The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - Honda NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car (Sport Soft tires) at Suzuka Circuit 2014 -
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @DMacs13 wins Prize A, they get to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - GT-R NISMO GT3 Nissan GT Academy Team RJN '13 (Racing Medium tires) at Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit -
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @LLOYDZELITE69 gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @kickenit4evr so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history or other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated,so picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more importantis that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, no car you select should not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting. Also, please be sure to list the PP and HP (after oil change) of any car you select.

Car Selection Guidelines
Dealership Cars - The maximum price for a selected car is now $1,000,000
DLC Cars - Only DLC cars that are FREE and currently still available in the PlayStation Store can be selected.

Track Selection Guidelines
Any non-DLC track can be selected as long as a single lap with the car combo'd with it would not take more than five minutes to complete. For example, don't select anything that includes the Nurburgring's Nordschleife.

Uh oh... @DMacs13 is the most recent Prize A winner to forfeit his choice by not responding in the thread!

I hope it doesn't repeat.

I know @JLBowler will keep choosing Prize A timely, and D5 will come up with suggestions should that be necessary.

I sent a PM update to @DMacs13 this morning. Waiting for a reply or update from him.

Edit: It only took me three tries to get that worded to the point where I liked it.

I DON'T GET IT!?!?
I enjoyed the GT-R immensely. I thought it provided the best racing of the night. One can pass without having to rely on a mistake from the ahead driver. It is stable yet can be spun out if one hammers the gas to soon or not smoothly coming out of turns. We had some GREAT racing with that combo!!! Trading places, racing door to door thru corners; even the esses after the high speed left! Truly great, close racing!!!

Almost the same with the NSX. It took a bit more car control but provided good close races as well.

These two combos had cars that would "suck up" with enough "umph" to pass; as well as the ability to change lines without sacrificing time or speed. Yet they got the most votes.

I'm not quite sure what others are looking for... The Elise is sluggish, spins like a top, no acceleration out of corners, doesn't "suck up", and no power to really pass. Spinning tires (or the whole car) is a constant concern. It's a"wait for the mistake" type of race. Maybe I'm just weird but I like the previous style of races. Great handling, power too overtake, and will suck up in a draft.... :boggled::confused:

(Just my opinion because it seems to be vastly differing from the majority) :)

Any other time I would agree with you, but to me the Elise is actually pretty fun to drive once you find the limit. I for one hated the other two combos this week. The GTR was a sluggish ill-handling understeering pig, while the NSX was basically rear-steering and sliding into and through every corner.

I felt the opposite. I was able to pass quite well with the Elise and felt the GT-R was more difficult, with most passes being made after a mistake. I've never liked the NSX combo.

Any other time I would agree with you, but to me the Elise is actually pretty fun to drive once you find the limit. I for one hated the other two combos this week. Lol...hence, my post. It is already coming to fruition..

My D8 opinion, I agree with both of you. Since I've been in SNAIL, I think this weeks line-up was the best so far. I liked the challenge of competing in cars that I wasn't really comfortable in at the beginning. Lots of help from fellow SNAILS to get somewhat of a handle on being uncomfortably quicker come race time.

1. Elise-Liked this combo the most, brake straight, turn it, and get on the gas.
2. GT-R- Second favorite because it was more of a finesse car, smooth driving won it every time.
3. NSX- It really wasn't about the car as much as it was adjusting to it after driving one of the other cars. It took me a few laps just to get the feel for the combo again. I just tried to stay up front for the first few laps and let the combo come to me and then inch my way forward.

While I didn't race Sunday night, I did do some practice races on Saturday and the TTs Sunday. The Elise was built to run at GVS. I hated that car at the previous venues with a passion. At GVS it shines. The NSX was the toughest for me at a track I'm usually really good at. The GTR was, at first, an understeering pig. The thing I found with it is, a touch on the brakes as your turning will get that car to rotate almost as bad as the Elise at Twin Ring, but with the benefit of plenty of power to pedal the throttle a little and bring it back online with little to no fuss. Had I raced, I would have voted for the NSX this week. The Elise was such a blast at GVS and the GTR just had good power and after figuring out how to use the brake oversteer, the understeer became less of an issue for me.

I found the Elise was a car that, like other, recent combos, forced you to line up your pass a few corners in advance, and really be 'ready' to step out and try to grab it. Yes, there are spots where things can go awry, and snatch those crumbs when you can!

For me, I'm tired of the Suzuka combo - and I like the variety. Think of it this way - there is a chance you'll like the new combo as much as the last one. As for the Silverstone combo, I don't mind it much, it suited me well enough, and it was close racing. Who knows, but I'll bet we'll likely have three good combos soon.

In most opinions I've heard about the GT-R/Silverstone combo was that it was the least realistic and the car "washed" off in turns heavily and unpredictably. Elise on the other hand was the best track for the car in my opinion and most found it the most fun combo in weeks including me. Suzuka, I thought just was overplayed at this point, that's why it probably got the most votes. Overall, this weeks combos were probably the best of the month imho. :)

I've always liked the elevation changes at GVS. Reminds me of Apricot Hill, my all-time favorite track. I wonder how that little Elise would run there? I'm thinking it may redline to quick. Gives me something to do tonight.

@FloptaStr8 I voted the NSX out just because the whole combo was around for a while and I got tired of it. The GT-R was a cool combo but honesty, I think GT Academy's home base deserves a better car.
The Elise definitely gained a new life at Grand Valley.

D4 was absolutely awesome this season. Every week had a different winner and it became common last week's winner finish at the bottom this week and vice versa.
It was really leveled, tight, fast and joyful.
Thanks D4's.

I'm so glad we have different opinions on the various combos. If we all like the same combo it will never get voted off.... uhmm on second thoughts that kinda happened with the Vantage :sly:

EDIT - Has anyone run some laps lately on The Forgotten Track... a.k.a Panorama? Do we still have sound issues? It's a great track for prize winners to keep in mind.

I love reading the post race "reports" on the combos. Differing insights and stances really showcase the differing driving styles. The most interesting thing I've read is the need to finesse the GTR. I personally found the harder I threw that thing around, the faster I went.

Here's some more forgotten tracks Blix:
Madrid
Tokyo Route 246
Ascari
High Speed Ring
If I was at home I would probably find another one or two.

I voted for combo 2 as well because it's been around for a few weeks now. One of the things I love about this leauge is that each week presents a new challenge, even with the change in venue. For example the Elise was difficult for me at BH, it became more manageable for me on Motegi but feel I've been most comfortable driving it at GV. In contrast the NSX / Suzuka combo was difficult for me however, I did surprisingly well there getting a feature win a couple weeks ago and two second place finishes there last week. That was definitely a "slow and steady wins the race" combo for me that I will strangely miss...
