I agree with you. But also I like the idea from Owens. So do I.

I don't think anyone intentionally races to get IR's filed against them; some racers are willing to push the boundary of what's legal to the limit and added some mistakes here and there.

I know of some that took multiple IR filings for them to understand that my rear bumper or my inside quarter panel is not their brakes. Some learn and improve some may not.

That is actually @USERID_77a23 (D5) performing a sublime pass on a D3 driver which will remain unnamed!

but i want to study results and lap times from previous races so i need to know my divison

Only 1 of the combos from last week are here this week, so just look at that race (WSR @ Silverstone GP) and run some laps of your own and then compare across several divisions. This isn't rocket science, just practice and then show up to race in your division when you find out.

yeah problem daughter's watching frozen but that does give me an idea on how to figure out my division

Darn! beat me to it Coach.

DBD...just give it a few weeks, you'll get used to the flow of things. It's taken me about a month. In the meantime check out some of the other series or do like Coach said and practice the one that is still on the schedule. I'll send you a friend request tonight so you'll see me in the friends room practicing. You can often practice with some of the fastest guys in SNAIL and get a idea of the timing spread across the divisions, regardless of you're eventual divisional placement. After a few weeks here you stop focusing on divisional times anyway and start thinking more racecraft improvement.

Once you understand the awards process and car/track selection things will start to make sense a little more.

yeah i was in the pratice lounge last night so i just looked at the names of the drivers list versus my horrible times last night and i'm pretty sure i'll be d8

Division placement is normally done in batches and it's done 2 or 3 times a week depending on how many new members are coming in. I just did a batch yesterday morning so expect the next group to be placed tomorrow morning with the final driver's list for this week coming out Sunday morning.

Do you guys post the race replays so i can look over proper lines?

@Die_Birdy_Die we also host official pratice night tonight!

and that brings me to a few other ideas that has been discussed in my 'Thursday Night Practice' conversation.

3 main points:
  • Red Room would like to extend an invitation to any of the D1-D2-D3 drivers to join Red Room as a coach and help the slower divisions improve their race craft and timing.
  • While we open the RED and BLUE as open lobby rooms, current SNAILs should stick to their current division placement (D1-4 BLUE) AND (D5-8 RED). It was brought up to my attention that some times 'faster snails' show up in the RED room just so that they can win; this may be just a misinterpretation but may also have some validity. Please try to join the appropriate rooms and only move if the correct room is full.
  • For those that may remember, we can also open back the Yellow Room which is intended to be focused on race-craft and a mandatory yellow flag is waved in the middle of the race to bring the pack together again. Please let me know if there is enough interest in the Yellow Room.

See you tonight for Pratice

And the education begins. Save all your replays from practice and race days.

Wolf<> great idea with the practice rooms and I also noticed my improper use of the word you're and your in my previous post. :banghead: grammer cops!

that's why i'm being a pest getting to know the lobby and systems in place plus the daughter has the Playstation till 1130 and i have "watched" frozen every damn day this week so i'm bored trying to do what i can online to prepare for sunday

I know, I was the same way a month ago. More nervous about screwing up and it affecting someones race. Don't worry. Whatever division you end up in, all the drivers will know who the new guys are and work with them once you get in the race lobby.

I haven't met a single driver who wasn't willing to share whatever they know, one of the things that after I thought about it recently has kept me here in SNAIL. Just relax, practice when you can and show up on race day. I'll keep an eye out for you tonight in the practice lobby.

Ughhh, I'm sitting at work...gotta focus on work and not the GAME...lol. My productivity has decreased at work while my ability on the track has improved. Hmmmm.....

While we normally don't post our races online, it appears that a few have done so over the years. This should keep you occupied for a bit. 👍

SNAIL SPEC Racing videos on Youtube.

...and if I had a dollar for every time I've heard or watched something from Frozen, I'd buy everyone in SNAIL a new rig! :P It's the price us father's pay for making ours girls happy. :)

yeah i found a few from lloyd but thanks for the link thats what i was looking for!

I've been thinking about this over the last few days. With a few of the SNAILIENs preparing to host go faster camps, I am considering hosting a "clinic" that will focus on race strategy, race craft and SNAIL OLR questions. If there is any interest, I would be able to host up to 7 drivers at a time. Not testing my connection with more than that. Not sure what night, or day, to do this on, as I have yet to see a proposed schedule for the go faster camps.

PM me if you're interested.

Just looked through the playlist and I've gotta say, what's the with the videos of putting salt on snails or the assassin snail?

During the races on Sunday save your own replays.

And on Thursday night practice sessions, as well.

There are also YouTube videos of laps that others have done in GT6 on many of these tracks. While you may not find the exact car, you are likely to find a similar car, and that may help you find the lines... assuming the guy is decent, AND he isn't using all the driving aids. That is a tremendous difference - only use ABS so you can improve.

Hey! Put your visor down!
I hate how the regular helmet's visor doesn't close all the way. If you look in replays it's almost all the way down. Very annoying as it covers the design right about the visor opening. I like the open visor rally style but it has the bit that comes down to protect against sun. So you can't always see the eyes in a photo unless the camera is low and angles up

So we get to practice ONE combo tonight? Or have I missed something?

Turnupdaheat mentioned that he would have a car pick today.

I haven't seen anything from anyone in D1 making a suggestion for Lloydz to pick from.

The prize coordinators need to get on it and set some deadlines for those guys in D1 so we will have combos for practice tonight.

The d1 guys have been talking about combos in the D1 conversation

And as I posted in that D1 conversation, the suggestions need to be made in this thread to be considered. Yes, I know you didn't race so you can't suggest, I'm just reiterating that message.
Is there a way to bring quotes from the convo to this thread?

Old Copy / Paste.... just saying.

The car you will be driving at Nurburgring GP/D this Sunday is the Aston Martin V12 Vantage '10.

525 PP - 522 HP - Sports Soft Tyres.

I would expect lap times around the 1:36 mark give or take.

I'm not a photographer but this is what it looks like:

POWERRRRRR!!!!!! :cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

I should have predicted that you were going to pick a car from the Great Britain!

What happened to the WC Division ?
Unfortunately some who joined wanted to race in the normal divisions and switched. The attendance started to drop and I had to step back from running things and unfortunately no one was willing to step up and take over. If people want to race/hang out after SNAIL main events then let me know as I tend to be on late.

I'm still waiting for the others in D1 for suggestions. But seems like everyone's fingers are tied and no ones saying anything. We basically only have one combo in mind in our conversation, but no one as really agreed or talked about anything.
