Fellow SNAIL'ers - Please remember that Thursday nights are open SNAIL practices where new prospects can get a idea of what it is like to race in the best online racing league on the planet (just a little bais there...)

New prospects are bound to make mistakes , especially if they are not used to racing in packs, or without TC. When incidents happen , which inevitably they will , try to practice a little restraint. Bad-mouthing a prospects performance or race craft without knowing in fact their actions were intentional puts SNAIL in a bad light.

If you do see a new prospect abusing drivers simply PSN the host of the room and have them monitor the behavior. The host will then make the determination whether to kick or give a warning. We don't need to start picking fights and calling someone out especially if their actions were unintentional.

Remember we all were new at one point, and everyone's learning curve is different. Don't spoil the opportunity for SNAIL to continue to expand just because you have no patience for the errors of a new prospect.

Plus it’s just a practice race with nothing on the line so there really shouldn’t be a reason to get too upset.

Is that a new Formula 1 car?
Quite possibly, but like the F1500-T it might be a generic version of a modern F1 car because we can do liveries. Also, I know CodeMasters has the license for F1 so I don't know how that plays into things. It certainly looks like the newer regulations though, maybe a modern upgrade to the FGT?

I paid my internet provider for a static IP address. This changed my nat type to 2 (open). My understanding is that the different nat types don’t always work together. Having a open one seems to help me.

and I hired a few more dolphins lol
I need help. Now I can’t see @basswerks1.
I’m hardwired from the gateway to my PS4. I’ve assigned a static IP to my PS4 and added it to my router’s DMZ. I have 200 mb down and 11 mb up.
What do I need to do to fix this and finally start racing again?

Check and see what your NAT Type is by running the Internet Connection Test on the PS4.

The PS4 needs 10 up to operate properly. Throw in a few other people in the same room that are boarderline and things can get messy

You couldn't be more wrong. The PS4 and PS3 before it have games that require bandwidth. A solid, and I mean solid (never dropping below for any reason) 2mb down and 1mb up is enough to run the games. The problem is that most people that run a speedtest and see 1.2mb think they have that all the time when they really don't.

Most of the time, speed isn't even the issue. The issue is packet loss or just plain one guy's connection not talking to another guy's connection due to all the connections that it has to make along the path.

I've been here for a long time and I've noticed over the years that it always seems to be the same individuals that are involved in connection issues. If you are someone that has experienced issues over the years or been someone who has been cited by numerous people as not being able to be seen on track, I would suggest that you start looking into your own connection. If you've ever run in a fixed host room in SNAIL and you were the guy who was dropped from the room, the issue is on your end and you should look at trying to fix it. I know from experience who these individuals are as their name keeps coming up when the discussion switches to connection issues. If i know who you are, you should know who you are as well.

Thanks DW but that’s not possible. It’s a combination wireless router and modem from Comcast.
In that case I would suggest you call Comcast, get them to replace that with a modem only and buy yourself a router. Hook your ps4 to the modem, get a NAT1 connection and see if that fixes the problem. If it does put the router back in the circuit and see if the issue returns.
