Bit of a delay on my part, but I have now made the banners.

It was very awkward to make the 2nd one, I probably should have resized it first. Oh well, it's all part of an on-going process of getting these just right.

My source for the course maps has decided to go kaput on me, so I have to get these from Google.

No, but that was the way it was done before, and I don't have photoshop, so doing it that way is easiest for me.

I had started doing these in absence of @Troggy, and I wanted to keep these going.

Sign this person. NAOW!

In answer to your question, the banners were done that way to maintain standardization. While I'm all for keeping it simple, I like your banners better than the standard we've been using up to now. In the end, it's @zer05ive 's call as to what the accepted standard is and which to use, since it's his post that the banners are used in.

I'm interested in running in a division with people about my speed.

@Loxley

Here's your official S.N.A.I.L. Welcome Post!

Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the S.N.A.I.L. OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You take the S.N.A.I.L. OLR and Racecraft Test

2. You run the Time Trial and submit your information by 23:59 EST on Saturday night if you want to race this Sunday.

3. @JLBowler PM's you with your assigned Division that we feel will give you the closest competition. You will be added to the drivers list.

4. Send a PSN friend request to the Race Director or Primary Host from your assigned SNAIL Division. Sunday night you will need to sort the online lobbies by friends and join the lobby named 'snailracing.org Division_(x) based off your Division placement from JLBowler. That lobby will be where you race Sunday.

5. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

The original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.
If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to S.N.A.I.L.

I like them and they are the first real improvement I have seen. Just keep in mind the time it takes and who else can do them if you are not around. The only thing I would suggest is make the track black or at least give it a try.

saved it as a template by now already, just incase, so new ones take about 5 minutes
its just a matter of switching out the photos and text now
but since Azure Flare said he would like to continue these, i dont really want to "steal" his position
i would feel really bad cause im the new guy here, this sunday is only my second races with snail
but if one day he decides he doesnt wanna do them, im happily going to do them
also offered my help in creating a proper website for snail instead of organizing it with posts

the tracks were black as standard i just tried to make em look less harsh by having them transparent
i figured it was clear enough with the outlining with the shadows
(except GVS could have been better but the photo wasnt the best to use)

These banners look awesome. The only thing, I would make sure to have the text the same in all 3 banners. Also add the number of laps and qualifying mins. The rest......:)👍

yea i was experimenting with fonts,
i liked the one i used on the BMW the most, looks clean and fresh
but i quickliy realised that it wouldnt work with longer names like the amemiya

Well, you just found a way to piss me off...

Blatantly 1-upping me because you have more at your disposal. Nice job.

I'm not exactly happy when someone does anything like that, I had already done my work, there was no need for someone else to the same thing.

Really?

On a better note it was a blast with the late night Saturday crew. You guys are the best group of racers. So much trust and camaraderie it is everything that snail should be. We should do an official race Saturday night;)

Wow, these look great!

Please don't take it that way as he wasn't trying to 1-up you. He just felt there was a way to improve upon something and so he offered a suggestion. That has happened countless times in the history of SNAIL, and it's enabled us to continuously improve and refine over time. It's nothing personal. As I said here, I appreciated you stepping up and doing the banners when you noticed that they hadn't been done in a while. That's the type of mentality that makes us tick. However, another thing that makes us tick is that we are always looking for ways to improve - in all aspects of the league. If he was 1-upping your banners, he was 1-upping everybody else's banners too. But again, that wasn't his intention so please don't take it personally.

also as the one that created the banners in the first place I am happy to see someone take it further. Especially with the attitude he has instead of how dare someone try to make snail better!

That's what I was thinking too. If anyone should fee "one-upped", it should be you since that was your banner design. Then again, the last time somebody tried to one-up your banners, he rage-quitted the league three weeks later because he got a penalty he didn't agree with.
