some new things. Whatever it is, I'm game... with no whining. Let's pack race with some boost on!
