Maybe it's a stupid question and I had never visited Canada but... How come the water pipes in your houses don't freeze?
the further north you go the deeper you have to bury the water lines, around kc it is around 3 feet deep

Houses are insulated and sealed with a central heating system. (No natural ventilation gaps/holes above windows or doors or in the roof). Windows have two panes of glass with an air gap in between. So, you can set the temperature inside the house where you want it. We have at 20-22 Deg C during the day and cool it down to 17-19 Deg at night. Water lines to the house are burried deep. Below the frost line here is approx 13 feet (4 meters).

I've been kicking around combo ideas in my head and tested a few yesterday. Tonight I'll open a room in the snail club lobby and do some more testing before making my final decision. Feel free to drop in and help test and add your .02 to the final decision.
Any particular cars we should have/purchase for testing?

Exactly, I remember one year Vancouver almost had a catastrophic issue occur with regards to water mains. In van it's more temperate they rarely see freezing temperatures and if they do it's never too long. On this year however they had a cold snap that was very low for van and out west they don't put the water mains as low as they do in Calgary. I think only about 6-8feet maybe less in some areas. Long story short if the cold snap lasted another two days or so water mains through the entire city would have started to freeze. Resulting in a serious problem. Fortunately we Canadians have ready made igloos that we can retreat to should this ever occur. :odd:

Wow, 4 meters is real deep. Must suck when they have to dig them up to service. I believe ours in my area of NY are abuot 2 meters (6 feet) deep.

USA theme

High PP options:
'10 Camaro SS RM
Corvette Z06 C6 RM
Viper ACR

Low PP options:
'07 Mustang GT Premium
'13 Focus ST

Tracks:
Daytona Road for the race cars
Big Willow and Laguna Seca for all cars.

The combo that is best for close racing and creates the best possibility for passing is what I'll be looking for most.

I would like to join the S.N.A.I.L. Community please. I feel I am going to have the time available this year to engage in some racing.

@Jonesman59

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!
Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join SNAIL Racing League:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add @CoachMK21, @JLBowler, @nmcp1 & @zer05ive as participants. The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing club. Sunday races are organized exclusively through the GT6 Community features within the game.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread. If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL

That's amazing! It never crossed my mind, that kind of everyday life "issue" until I saw your post. Lol.

Over here we are at 12ºc on average with no wind, it's not that cold but people are freaking out, gloves, scarfs, winter coats and everything. Including me.

Thanks!

Just got booted for the 10th time this afternoon and it says I have to do a system update. Anyone else experiencing the same?
Yeah, system update for PS3 out now.Although unlike most people I haven't had any disconnection issues that are out of the ordinary.. In fact my connections have bean way more solid in the past week or so.

Steward Update

@Ricky_Blayz you are cleared as the prize C winner. The freeze has already been passed to you by @Alex ONeill . Please declare which part of the combo you will be freezing and tag him in that post. Your options are the Yellow Bird or Mid-Field.

Thank you to the stewards who jumped on the IRs and got it taken care of quickly. The summary will be out later this week.
