I'm far from a prude, but I don't think comments like this are appropriate for our thread.

Please limit posts along these lines to pm's please.

I'm sure it was a joke, relax. It's not like any 'act' was expressed, it was left to the imagination. Besides, it was in response to something I wrote and that was part of a topic here. Yes, it got a little off topic but it was done until you brought it back.

...and I'm the one rude and vile one here. *rolling my eyes* LOL

doughboy won't be able to get online tonight so I'll be hosting the Wednesday practice races in his place. The format will mirror league night, so each round of races will be preceded by 10 minutes of qualifying. Therefore, the session will last about two hours just like on Sunday night. There will not be a "second hour" of another type of racing tonight. Also, please note that doughboy's reference to the D2 lounge is incorrect. Per our divisional lounge system, all tutoring, practice sessions, and practice races are to be held in the D1 lounge.

The Division 1 lounge is open to everyone in the group, yes & I do use the lounge from time to time. However, I can host a tutoring session where I like. I did post where I was hosting tonight tutoring session. I mean no disrespect, but it does sound as if you are upset with me for hosting a tutoring session outside the Div 1 lounge. Is this correct?

You're right I should have included your post in my response, sorry about that.

It wasn't that the posts went off topic that was the issue, this thread get's plenty of off topic. It was the topic you went off on.

That topic is breaking the fifth point of the AUP I referred to earlier. I can assure you the mod's here do not take the AUP lightly. You don't know who will take offense to a post that includes the topic, best it's not be brought up, used as a joke or whatever.

Check this thread if you want some examples and perhaps even a laugh or two.

I was relaxed and am relaxed.

I'll join up after a bit if it's not full. Be aware, however, that I have been partaking of adult beverages and as such, am not responsible for finishing dead last.

IF YOU ARE IN D3 and you want the TCS or driving line option enabled, you have to ask for it. So feel free to PM me before Sunday, so you don't have to ask in public.

No, that's not correct. I simply copy and pasted the the last sentence of my reply to doughboy's post. Sorry if it seemed like I was upset, it was just easier for me to copy and paste than type out the same message, but with different wording.

Of course you can host tutoring sessions wherever you like with whomever you like. I would never imply otherwise. However, if you host it in your lounge, it seems to me like it should be more of a private session arranged through PM's and not advertised on the league-wide thread. When you advertise a session in your own personal lounge, you are requiring that anyone who wants to participate add you as a friend on their friends list. If you read through the history of this thread, you will see lots of discussion and debate on how to minimize lag and minimize the requirements to enjoy this league. Keeping the number of PSN ID's that members have to add to a minimum is one of the things that solves both of those problems. That's why we created the divisional lounge system. It allows everyone in the league to enjoy all league-related activities with just three PSN ID's.

Imagine if everyone who hosted events for our league held them in their own lounge. Members would have to add doughboy for Wednesday practices, then add me for Thursday team battles, then add Diabolic for Friday night, then add Bowler for Saturday endurance races, not to mention the three divisional accounts to participate in the Sunday races, along with adding you and/or Mopar for tutoring. Then there's the Tuesday night events that Apmaddock is planning. That's potentially ten PSN accounts that members would have to add.. Not what we had in mind..

Again, I'm not saying you can't tutor wherever you want with whomever you want, but it you post it on this thread, members will feel that they have to add you in order to participate, and as I described above, that goes against all of the efforts we've made to minimize that kind of thing. Let me know if you disagree or have any concerns about that.

Im not sure 100% here Zero, but can non-snails join the Division rooms? We had some non-snail friends who wanted driving lessons in general (any car, any track) which we were doing the combo's with.

Most of the time we are in the Div1 room anyways, just happened to tonight have friends who wanted help too. Didnt mean to ruffle any feathers :)
.......Unless i missed something :embarrassed:

I've just finished the first update to my original post. I saw a movie tonight so I didnt get as far as I wanted.

Edit: I've gone as far as to make it look something close to the schedule of events already posted in the second post.

The new Online Dealership is Bavarian. I guess they could be included in consideration for next week's new car(s)?

Im pretty sure that part of the stipulations of this league is that all practice is to be open to everyone, and any official practice events are to be held in lounges accessible to people in snail.
If practices are going to be done with the current track/car combos, then that would indeed be an official snail practice session.
Now of course she is free to do her own practice in her own lounge, but then she should do it in her own thread for her own practice sessions. This is a thread for snails. Unless I missed that part.

I was tutoring friends on racing, and thought I would combine the SNAILs with it, so I posted it here, given that must of my pupils are on my friends list I didn't see an issue. Zero & I have already addressed this tonight, so we're good.

I would have absolutely no problem with non-snails joining any of the divisional accounts. The only way it would be a problem is if they were doing something that didn't match the intent of the lounge. So if they're in the Division 1 lounge for example, everything is fine as long as they're using the cars and tracks from the upcoming Sunday night's line-up. If they are practicing other cars and tracks not in our current line-up, well, that's what the Division 2 lounge is for.

Okey dokey, I have created two oval tracks for possible use in Roller Derby. One's at Tokyo Bay, 0.44 miles in length, full width and no banking since it can't do that. The other is at Eifel, 0.98 miles long, full width and full banking. Tokyo goes anticlockwise like your typical North American oval but Eifel is clockwise to mix things up a bit ;)

I shall make sure to have it in the Div 3 lounge tomorrow if anyone wants to stop by and check it out.

Thanks tez! Can't wait to try those tracks out!

I've updated the Roller Derby description as well. We've made some improvements to the format based on what we learned last week. Let me know if any of you has any questions or needs any clarification about the rules. This should be fun!

IF YOU ARE IN D3 and you want the TCS or driving line option enabled, you have to ask for it. So feel free to PM me before Sunday, so you don't have to ask in public.

I actually think that people should have to ask for it in public so that it is public knowledge. Knowing how hard you should be racing the guy next to you is key during a race. If you're vying for promotion and the guy in front of you is standing in your way, you want to know if he's actually got a chance for promotion or not, i.e. whether or not he's using aids.

Also, what is the thought on the RA menu stuff? Are we leaving things to honesty? (not that I don't trust certain people. ;) )

77 posts since midnight yesterday...

First impression of the two combos I ran was largely favorable. Never would I think to put "corvette" and "finesse" in the same sentence, but a bit of one will certainly help the other. It's a shame I can't race Sundays, could be hugely entertaining from the looks of it. Wed-thurs are the days I'll show up consistently.

It will be public knowledge. Just scan the drivers list once on track. You'll know who's using it or not.

How would you suggest we police the RA menu? I don't think it's possible.

It's not. That's the point.

Edit: Actually, it might be through the replays. Watch the replay that shows the acceleration bars and whatnot. It might show the white/red line indicative of TCS coming on.

The driving line is another issue, but even less likely to actually help the driver be faster than is TCS.

If you ask me, having the option for TCS to be turned on is really for controller users who don't have the benefit of a gas pedal that they can modulate smoothly. Therefore, why not just allow that option for non-wheel users only?

As far as how to police that, all you have to do is watch someone drive and you can tell if they're using a controller or a wheel (twitchy steering vs. smooth steering).

If we made TCS only an option for controller users only, the RA menu is a moot point.

Fun races last night. 👍 The 380RS is so much more planted than the 'vette. Such a pleasure to drive.

You outline the format very well. However, I don't actually see anything regarding the rules. You may want to add some information about what is and what isn't legal, for people who have never participated in this event. (Me, for example.)

what isnt legal? Going backwards on the track. I think that was it.
the only other rules, depending of course on how things play out, is to score your jammer must be 1st when crossing the finish line, and this is the depends part, once a point is made, everyone lines back up at the start/finish line. which I will now be calling the S/F line cause im lazy.

Good eye! Thanks for noticing the refresh in the Online Dealership.

Yes, any car currently in the Online Dealership (under $1M) is available for selection by the Prize A and/or the Price B winners after this Sunday's league night. 👍

Hey guys, I won't be racing for the next few weeks. I already PM'd Zero about it, but I am posting on the thread here so kcheeb can take me off the driver list for now. Take care everyone.
