As of this post, here is the current list of picks for the ButtKicker Challenge VI. If you are a finalist, please read the instructions that I've sent to all of you. Once you're authorized to make your numbers selections, click the 'Reply' button below and then add your GTP Username next to any numbers that are still available. Be sure that you don't make more picks than the number of picks you have earned. Once you're done making your picks, you need to delete the text above the ButtKicker logo (it looks like this: [qu0te="username, post: 1234567, member: 123456"]). After you've deleted that, hit the 'Post Reply' button down below. Please be sure that you are replying to the most current list before making your picks. Good luck! :cheers:

I am interrupting this current drama for some breaking news;
I chose to freeze the TRACK.
@JLBowler @THRASH

@THRASH We still need a car. Practice is tonight. Please respond by Noon ET and let us know you'll have something in time for practice. If we haven't heard from you by then, there will be a very quick nomination and vote process to pick the new car.

Just a random question I’ve always wondered but I’m sure I am overthinking it. Is there a formula that SNAIL follows to what the order of the races are. Like oldest first newest last?

The order is determined as follows:
1. By tire type (low performance to high performance tires)
2. If tires are the same we use a performance factor (PF) where the lower PF will be ahead of the higher PF

The PF is determined by a (controversial) formula taking HP and weight into account.

For this week the PF for the Subie is 13.9 and for the Honda it's 24.9

I can just see the start of the reverse grid race in D1 this weekend.... Me driving a brick from the front row while the majority just whistle by. :( :rolleyes: :grumpy:

Hmmmm...

We had a whole week (maybe 2) of no cars with a drastic shifter advantage. I'm inclined to just take an extended break until I can setup my rig again and join this shifter circus.

edit
If a driver is caught from behind during qualifying, they must get off the racing line and allow the driver that caught them to pass without incident.[/USER]

@JLBowler quick question, keep in mind this is all hypothetical and hasn't happened to me (that I know of).

What happens if a driver is caught during qualifying, but when the lap started the "chasing" driver wasn't 5~ seconds behind.
As it stands, there aren't any specific rules about the speed you must take the out lap - and theoretically the "chasing" driver could catch a significant portion of the 5 second gap during the outlap.

Who's responsibility is it during the outlap to make sure the 5~ gap is maintained?

It doesn't matter when the ahead driver gets caught. It is their responsibility to let the faster driver go. The responsibility doesn't lie alone with either driver to maintain the gap. The driver's responsibility is to wait 5 seconds at the start and if someone gets caught, they need to move over.

Thank you!

Anyone ever used FANATEC products?
Thinking of getting this.

I have the Fanatec CSL Elite along with CSP V3i Pedals. Highly recommended. Make sure you order from Fanatec's website and not Amazon.

@Neutty has had to return his for service and I too initially had a centering problem but they fixed mine in a timely manner and I've had no issues since. That was over a year ago.

edit... for a long while Amazon didn't have the Fanatec gear available... Anyone know if Amazon price matches? I have some Amazon credit that has all of a sudden become very warm and fuzzy in my pocket.

If you order from amazon they say it’s over a week out for shipping. Go to Fanatec for the shifter order it from there and they will redirect you to amazon and then you can use it. @nmcp1

I have the CSL Elite wheel and V3i pedals, excellent build quality and the wheel is buttery smooth. Haven't had any issues with it at all and it's been over a year. When I order mine (from Fanatec) the V3i pedals were on a six month back-order, so I got the CSL two pedal set to use in the mean time. The CSL pedals are all metal construction and the spacing of the pedals is very easily adjusted. The brake pedal has a little foam wedge behind it to give it a bit of a progressive feel. The pedals also have rubber face plates covers which are easily removed leaving smooth (sock friendly) metal plates.
