I'm getting a little overwhelmed with the number of sims out there. Only have a 3 to 5 hours a week to play. I have pcars but the wheel settings overloaded my brain and I gave up. A.C. is awesome but haven't ventured online yet. Gt6 is by far the best online experience and I expect GTS to offer the same. So I've preordered it. Then there's F1 2017. Only really run the career mode, and it promises to be great, if you like F1.
Probably wait on pcars2 if I even get it at all. Not going to touch it if the wheel settings still requires weeks to set up.
My head is spinning.

Similar feelings about the saturation of the sim market, and my past GT experiences being overall above any of the competitors.

As my previous post in the 'future' thread, I'm looking forward to see what GTS has to offer; all the while some excitement is stifled by my own experiences surrounding the beta.

In particular I'm concerned, and honestly a bit abhorred as I've read Kaz's comments regarding how a driving simulator should not be difficult. Reading this, coupled with my experiences with the beta; I cannot help but feel a bit alarmed not unlike an investor holding Jerry Maguire's mission statement.

Without going into further details, I'll leave you with a quotation from a previous post of mine detailing my experiences, that still characterises my position as true as ever with a healthy dose of politically correct understatement.

The comment that I could use to best summarise the apparent overall approach is that PD is becoming more acutely aware of their greatest target market and tuning into the needs and desires of that group. Think about that for a moment; where 'we' collectively fall in a perspective of market-share, and you'll understand what I'm driving at.

My hopes are high, while I temper my expectations.

By sim-cade I hope it means keeping the game easy to use, IE not require weeks to set up the wheel. I know some people want to be able to play with every setting possible, but that's not me. If the physics can be close to A.C. I'll be happy. Not to worried that the tire temps were off a few degrees and tire pressures can't be adjusted. I just want to race.

I don't think GT6 was far off. PCARS is just weird for me (Probably the wheel settings), and A.C. is as I would expect a car to drive.

Make GTS more realistic and difficult to "over drive " cars. Add the aids for those that need it (don't, it's like crack, get off it)...we end up with a beautiful and fun game.

Yeah, my guess is that's what they know they need to do. With PC2 and GTS coming out like 3 weeks apart we all know the web arguments are going to be flying fast & furiously. Problem is, as has been eluded to, I don't think these two titles are even marketed toward the same core group of customers. The racing game genre has really gone through a transformation in recent years and thusly so has its followers. Unfortunately, I probably will not buy it just because I'm off the PS platform. Maybe when it's $20 I'll pick up just for the heck of it.

Not to mention most of what is out there currently, when it comes to information used to compare these two games, is GTSport the console game vs PCars2 the PC game. Probably only once PCars is released will we see actual console comparisons between the two.

I'm thinking the core group for both pcars and GTS are more alike than not.
I was motivated to pick pcars, and A.C., and have ordered GTS.

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!
Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join SNAIL Racing League:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add @CoachMK21, @JLBowler, @nmcp1 & @zer05ive as participants. The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing club. Sunday races are organized exclusively through the GT6 Community features within the game.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread. If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL

From @praiano63

gts physics are similar to gt6 but a lot more sensitive and everything in the right way and also working well. camber , toe, springs....... I love it . AC is a few better talking about real sensations but gts forgive a bit more , this allow very close hard racing. It a lot of fun really.
I'm totally hooked.
Also graphics are fantastic.

Saw this post on a GTS Discussion Forum:

Man, after GT5 press shots I thought it can't look any better but now...
This is ridiculous!

Also this:
"The interior of a car is filled with a variety of sounds, including engine sounds, transmission noise, exhaust sound, road noise, wind noise and more. In Gran Turismo Sport, not only are real world cars are bench tested and recorded in optimal environments, a sound simulator has been developed in collaboration with the audio technology department of Sony Corp in order to recreate an ‘optimal sound’ that even takes into account the mechanism behind human aural recognition."

@pubason , Bryan-no,no,no. I don't have any idea what surrounds this decision of yours to quit this past time that we all know you love, This community has been blessed with your presence and all that you have done to support and nurture it,and I for one am grateful. Life has it's ups and downs, and the people that surround you,the community of Family and Friends, make the downs more bearable and the ups more enjoyable. I feel that this community is an extension of Family,I am glad that this group found me and invited me to be a part of it,you have been an example of what being a SNAIL means, giving without asking for anything in return, spending your time and money to help those within this community by giving them wheel and pedal sets that you worked on and fixed for that purpose. Coaching,Teaching,Hosting,Data, replays, moving to the back of the field to race with the noob's to help them get accustomed to racing with this awesome group of like minded individuals. These are but just some of the many ways you have contributed to all of us for our entertainment. If never we meet again,I can say that you have enriched my experience in this thing called life, and am glad to call you my Friend and will miss your presence, squeaking chair, minions and all!

Best Regards for a bright future and health to you and your Family!,
