Shocky. It would be a big loss to the guys in D8, keep your duties and ride past this little hiccup. I'm not out here crying foul or anything (not that you are). This is their league, their rules and they have the right to manage it as they seem fit, you and I give them that when we join... and for the most part they do a good job. I'm choosing to walk away because it's the part that they could be doing great that would get them to the level of some of the Iracing leagues and such. But on the whole, not bad. You're a natural leader, stay put and have fun.
I truly hope you change your mind this morning after a nights sleep. Trying to manage a league of this size and stature is not an easy task, and unfortunately, every once in awhile there will be a hiccup that will upset some. You are one of those people that come along and want to help and learn, and you have indeed learned alot in your short time here. It would be a shame for you to walk away with that knowledge and commitment you had. I have really enjoyed our on and off track time together, it was fun and that's what counts! Please stay.

Ok so I read every post and took my life into consideration I have decided. That I will be doing GT Racecamp I will not only attempt to teach during the camp but also on free time in lobbies where I'll also be practicing. I figure this time I'll make my camp both as scheduled as I can but also free spirited so I can just go and teach whenever I can. All who agree with this please respond and like. And give me your honest opinions on what you think of the idea and for those that have go.e through the camp in the past any idea on how to improve it? Any criticism is appreciated whether it brutally honest or complimenting. I thank you all very much for the encouragement.
I attended your camp in Tokyo and you did an excellent job with the old Toyota.

Camps that I would like to see:
1. Different characteristics in handling between FR, FF, MR, RR, 4WD.
a. How to make a car that tend to understeer turn in
b. How to controll a crazy overteering animal (Lotus Elise, Yellow Bird, etc)
2. Look at certain sections of different tracks (chicanes, S-Curves, Long corners, blind corners, etc) and how to navigate different types of cars through them. (What do you do different to "find time...")
3. Maybe limit the room to 8 or 9 people because it might take a bit of time to handle 15 students in a an hour or two.
I agree with Rednose's suggestions. The only other thing I can think of would be to speed things along more quickly. A potential example from my Grand Valley Turns 1-2 race camp way back when:
Instead of having everyone in their car, lined up and ready to take the turn sequence, have half of the drivers off the track in Binoculars mode and have the other half on track lapping, then we all zoom in on the driver approaching the sequence being taught. Once they're done we all switch to the next approaching driver.

After reading what I've typed out I am not sure I am making any sense; basically I'm trying to think of a way to reduce the downtime produced by the setup of the lesson (the time between student A finishing and student B starting). At times we were spending more time waiting for the next student to get to the section of the track you were teaching than on the exercise itself (ex.: the last turn on Tokyo - we had to wait quite a while for the next driver to get around the track to our start point if they were not already queued up).

You make perfect sense. The binoculars allow you to view the driver being taught or the instructor; much like a replay.
I do like your idea!

Ok one more I "Dug UP" after this process I haven't a clue!!! I did this just to show you cause you said you couldn't find a time stamp on a upload time so this was my Activity section of Google Drive!!

View attachment 240074
Doesn't change anything except I did upload it @ 12:41am after races! After the Upload???.. lol

We Move on!!!!

I never denied that you did. The activity log for the D8 folder shows what I sent you in a PM. The problem was, they weren't there when I looked, 30 minutes after the deadline expired. Either way, learning from this, and doing it differently next time should be part of that moving on.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.

@K1utch ...some suggestions for race camp:
1. Make sign-up mandotory
2. Limited class to 8 racers
3. Have multiple race camps (as time permits). Put out a schedule of when you plan to have your race camps and let people fill in their names in available spots.

just spit balling a couple other ideas here: have multiple camps (D4 camp, D5 camp, D6 camp and so on...) From the looks of it there are more than 8 people interested. Also , it may be helpful to record the sessions (if possible) for people who cannot attend?

Yea, I'm good. See ya this weekend.

@K1utch I have been looking for this for a long time and would definitely want to attend. I have pmed you to ask the time and generally how to attend your camp.

I would like to learn how to tackle different corners:
1. Fast sweep
2. Decreasing radius turns
3. Connected turns
4. Big hairpins
5. Small hairpins
6. 90 degree turn
7. The end of a straight
8. Slow corners

Second thing i want to learn is how to adapt driving any car i mean any car effectively and quickly.

Third i want to learn is the general principles that you approach when facing a new car on a new track.

Forth thing i want to learn is how to analyze data logger effectively to see how to dig out the potential improvement from faster driver.

Big big thanks in advance!!!!

I really need a inexpensive seat for my GT driving force wheel and pedals. So over the bean bag chair...Although it one of the faster bean bag chairs I've owned, it time to take the next step :) Any advice where to get an affordable set up ?

Not that it's anymore affordable than other set ups. But I've had the IonRax for about a week now. Very stable and solid and almost to much adjustment. I'm 6'1, 215 and this thing never moves. My girlfriend liked it so much she just ordered one. I've added my own keyboard / mouse tray.

Oh yea, the handbrake does work with the PS3 and GT6. Kinda reminds me of the handbrake in my old 77 Z28.

The scrap yard man. Go pull a comfy seat from a caddy or a Merc. Then build a wooden frame. I did something like this my first shot. Working on a new setup now though.

Thank you Wolf. It came as a nice surprise after a poor showing the previous week. The 350Z at Brands Hatch really suited me. I ended up with a win and a 2nd place with that combo and was sorry to see it go so quickly.

In fairness, there were a few guys missing but I'll take what I can get!

don't be modest... you got nmcp1, JLBowler, Gouletzky and Rednose.... so you had a handful of good fast drivers.
not that the others are slow... just haven't had the opportunity to share the asphalt with them...

I actually plan on staining it once my revisions are done, however the bro in law is moving out soon, so so the overall design has changed since I'll be taking back full ownership of my den age all the extra space it comes with.
