Work is finally starting to slow down so I may make a reappearance soon. Should I make a formal request to rejoin a week or two before I plan to race?

Welcome back. I found this note on the active drivers list page that should help. I don't see you on the active drivers list so follow these instructions:

If you are an inactive member of SNAIL (if you're not on this list and have raced with us previously, you are inactive) and wish to return to active status, you will need to read the first post in the main thread and follow the procedure to join. This process will need to be completed by 23:59 ET on Saturday night if you wish to race on that Sunday.

From about 9:00pm start watching this thread. The host will post the room number. Alternatively you can search by track for the first combo (Suzuka) and look for the Snail room with your division

Make sure to read the qually procedures again

Is it me, or are the license tests super easy in this game? As opposed to previous GTs I mean.

You can probably gold all of them in a matter of hours. Track Experience may take a bit longer just by the nature of the beast. You have to do each section of each track individually and then the track as a whole.

Licence tests.

I started Gran Turismo with GT5 and found it extremely difficult to get Gold - maybe because I was a "rookie"

GT6 felt MUCH easier.

Went back to GT5 and did a few of the ones I found most difficult and manage to get Gold in a few tries. However, I still think GT5 is more difficult, but the rookie factor played a definite role on the first time round.

GT Sport feels easier than GT6, except for the areas where you have to go from a standing start.

Besides what @Rednose58 said above...

Try to join a D3 party chat if you can tonight as well. That will make it easier to ask questions/get info. I saw that you added a bunch of SNAILs as friends, so it should be easy to find the D3 room, as well as the correct party chat (check the driver list to know who is in your division). Usually @Die_Birdy_Die will host a party chat it he is participating that night.

With one of the patches after release they changed the tests to allow you to have all 4 off track. Initially they were slightly harder but were made easier.

Yeah, I noticed my times took if I was off. I just do it again clean and faster. Still clearing mos Bid these in 3 attempts or less. I'm kinda bummed it's not more difficult

I think you can adjust the hp on the car to make it more challenging if that’s what you are looking for but it will obviously decrease your winnings.

I recall that an early update made these “challenges” more “driver friendly” for all the new players they were hoping to retain.

Some of us mere mortals still struggle with getting all gold.

I think it was the 1.09 update that made the campaign mode too easy. What.. there is a car in your way?? Just ram into him and punt him out of your way!! Yep, the game teaching one to 'look bad' is considered an update.
