Occationally, the host would experience traction control settings which he had not chosen prior to race. I experienced this too during practice, where my TCS was on and flashing even though I had set it to off and room was set for it to be off.

This just happened to me in the practice lobby and I wasnt even host. I didnt 'enter' the course before the race, and I ended up having tcs on and shaved 6 seconds off my lap times. So make sure everyone gets on the track before the race. At least thats my guess as to why it happened.

It also sounds like it may change your tire compound too.

I must apologies' for my absence!
My simple move was not Simple!
I had to rewire the place; (switch was refrigerator), and more.
Basically I moved into 50% complete pad!

I am making good progress and the Rig Was Top priority and is good, I just devote the time at this time.

see you soon!

Great pic @Wolfsatz, but we're ".org" not ".com" :D

I had considered going with ".com" since it's the most popular top-level domain, but decided against it because we're not a commercial operation and we're not selling any products. Also, nothing really described us better than "organization". :)

Fixed!

I figured this would be relevant to post seeing as though you guys are racing it this week;View attachment 684680

A few weeks ago I got to drive this GT4 around our local racetrack as I was instructing for a lapping day. By far the most impressive car I’ve driven. It did everything I wanted it to plus some. It’s got great brakes, it goes where you point the wheel with next to no understeer, oversteer was very predictable and controllable. Of course when you step on the loud pedal it’s a rocketship, and the sound of that flat six singing away makes the hair on your neck stand up... If only I had a couple hundred grand laying around...

You guys will love this car if it’s anything like it is in real life
Funny thing is Robbie, how many people take this "virtual" car on track and wreck it on the first lap? I just finished an online race with a GT4 Porsche (maybe not on GTSport :embarrassed:), and I got P2 in a full room. I started in the back because I joined late and didn't qually. Everybody just kept driving off track. The car does exactly what you ask it to, unless you ask too much. I'm so excited for you; That you were trusted with this beauty. I see good things in your future, mate. 👍

That's always been the difference between real and virtual though, the same people that wrecked the Porsche right away in a game, would likely baby it around a real race track, knowing the cost of repairs and injuries are a real consequence.

Let's propose a consistent qually procedure for tonight:

For the first combo:
1. As always, the host opens the room at 9:00 PM Eastern and as the drivers come in they can enter the track to make sure there are no connection issues - and immediately proceeds to the last corner before the start finish straight and wait in that area.
2. Typer enters "Proceed to Last Corner" as new drivers enter
3. At 9:30 pm, after everbody is at the last corner and there are no further connection issues, the typer will enter the message "Qually Starts" (Host take note of the time stamp, or run his own stop watch or something)
4. Drivers space themselves out a bit and start their hot laps.
5. After 5 minutes the host starts the race. (If there are late comers, they will still get in, but they will automatically start at the back if they can't get a hot lap in)
6. Scorekeeper, please take note of the fastest qually time and enter the time in the score sheet

For the Second and third combos:
1. Host change room settings
2. Everybody enters the track and immediately proceeds to the last corner (Typer enters "Proceed to last corner")
3. When everybody is there, typer enters "Qually Start". (Host take note of the time stamp, or run his own stop watch or something)
4. Drivers space themselves out a bit and do their hot laps
5. After 6 minutes for the Porsche or 5 min for the Ferrari, the host starts the race.
6. Scorekeeper, please take note of the fastest qually time and enter the time in the score sheet

With the first Combo there will be about 5, maybe 6 laps available, so there is enough time to get a hot lap in
With the Prosche there is an extra minute, so you easily get two hot laps
With the Ferrari the second hot lap might be a little tight, so don't defend your position if you made a mistake - please let a faster car through without impeding him.

Gentlemen, I have returned.

It has been a long, long time since I raced with you guys, but with my getting a PS4 and the release of GT Sport, I've decided to return (less-than-triumphantly) to racing. What must I do to get back to active status?

For the first combo:
1. As always, the host opens the room at 9:00 PM Eastern and as the drivers come in they can enter the track to make sure there are no connection issues.
2. At around 9:29 the Div Manager/Host call on all the drivers to do an outlap (Typer enters "Proceed to Last Corner") and stop before the last corner before the start/finish straight (This is to have reasonably warm tires available at the qually start)
3. After everubody is there, the typer will enter the message "Qually Starts" (Host take note of the time stamp, or run his own stop watch or something)
4. Drivers space themselves out a bit and start their hot laps.
5. After 5 minutes the host starts the race. (If there are late comers, they will still get in, but they will automatically start at the back if they can't get a hot lap in)

What are the proposed intervals for the start during qualy?

...maybe the call to the track should be 10min to? Lots of issues with drivers not seeing one another. If drivers get on track at the last minute with problems we are going to have a long night of delays.

I agree. Get to the point that qualifying is going to start as soon as you enter the room. You will just have to sit there until it's time to start qualifying. I know that is hard to do for some but develop some patience and get it right.

I updated the first line in the procedure

If you all line up in a line as you arrive at the last corner, you can pull away one by one after about 5 counts, but it is up to the drivers to find the space. We don't have many people in the rooms tonight, so it will be a bit easier to find space. Please give feedback after the race on what worked well or not.

Note as to driving to "Last Corner" prior to Qually:

Do not drive backward on the track to go to last corner!!!

Make a normal lap around the track Stopping before the Final Corner - line up behind the cars that are ahead of you.

Going backward on the track will not start a Fresh Timing Clock when you cross the Start/Finish line. (causing you to lose a qualifying lap time)

Did you submit your TT by noon eastern time yesterday?

No, I had an issue refinding the post and exactly where to post the information. I would click the cursor inside the text box and nothing was happening. I didn't know I had to click on the gray colored text in order to fill the information. Not racing tonight after practicing is going to be disappointing.

The SNAIL Sunday Scoring Sheets are prepared and is ready to go for tonight

I still havent seen a d4 conversation or seen any duties assigned.

I will help with what I can but I’ve been gone for too long to be the division manager.
