The SNAIL Sunday Scoring sheets have been prepared and is ready to go for tonight.

Pub and I have our racing setups in a nonairconditioned part of our houses and it's pretty danged hot in kc these days. I moved my ps3 to the bedroom, no room for wheel or pedals, so no racing for me till it cools down some.
but in just over a month from now, on aug 21st, the total eclipse of the sun is coming across America, hoping that those of you that are positioned to see it get to with clear skies. i'll be about 12 miles north of Sabetha Kansas waiting to see the stars come out in the middle of the day. a great video to watch is "Fly over the great American eclipse" on youtube

happy viewing and protect your eyes

I have central air as well and we keep the house at 74 usually. Upstairs where I am is always a bit hotter so to keep the downstairs people happy and not too cold I have to keep it at 74 even when I get too hot. So I bought an 18" stand fan and blow it right on me when racing. It's usually more than enough and then I keep it focused on the entertainment center to keep the air moving in that area.

having a fan blowing on you when the heat index is around 105 to 110deg is adding insult to injury. my ps3 has been running a little hot when it's rendering the online racing, fan is on full blast. and having a 107yr old house does not lend itself to central ac installation easily. I don't have a regular fan but a squirrel cage blower w/ much greater volume and it's still too hot.

I wouldn't be able to race under those conditions. I'd just sit there and sip ice tea all night. Anything over 85 is ridiculous. Then again I have no problem with being outside for hours when it's -10c. Heck, I used to run outside in -18c. Just below 0 F.

That's why I rarely race, or play any games, during the summer months. My rig is in my man-cave / garage and I have an A/C unit that works well but it gets a little pricey to fire that thing up all the time. 105 and up is not out of the ordinary for my location so I usually spend my late afternoon / early evening doing as little as possible.

The Always Up-To-Date Gran Turismo Sport Car List

Posted: 17 Jul 2017 08:58 AM PDT

Gran Turismo Sport has a new release date. Launching in the middle of October, the game will mark the first appearance of Polyphony Digital’s long-running franchise on the PlayStation 4.

Since the announcement, Polyphony has slowly trickled out new cars. What started as a handful of GT3-spec racers and an MX-5 has ballooned into over 100 models. While there’s been some confusion over the final tally — 137, 140, 177 — the latest figure from Sony pegs the count at over 150.

With the release three months away, we’ve compiled a list of all the known vehicles so far, with the help of the GTPlanet community. By our count, there are 128 vehicles in GT Sport right now, meaning around two dozen are left.

Keep an eye on this list, as we expect to fill in the blanks before October. When and if Polyphony Digital announces DLC plans, we’ll include those too. With Yamauchi stating the final tally could hit 500 cars, the final list may look very, very different to what we have now.

As ever, if you think you’ve spotted a new inclusion, head on over to the Master Car List on the forums and let us know.

As an electrician, I learned early in my apprenticeship that HEAT is the number one enemy of all electronics. I have small, high flow fans on both my console and wheel base whenever I race. I'm amazed at the heat generated if I forget to turn one on. And as for air conditioning, I'm such a grump in the heat I put window units in my garage. :ill:

We have no A/C, and if the tradewinds aren't blowing it can be a bit sticky all over. I have one big floor fan that I point straight at me and then usually the ceiling fan is running. I race shirtless and shoeless (which is my ususal dress code at home) and by the end of a racing session my chair pads (used pillows ) and shorts are pretty soaked and often I'm wet. From what I understand it's pretty sexy. In the 'winter' it's only a bit better as it's maybe 5' cooler outside. Still, I would much ratyher be hot than cold personally.
The fan is why my mic often sounds hissy...

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - Ferrari 512 BB '76 (Sports: Medium) at Twin Ring Motegi West Course (17 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @Oshawa-Joe wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - West Surrey Racing, 1983 Ayrton Senna (Racing: Hard) at Trial Mountain Circuit / Forward (8 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @Nicktune gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @JamCar0ne so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated, so picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more important is that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, any car you select should not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting. Also, please be sure to list the PP and HP (after oil change) of any car you select.
