Huzzah!

My son is a senior this year, great student, finishing off his Eagle Scout, etc. He plans on going into Chemical or Materials Engineering, backup plan of Mechanical Engineering. We have used out state's college plan - Virginia has many great state schools, and my wife and I bought 10 semesters of tuition for graduate or undergraduate school when he was small. Things were cheap back then, it made sense.

He received a small scholarship from George Mason, but Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) just offered a full ride, 4 year scholarship. It had been a 'backup school' but that /dropmic move reopened some possibilities. We are waiting to hear from UVA and Virginia Tech.

Very proud of my boy!

Congratulations to you and the Mrs. That's a job well done.

Free ride? More Porsche's for Mr. Mustache!

I may have done something wrong - he likes that mid-engine heretic Cayman a bit too much, I reckon...

The 26 and 28 year old engineers at the last Autocross were persuasive. Nice, owned not outrageous cars, and one flirted (kindly) with him.

He thinks my cars are more collector than cool, with some 'guilt by Dad' association likely.

So he wants something newer to separate from you in that regard? At 28 myself I see them as classics but not really collector items. That's only if in really good condition and you have the money to maintain it to that level of detail. Most people are in your situation where it's a daily driver that happens to be an awesome piece of automotive history. Maybe suggest a 90s 911 Targa? The early 2000s had the ugly headlights and the late 2000s might be too expensive still.

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - Honda INTEGRA TYPE R (DC5) '04 (Sports: Hard) at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca (6 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @socalnatv wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - Amuse NISMO 380RS Super Leggera (Sports: Soft) at Deep Forest Raceway / Reverse (8 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @Nicktune gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @racingchamp30 so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated, so picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more important is that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, any car you select should not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting. Also, please be sure to list the PP and HP (after oil change) of any car you select.

Scores for January 22 have been pushed to Data and is ready for specialists. Please get the data in before the weekend. It is the end of the month and I have to archive the numbers.

I AM not sure Sam ,I can get into the room but when it comes to loading the menu for the car it takes a long time .Then when we went to the qualifer it would not load it .I could hear the others but all I had was the sceenery and no gauges and then after the qualifer it booted me .So I came back and thought I could set in the lobby and get the scores .Agian the menu at the bottom would not load so had no option to download replay or see scores .Everybody was helpful and trying to relate to me the scores but as soon as champ changed the settings it booted me agian .
I was thinking that the way it was acting it was my hard drive ,and not the the disk reader but really not sure .I had took it all apart on friday and it worked good for about 4 hours on saturday night .But when matic left and it made me room host it booted everyone and shut down agian .
Then sunday I had no luck at all .
THANK YOU SAM
What do you think ?

I experience a similar problem around the holidays were the menu would be super slow and would get kicked from rooms when races would start, etc. Found a thread elsewhere on this site that discussed the issue. Take a look at your disc, does it have a dark ring about an inch in from the edge? Mine did and the ring had been there for over a year too. Turns out, that ring isn't suppose to be there and is a tell tale sign of a failing disc. I was going to endure the 14 hour plus download to get a digital copy, but when I stopped into gamestop to get a PSN card to purchase the digital version, I found they had a used disc copy in stock. Purchased the used disc and it solved all of my problems. You can verify your disc reader is good by playing a bluray movie.

Ha Ha ,jam
This is so Ironic ,Yes there is a ring and I did wonder if that might be the problem .Been running some clean-up programs and had no help to the actual problem . I bet you are right that very well could be it .I got the download of the digital copy and it is installing now about at 25 percent .I wish I would have been a little more patient because I believe you got it .
THANK YOU , I will let you know hope you are right and if it does fix it a little time and 14.99 would still be worth the fix .
Thanks Jamcar your help is greatly appreciated Thank you :bowdown::bowdown::cheers:

My car pick is the KTM X-Bow R'12
Before oil change the specs are 555PP/295HP
After oil change specs go to 563PP/313HP

I did a 3 lap testing and my best time was 1:17.182

Cannot change the body or rim color but can put a number on the car. On RH tires driving on Deep Forest Raceway reverse, the car feels like the back end wants to slip out from under in certain turns which is a challenge but a challenge is always good.

I'll have a practice lobby open around 6pm pst in case anyone wants a head start on the new combo(s) cheers for the quick selections prize winners

With assistance from @msgt-sd, I've been working over the SNAIL Age spreadsheet, converted all names to PSNs, verified against msgt's stat tool their start dates and last division and added a status column and pulled an average from that. If your age is reflected and it's a year off, don't sweat it much. The age cell for everyone will change color as it gets out of synch and when it gets orange or red, it'll get updated. Mine is a year off now. The active drivers reporting has about a 10% error margin since some of those listed as active aren't actually. They appear as active for various other reasons.
