@JLBowler : So sorry about the non response... Work was a real stinker today and only had a second to get a vote in. I just walked in the door so if mine does not count, it is my own fault. Again, my apologies for not getting it together sooner!

I vote for #3

Wow. So far the rig build has been moving along smoothly! With that luck I expect it to be in pieces when I get home tomorrow! But if progress keeps on I should be done Saturday. I also got GT6 all updated. I'll have to spend some time getting my profile and the alike set up too. And that community feature is looking nice.
I'm curious though. How much if what data does that MoTeC computer log and how much and what does gt6 do with it? Could it be used to fine detail on a custom track that we might be able to use it at a track day or even auto x? Ohhhh the potential, gt6 why must you tantalize me sooo. I really need that track creator already!

It doesn't matter, the points have all been tallied, but don't lose heart for your choice has triumphed!

I beg to differ.

From the GT6 Manual;

I don't recall any of the cars, tracks, gear, paints or parts, being made available through the Store. Nothing but silly credit purchase options.

I beg to differ and will prove my point with two simple questions

1. Is it content?
2. Did you download it?

If you answer yes to both of those questions then you have DLC. DLC is short for downloaded or downloadable content. The difference is in what type of DLC you're talking about. Paid, Free, or Forced if you want to play online. It's all DLC.

It seems that we can expect a very 'funky' Sunday.

PD is at it again:

Same thing happened in the red practice room. A couple drivers were listed as in the wrong car even though they were in the right ones.

Hey everyone. Sorry I did not get a vote in. Had a 14hour day today 10:30am- 12:30am. Did not lend much time for anything else. I like the result though and looking forward to some laps.

What's funny is @Neovre posted 3 posts later lol
Yeah man, he was holding out! :odd:

I can do mandarin/ Chinese too. that's where I'm from lol.
You knowing Chinese doesn't surprise me given your last name, but how did you pick up Japanese as well? And are you fluent?

I can count to ten in Japanese if that helps. Especially if I'm doing pushups or something usually.
Hey that's better than most! Here are three more words: ;)

Let's just hope he doesn't roll down East Hastings... You think he doesn't look impressed now?

Well he should be used to this damp cold weather, so it's not that, lol. I read that they are shooting up in the Okanagan with a Hennessey VelociRaptor. I'm sure they'll find plenty of great terrain to give it a go with!

I was doing some races with some friends on GT5, and it was an a snow track. We were both using those Samba Bus things, but on his screen, I was in an X1

Gt5 was really bad for that. At least once a month, when changing combos, someone would be on track still in the previous car, even though they had swapped cars. The funny thing is, while the car handled and behaved like the car it was supposed to be, like Wolf demonstrated, the car skin will still be wrong even in replays.

I was one of the victims last night. Went from the Fast Datsun to the Beamer on Spa. For everyone else it looked like I was still in the Fast Datsun. However when I looked at my own outside view I was in the Beamer.

Until PD fixes this the quick fix is to get out off the track. Get in a different car. Go in the pits. Get out again. Get in the right car and you're all set.

Samba Bus on Snow? That is quite a original and interesting concept. ..
flashback - Actually drove a '74 Samba Bus in Lake Tahoe in the middle of a major storm around 1991.. not the best snow car; actually got stock at the summit of Mount Rose @ExoSphere64 should be pretty familiar with; had to retrieve the Bus a few days later after digging it out.

funny.. this is the exact spot I got stock.

@Wolfsatz
Battling you is always a thrill and a joy, something that I still love it as we're so similar drivers. The only difference I'm noticing now is that perhaps, I make less mistakes than you but I worked very hard for that :)

So, with that completely provincial mindset, the entire internet is DLC.

DLC, as defined by the software authors, is that content that is independently acquired and not necessary for users to have, to play the game online. Anything else is considered updates and patches and not DLC. I reckon you and I will just disagree on this point and nothing either of us states will sway the other's stance.

Thi sis pretty spot on, updates and patches are not seen as DLC in in the dev world. DLC is content that you download for the sole purpose of adding in additional content. IE; maps, tracks, cars, weapons, skins, backgrounds etc. Anything else is an update or a patch is not considered DLC.

Is it safe to say DLC is actually optional content then? It seems like the differing opinions on DLC will reflect on the car and track selection rules we have.

DLC is always optional. Differing opinions will not change the rules for using DLC one iota. if it is free and available to all and can be bought in game for under the cap than it can be used. If it takes real world money, it can not.

To bring back my rally idea from GT5 and throw in a future round with the VGT's or not (futuristic Evo vs STI or something). It fell flat on its face back then, but we have a lot more people in here now.....

As far as I know, the DLC rule was applicable in GT5 only as the dlc's cost money and not everybody was willing to spend that money but on GT6, such content was never released.

I'm on board @tezgm99! Can't wait for them to bring the track creator out! So long as its able to do point to point tracks, I will be building quite a few real life rally stages, starting with Sno*Drift then LSRR.

Don't get too far ahead of yourself. This could turn out to be like it was in GT5, where you didn't have direct control over individual corners. You should know by now not to get too hopeful with this game and it's updates/additions!
