The problem is that not everyone understands some of the rules for qualifying such as give the guy in front some apace on the out lap, don't slow down and tuck in behind a faster car, and don't pass a guy on the out lap that is driving slow trying to establish a gap to the guy in front of him.

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo @Cape Ring North
Therefore it has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since VELOCI_2NR wins Prize A, he gets to decide which car and track will replace it.

The round that received the second most votes was:
Round 1 - Lotus Elise RM '96 @Eiger Nordwand Short Track
Therefore, either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since dangerzone641 gets Prize B, he gets to decide which is replaced and what replaces it.

Price C goes to lifesagamble420 so he gets any gift car ticket listed here.

I know some people were complaining about drafting during qualifying but what are you supposed to do if you are on a fast lap and catch a slower car. Do you expect someone to back off and ruin their lap? We all will have opportunities to benefit and lose out because of the draft. That is racing.

It's not an even chance though joby and it's not racing, it's qualifying. We're talking about people purposely using the draft for their own or mutual benefit. I don't expect people to back off, they can do what I did, move to the other side of the track to minimize the draft.

Screwing up someone's lap because you are not using your mirrors is annoying and I hope we can do better in the future. I did not think to make a note of names as I did not think there was any option to complain.

Being aware of what's happening around you in racing is an absolute must.

Yes qualifying was a disaster today. People kept getting in my way and wouldn't give me space.. would stop to let me by and then follow or pass me on the out lap. In Fuji I can do easy mid 36s pushing but couldn't get below 37 with the nonsense going on.

You still got the pole, so idk what you're complaining about

Joe, Green and I have been chatting via PM about this whole situation due to my complaint.

I don't think anyone intentionally cheated. I would just like this kind of thing not to happen in the future. That track is plenty big to give 11 of us space to qualify without encroaching within 500yds of the next guy. In the future I guess the best thing to do is someone say "hey, this guy has been on my butt for 4 laps and won't leave me alone...can we restart the qualifying session or extend the session so I can get a clean lap?"

If pulling over is not an option....because the qualifying session is short enough that losing a good lap can mean the difference between pole and last place start...then the above option would be a good one.

1) Pull over or let them past if they are much faster
2) If that fails ask them to back off
3) If that fails tell the director that this guy won't give you clean space to qualify, ask for more time or a re-qualify and file a complaint.

None of that was done but I think if it comes up in the future then this would be a good set of guidelines to follow.

I agree with JoeW that we need the option to ask for a reset. In addition to that:

Do not pass a car during the out lap as they are probably going slower to build a gap to the ahead car. All cars need to build a gap.

I have also asked to forfeit my points for the race in good will towards JoeW as he is a friend and I would like to keep it that way. Sorry Joe.

I honestly can't see a reset happening. We already run for a minimum of 2 hours, adding time to that, especially for people in the Eastern Time Zone, would be a stretch.

And all because someone doesn't or won't follow the rules or common sense ...

I would hope that a reset would not happen very often if everyone follows the Q guidelines, but it may not be a bad idea to keep it as an option.

Stop that forfeit nonsense. I can't see you grinning ear to ear while driving behind Green saying to yourself "I am SOOO going to get pole with this strategy".

Poop happens...it looked like a race was going on in front of me and noone wanted to give up the position.

I will say that, unintentionally but effectively....Crash, Racefan and myself managed to really pull away from the group at Fuji on race 2 by running together. By the end we were a significant distance ahead of the pack. We were racing nose to tail for 7 laps and it made a difference.

In a race and that's totally fine and part of the deal.

Qualifying is where YOU are setting YOUR best time in relation to the rest of the field to determine the starting grid.

It's not YOU AND SOMEONE ELSE using the game for your mutual benefit.

Maybe we should just do away with qualifying altogether? Just use the random grid for the first race. That would save us a half hour every night.

That's what I meant...drafting is so effective with race cars that unintentionally you could gain some serious time in qualifying by driving with someone.

Since when is there drafting in qualifying? Up to build 2.07, there was none. Drafting only takes place after the race has started. I've had a couple of talks with the WRS folks about this and they confirmed it to me (we were testing at Fuji in GT500 cars to prove it).

Edit: Joe just let me know that 2.08 is the culprit... I hadn't noticed myself!

Yeah, I know what you're saying.

I'm just getting frustrated by this. If someone is drafting in qualifying, to my mind, it's not unintentional. It's being done for a reason, to get an edge.

Seems like there are two options.

1. Pull over
2. Deal with it and register a complaint

If you are being drafted down the fuji straight you are also benefiting from the draft. Someone was on my @ss early in a lap during qualifying so I pulled over and let them pass. Found clean air and set a fast lap next time around. It was not that hard. I wish it had not been like that but it is a reality in qualifying with multiple cars on the track just look at F1.

Having said that we can do better and should expect it.

For simplicity, I'd go with:

10 min qualifying to set grid for race #1.

Race #1 - grid is slowest to fastest.
Races 2-6 - reverse grid based on last race results.
