I've always liked the elevation changes at GVS. Reminds me of Apricot Hill, my all-time favorite track. I wonder how that little Elise would run there? I'm thinking it may redline to quick. Gives me something to do tonight.
"too quick" :D
I don't know, as I haven't tested either, but I don't think it has enough ponies to limit itself. Maybe red line, but not limit. Possibly in a draft...

Edit: but it's time for her to leave. Been around long enough. :mischievous: Don't go away mad, just go away.

MERRY CHRISTMAS from festive D8 to all of SNAIL..

Thanks to everyone in D8 who took the time to paint their cars and get in the Christmas spirit and thanks for another fun season of racing! Have a safe and Happy Holiday.!

Yes, the Elise....the Evil Temptress

People sure do like the Nissan GTR.
It seems like some version of that car gets picked to race every 2 or 3 weeks.
Funny thing is for a car that's so popular I don't think I've seen a real one. Are they still only sold in Japan?

On a side note someone mentioned Bathurst...that was the first track I raced on when I started in SNAIL back in February. I know we tried since then with no success.

I DON'T GET IT!?!?
I enjoyed the GT-R immensely. I thought it provided the best racing of the night. One can pass without having to rely on a mistake from the ahead driver. It is stable yet can be spun out if one hammers the gas to soon or not smoothly coming out of turns. We had some GREAT racing with that combo!!! Trading places, racing door to door thru corners; even the esses after the high speed left! Truly great, close racing!!!

Almost the same with the NSX. It took a bit more car control but provided good close races as well.

These two combos had cars that would "suck up" with enough "umph" to pass; as well as the ability to change lines without sacrificing time or speed. Yet they got the most votes.

I'm not quite sure what others are looking for... The Elise is sluggish, spins like a top, no acceleration out of corners, doesn't "suck up", and no power to really pass. Spinning tires (or the whole car) is a constant concern. It's a"wait for the mistake" type of race. Maybe I'm just weird but I like the previous style of races. Great handling, power too overtake, and will suck up in a draft.... :boggled::confused:

(Just my opinion because it seems to be vastly differing from the majority) :)

My arrogant opinion:

Elise at GVS - 👍 fine combo - enough of a challenge without being too crazy, risk/reward to the max (just don't get stuck with AT :grumpy:)

NSX at Suzuka - 👍👎 fine car, meh track - I swear to God the astroturf is coded as grass (or ice, maybe slime) and makes the tires 'dirty' which doesn't make any GD sense. I've had my best races here, just too stressful when that green goop touches me...

GTR at Silver (my vote) - 👎 fine car, crap track - just a flat tortilla of a track, bottom of my list for all time

@singlepaddy "Funny thing is for a car that's so popular I don't think I've seen a real one. Are they still only sold in Japan?"

Come on down to California! I know of at least two in my little po-dunk home town... No more exceptional than seeing a new C7 really, same price range...

A guy in my neighborhood owns one... I see it every now and then...really nice

I'm playing with an idea to get D7 and D8 to get more door to door racing training on Monday Night Miatas..and having a bit of fun. Would all you guys in D8 like to have your own Pack Room. I can set it up easily so the only interlopers would be @joe_diben and @Nail-27 . And if we don't get enough bodies ( we need around 6-8) from D8 we can invite some D7 guys. Talk it over on your thread and one of you pm me. Trust me...this is serious fun...we don't even keep score anymore...and you will not end up in a TT by yourself....the boost sucks you right back to where you should be.

Merry Christmas again everyone.

I'm so glad we have different opinions on the various combos. If we all like the same combo it will never get voted off.... uhmm on second thoughts that kinda happened with the Vantage :sly:

EDIT - Has anyone run some laps lately on The Forgotten Track... a.k.a Panorama? Do we still have sound issues? It's a great track for prize winners to keep in mind.

I've tested there several times without any problems...tough layout.

Hey there.

I'd like to join S.N.A.I.L. Racing.

@SolidSnake7735

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!

Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You take the SNAIL OLR and Racecraft Test

2. You run the Time Trial and submit your information by 23:59 EST on Saturday night if you want to race this Sunday.

3. @JLBowler PM's you with your assigned Division that we feel will give you the closest competition. You will be added to the drivers list.

4. SNAIL Administrators will reach out to you via a GT Planet conversation with further instructions on joining the SNAIL [Spec] Racing club. Sunday races are organized exclusively through the GT6 Community features within the game. To find your assigned room on Sunday please follow the steps below:
  1. Go to Community, from the GT6 My Home screen.
  2. Select Clubs
  3. Select SNAIL [Spec] Racing
  4. Select Club Lobby (on left) not Club Events
  5. Find your division room #, select it and join.
5. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.

6. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.
If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL

quick question whats the snail club id#

That information will be given out during the registration process in a private conversation.

On a related topic. This is the end of a monthly season and the time that promotion, relegation, and division leveling is done. Any new members will be slotted in to a division toward the end of the promotion, relegation, and division leveling process. This means that new members will not receive their division placement messages as fast as they normally would.

If you are registering with SNAIL this week, please be patient as there is a lot going on right now. I will get your placement message out to you in plenty of time to be ready to race for the start of the new season on Jan. 3.

This is an odd question, but does anyone have a G27 wheel they're looking to sell? Just the wheel base, I don't need pedals or the shifter.

We had a GT-R at the last Autocross- throaty RAWWWRRR on accelerate but the weight hurt it a bit. His girlfriend drove a tuned Mustang that was pretty. The GT-R just looked mean.

i see them everywhere in vegas, as a matter of fact one of my neighbors just bought one......

I was planning to upgrade the actual 'wheel'' with a Momo or something like it.... but not sure if you also need the whole assembly (motor). ??

You guys remember waaay back in the summer when I posted that video of one of our teams renters racing my grandfather in the 2014 F.A.R.T. Invitational Race? Well, I've finally found where my dad's footage from up front went to and I finally uploaded it to Youtube. This clip is shot from the front of my dad's ride, and it captures a pretty sweet dogfight with the likes of Dennis Andrade (#7), Bob Posner (#4), Adam Munn (#12), and Jim McAdie (#107). Dennis And Bob have gone to the SCCA Runoffs many times, and are some of the fastest (And skilled) Vee drivers in the Pacific Northwest.

I encourage you to take a look at the video and who knows, you might just pick up some tips for you to use come Sunday night!

Merry Christmas!

I have to admit I am very excited for another Cat & Mouse tonight 8:30 pm EST. We had 15 last week.

Cats - Dealer PP 505 or less (no race or Rally cars) - 2 cats per team.

Wildcat (aka odd man out), was something over 600 PP.

Winner- team with first Mouse to be pushed/raced across the line.
