I know most everyone knows this. Just a reminder here, when gaming online a wired connection is best if at all possible. A wifi connection will show decent speeds and with games where inches don't matter it's just fine. With a games like FPS, racing, and others that require split second reactions, where everyone sees your car matters significantly. If it is not possible at all to be hard-wired it's understandable, but if that is an option available to you please for the sake of your enjoyment and everyone around you on the track please hard wire your ps4's.
Didn’t help me any.

Man that sucks I missed the first Sunday I had to tow my friend who flooded his Subaru on the edge of town and didn't think about it till I got in I was gonna miss this usually my Sundays are empty towards the evening

Hopefully races went well

Big update always equals big problems before or after the update unfortunately. When there is no update in sight the races flow smoothly. No disconnecting or anything similar. A week after the big update things should be back to normal.

Skills and I couldn't see each other.

It is weird that the one thing that has plagued Gran Turismo since going online with GT5 is drivers not seeing one another online even if all have high speed internet. With other games like GTA or Project Cars that does not happen but with Gran Turismo always been the issue of one driver or so not seeing the other. I would think that no one would have a problem seeing one another since it doesn't happen with other games online.

When I first entered the room I could see him, then he left and came back and I couldn't see him. I left and cleared cache and rejoined and I could see him, then he left and rejoined and I couldn't see him. Was never able to see him in the room after that, I could see him join and leave but not actually see him in the room.

What happened? Same issues as last week? @basswerks1 for awhile had a problem with people seeing him. Not sure what he did but the issues seem to be gone. Maybe he can shed some light on this

I think you and I had this issue at one point Sam, where we couldn't see each other. I can't remember if it was a practice session or one of the invitationals?? Anyway it sounds like GTS was plagued with issues, and not just isolated to Snail. When I was asked to leave the Snail lobby I entered a few other rooms and found the majority of them were experiencing issues of some kind. Interestingly one room I was in had three different people not seeing each other, and the host suggested he would leave the room and re enter, so the room had a new host. This seemed to fix the problem in that room. I'm not sure this would have fixed our issue in D2 last night, but we may want to look at trying that in the future, before asking players to leave?

Season 2 for the SNAIL Endurance Series starts tomorrow night. We've made a number of changes (check out the first post here for more details), most notably - we now have two divisions, and each division will be driving a different car.

For tomorrow night's race, we'll be heading to Kyoto Driving Park: Yamagiwa + Miyabi II. Division 1 will be driving the NISSAN MOTUL AUTECH GT-R 2016 (GT500), and Division 2 will be driving the VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE GR.3.

I paid my internet provider for a static IP address. This changed my nat type to 2 (open). My understanding is that the different nat types don’t always work together. Having a open one seems to help me.

and I hired a few more dolphins lol
there is truth to the nat type thing. I had that problem before. I called my internet company which claimed it wasnt them. I shut of my router and unplugged it. Plugged it back up everything worked. It might have worked right after i called my internet company but i just unplugged it out of frustration without checking if it worked after i called them.

Yeah you guys should experiment with different hosts. Its worth a shot. Luckily for us in D1 we haven't had too many issues with people not seeing eachother/stuck on grid.

@BradESPN, this series is open to any current Snail driver?

Now I am not an IT expert, so I am not saying that these are the answers, but here is the info from GT Sport.

I would think trying a new host before going into all this jazz may be a better "first try".

So here is what the GT Sport Online Manual has to say:

Under Lobby > To Enjoy Smooth Racing Online

Gran Turismo® Sport will determine your bandwidth and NAT type based on your network environment. Your bandwidth and NAT type can be viewed when creating a room in Lobby mode, by selecting "Room Settings."

Bandwidth is an estimate of how much data can be transmitted in a set period of time. With higher bandwidth, there is less delay, and cars handle more realistically. NAT type is a way of classifying the IP address conversion functions of broadband routers etc. Some NAT types are unsuited to online racing.

I have a Nat type 2 open as well and high speed internet speed with Charter Communications. Me and you never have a problem seeing each other on track.
