Those ideals could definitely work, but they're still not ideal. The winning number would preferably be something that is completely out any Snail's control. I also like the idea of simply linking to a website so that anyone can see the winning number posted for all of eternity (e.g. here or here). We'll revisit these ideas if the WEC doesn't work out. 👍

For the purpose of the ButtKicker Challenge we don't even need the steward summary to be completed. We just need the decision on that one reported incident a finalist was involved in. From there, you can update the sheet at your convenience while I can simultaneously determine how many picks each finalists will get. If we're able to announce the finalists tonight, they'd have more than three days to make their picks (which is more than enough time to give them IMO).

How many finalists are there supposed to be and how are the finalists selected? I don't see it in the buttkicker post...

Have you created your profile under the community tab in the game? If you have done that and sent the PSN message then you should get an invite tonight. If there are still problems, Dragonwhisky will let you know about it.
i have done that i have ? when the game first came out you could use your name i put G .GOTDIRT410
i don't know not totally sure this works

Here are a few pictures for @GamingPete to consider for the Aston Martin at Daytona RC. We have strictly baby colors in these pictures; baby blue and girly pink. No offense to @Die_Birdy_Die :)

Click here for the finalists of the previous ButtKicker Challenge. In a nutshell, we take the drivers with the most ButtKicker points and then declare them as the finalists. Then we assign them each a number of picks based on how many ButtKicker points they have. For example, a driver with perfect attendance and no penalties will get the max number of picks, while a driver that barely qualified as a finalist will have few picks.

The number of finalists is based on a number of things, like how many drivers participated in the season and if there's a separation point near the cutoff. For example, we have historically picked in the neighborhood of 20 finalists. But it there's a 5-way tie between 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, and 22nd place in ButtKicker points, we'd try to either make them all finalists or none of them finalists. It just depends how the numbers play out.

I THINK daytona should be a night race that be different. JUST SAYING

Not sure who brought up night races before, but Sunday races are NOT run at night unless the track was created for night races with appropriate lighting (SSR5). It won't happen.

I did. And it's some silly reason that the rooms can't get the time to be the same for each room, so the racing might look slightly different from room to room. If we set it to a time after the sun is fully down it would be fine. Getting everyone to start on time for a sunset race would be impossible. Whatevs. Not a big deal, I get my night racing from the Wednesday Race Car Series. If a season has a track with time change, Race 1 is day and Race 2 is night.

@JLBowler are you able to update the challenge sheet pre-steward summary? If so, I can start working on the finalists because it looks like the one incident involving a finalist has four reviews on it (and they are all in agreement). Sorry for the urgency, but I have to leave town soon for the holidays and will be offline for a while once I hit the road.

@JLBowler

J, could you confirm if I did the right thing with the message thingie?

@Dragonwhisky

Does the fact that my psn id is still on the list of your last post mean that the message I sent last night to snail psn account wasn't what you need?

You guys don't seem to have a problem when it comes to biblic posts or to call someones attention to any out of the line comment but when it comes to be really useful to the community you definitely like to let people hanging.
If I ask these questions is because I'm interested, I want to do it right and I'm having trouble and I think a simple "I'll let you know as soon as possible" would be nice. After all, you two love to post stuff.

We go through this every week. Regardless of the decision of the prize winners, each and every one of us GROWN ADULTS have a choice as well, race it or don't.
Yep, every week someone picks a combo someone else doesn't like, and every week we have to listen to them cry and moan because the choice they think should have been picked wasn't. Gets pretty old on this side of the fence. Idk, guys, how is it beating dead horses?

That's just ****ing rude and sounds like a personal issue.
I mean, maybe it's me, but when on the verbal assault, I think it best to not be exactly what you are attacking, such as calling someone rude expletively. Especially when you are doing it off of someone elses assumption. Why did he pick Autumn ring? Idk, I didn't ask, neither did Coach. Some people actually like that track, such as myself. I personally can't wait to get on it.

Okay SNAILs, it's that time again! One of you is about to win a Wireless ButtKicker Kit!

Based on the rules of the contest, here are the finalists for the ButtKicker 4D Sports Challenge as well as how many picks they've earned:

Each finalist will entered into a raffle in which one of one hundred numbers will be "randomly" picked. The number range will be 00 to 99. The number listed next to each finalist's name represents the number of "picks" that he gets. As you have probably noticed, the more ButtKicker points each finalist earned, the more picks they get and the better chance they have to win. The drivers listed with the maximum 7 picks raced every Sunday night for the past two months without collecting a single penalty! :bowdown:

Instead of using Formula 1 races to determine the winning number as we've done in the past, we'll be using the @GumballCGT's fastest lap in his professional racing debut at the Dubai 24 Hour on Saturday. The last two digits of his fastest lap will be the winning number and the finalist who picked the winning number will be the winner of the Wireless ButtKicker Kit! For example, if the if the fastest lap during the race is 1:59.472 , then the finalist who picked "72" would be the winner

All of the finalists will be receiving a PM from shortly that will provide detailed instructions as well as brief terms and conditions for participating in the contest. You will be required to post your picks on the thread, but please do not do anything until you read my PM.

Good luck to all of you!! :gtpflag:
I'm a bit confused, how do you not make it as a finalist if you never missed a single race?
EDIT: DOH, just reread post and saw that was previous contest, sorry!!

I can update it pre summary but it won't be correct. If you know it's only one driver, I could update it and you could make that change manually. Once it's updated, there isn't a way to update it again after the steward summary short of deleting all the imported sheets and running the update again. That is a huge pain as it's what I had to do when the sheet went haywire and it took me a weekend and a day to figure it out.

I don't know how to access the PSN account to see the incoming messages. I'm sure dragonwhisky will take a look when he gets home from work. I'm pretty sure he doesn't have a PS3 at his desk at work to check it out.

Ya, I edited my post, realized almost right away:banghead:

This contest is for the Gamer2 model. It's the one that clamps to an office chair post or in my case a section of pipe that is bolted to the support structure of my racing rig under the seat. The thing works great. The only way I could be happier is if I would have won mine instead of buying it.

That's the thing.. It doesn't appear that the finalist in question will be affected by the steward summary. So just need the race count portion updated to determine the finalists. Hitting the road soon though, so it may be a "moo" point. :lol:

If you don't mind the points not being 100% accurate for the non-finalists, I can run the script right now and you can do what you need to do. Just give me the go ahead.

Let's do it. I might not be able to announce the finalists right away, but I can start sorting the numbers during my car ride.

Did someone say dead horses? Reminds me of one of my favorite SNAIL posts of all time. I had to go re-read this gem by @diabolicwyvern and I still made me laugh out loud, literally! :lol:

The scripts have run and the sheets are updated. I will try and find time to delete and re run them after the steward report is finalized.
