I know huh. I did put UPS tracking on my favorites that week. lol. Regardless GopherMods did a good job & theier contactability(if thats even a word)was A+. they also sent a really good troubleshooting guide back w/ the console.:)

Hmm, its been exactly 24 hours since the confirmation that they received it. No confirmation that they've sent it back out again... strange.

Nice explanation AP, when I have some time I'm going to try to test the theories out.

Thanks!

I subscribe to the same theory - I use 4 in front and 3 in back; sometimes 4/4 with rear engine cars :)

I use abs 1 because of lockups withit it. For brake balance try reducing the rear balance till you stop spinning :)

I usually use 7/6 or 7/5. Not sure what others use.

So we are allowed to tune the brake balance? I thought 'no tuning' meant no tuning of anything (stock, or default).

Please confirm in SNAIL specs, thanks 👍

Yeah. You can change brake balance. It's impossible to regulate, anyway, and can only help you be more in control.

I still feel like adjusting brake bias is a form of tuning. As I mentioned a while back, I wish PD would take the Tuning-Prohibited literally and not allow brake bias to be adjusted when that setting is on. Sure, different drivers prefer different brake bias settings, that's also the case with camber, toe, and ride height settings. Why is brake bias any different?

But until that changes, brake bias can't be regulated so we have to allow it. I for one have never adjusted my brake bias, but I guess I probably should if it would improve my lap times. Then again, having to spend time experimenting with different settings is exactly what I wanted to avoid by starting a "spec" league. :yuck:

If adjusting brake bias is tuning, wouldn't the flashing gear indicator on the HUD be a driving aid?

Yes, I agree! It should be something that can be prohibited under the regulation settings menu where all of the other driving aids are.

Anyone up for a track day at Motegi Road Course?

Room #1472-6681-3759-3054-9641 or Track Day, No X1/FGT

I'll probably be running it for a few hours or so.

The thing about the brake balance is that the default 5/5 makes absolutely no sense. Have any of you who have done any brake work ever bought 4 pairs of the same pads for one car? Everything that I've worked on has stronger (larger) front brakes than rear.

I agree 100% and it's the main reason people have such difficulty with abs off.

I'm going to join the D1 lounge and run this week's combos. Feel free to join and get some practice in.

Long gone.

Cheeb, the replays are up! Sorry it took so long, I got it all put on the comp last night, just to find out the internet in our area was out.

FYI,

If someone no-shows tomorrow from the Virginia/Maryland area, it may be a power outtage.

We had one of those surprisingly brief, crazy strong storms come through last night. Some 70-92 mph gusts. About 800,000 lost power in Virginia. There were over 450,000 outtages just in Northern Virginia, and Maryland is showing over 400,000 still without power.

I was worried about 1) No A/C during this warm spell, and 2) not making it Sunday. The power just came on, so I'll be cool and hopefully it'll be game on as well.:)

are you actually spinning under braking? If you crank abs all the way up, you can do anything you want with the wheel while braking. It won't work as well, but it will give you stability while decelerating.

Or, are you over rotating through braking and steering simultaneously, and then getting on the gas too hard
and it sends it the other way?

it's also a MR so you need to find the grip through throttle on the way out. If you coast while off throttle, the natural weight will push the back end out

Wife is catching up on her TV show that was interrupted last night.

I've tried to do only straight line braking. I can really tell when I start turning while braking too soon - it is painfully obvious.

I think I'm getting on the gas too hard once I start to hit it, and I am probably trying to turn the wheel too far as I do this. The back end pretty much flips around and I do a quick 90 - 135 degree turn in the direction that I'd intended to turn about 45 degrees.

Finding some balance of a partial throttle and almost coasting is helping me on Cape Ring turn 2.

The first turn and the hairpins on Cape Ring are clearly areas I'm getting crushed, and the small S-curve before the first hairpin (I think it's turn number... 6?) causes me spins.

Similarly, the sharp downhill turns on Trial Mountain, and the sharp turn after the first tunnel - I'm not running those correctly. I'm going to try to sneak on the PS3 once wife is sated and run those a bit.

Did that give you the info you were asking about imtomtom? Any suggestions?

Just a reminder everyone:

oh ok then I'd like to have #97 I usually don't have a specific color but I do like to use legit colors for each model of car.

I meant to post this earlier (thought I did?), but I use number 42, and black body with red wheels.

On the color, tire, number document, may I please go with #44?

Okay, all of you have been added to the Color/Number Google Doc. We haven't updated it in a long time because we have plans to overhaul/upgrade the entire list. More to come on that later, but right now there's more pressing news that needs to be announced. ;)

I would like to join your Sunday night club.

Hey Millerhd,

Glad you want to join the club 👍 Consider yourself signed up!

We run a clean league by enforcing the S.N.A.I.L. OLR and we expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both.

I'll add you to the drivers list. If you have time this morning, please run the Time Trial Combination in this post and pm your time to me before tonight's races. If you're unable to do that, I'll start you in Division 3.

If you can't race on a Sunday, please be sure to give us at least 24 hours notice by posting in this forum, it makes things much simpler for us, thanks.

PSN friend requests will be sent to you from SNAIL_Division1, SNAIL_Division2 and SNAIL_Division3. Their lounges are where we race Sunday night and hold our various events. Here's a breakdown of the ways we use the lounges.

During the week we run a number of different events feel free to jump in and partake!

The original post also has a lot of information regarding the league, commit it to memory ;)

Welcome aboard and enjoy :)

Hey S.N.A.I.L.s,

I'll have the updated Drivers List posted in an hour or so. Sorry for the delay, there was a lot of work to be done to get the list together for this weeks races.
