There will be a practice room open tonight at 930PM EST for the upcoming Holiday event. If you are interested in joining, but don't have one of the three cars; this is an opportunity to stop by and we can find something for you to drive with us. Event details in the link below.

In preparation for the holidays, I bring to you my car show from Alberta, CA. The Kananaskis Trail inside of Peter Lougheed Provincial Park to be exact.

Niagara's Weekly "What I Saw" Column
241215 Edition

The grid in D1 was a little smaller this past Sunday with 7 drivers showing up while D2 had a pretty good turnout of 10. My column will be a little shorter today as I've been busy.

Combo #1:
Hard to get a great group shot of this combo as the lighting isn't great. But I saw the really nice curves of track in this pic.

There was a really good finish between @Dragonwhisky and @bublyman who fought for 4th place in C1R1. The dude up in the box that is supposed to be waving the checkered flag doesn't seem excited but his silhouette against the lighting of the sky was cool.

I saw @hurbinator go slightly wide into the grass, he desperately tried to catch his car but it slid across the track. Unfortunately @Dragonwhisky caught some shrapnel and ended up into the barrier pretty hard.

Most of you know by now that hitting pit-walls, accidental pit-entries or even flirting with pit-entries will likely get you some air-time in my column. (@DublDee - you know this better than most). Coming out of the long circular right hander, @hurbinator lost control and was sliding across the track towards the pit-entry. Replay shows that he seemed to accept his fate and stopped fighting it and made a clean entry into pit-lane.

Combo #2:
Even though my results on this combo were terrible, it was my favorite Combo of the night. I don't love the track but the car is fun to drive and I was happy to see @bublyman use his prize to freeze it. I saw @Nicktune abuse his tires right behind me early in Lap 1 of C2R1.

I like this one. A nose-to-tail battle between @A_Higher_Place , @Worst_Driver , @bublyman and @Nicktune .

Combo /3:
I have a love/hate relationship with this Radical. Sometimes I find myself rather enjoying it mid-race. But I echo @Worst_Driver 's comment earlier today that I think I'm ready to move on from it.

If I recall correctly, we were down to a field of 6 cars for this combo. I spent C3R1 mostly having fun with @Dragonwhisky and @hurbinator . @hurbinator got sliding again a little bit and came across and gave me a push but I somehow survived....

....But as I glanced in my rearview mirror, I saw @Dragonwhisky wasn't so lucky. I thought this pic a little funny with both cars facing opposite directions.

As always, a fun night of racing. And just as @radliffracing @Mac1032763 were great additions to the lineup a few months back, it's a looks like @bublyman , @hurbinator and @Ropere are fitting in just fine as Snails also.

@Fades_AC , I hope we didn't lose you after a couple weeks, give it time, Snail will grow on you.

See you at the car show,
-Niagara

This is Science World, located in False Creek, Vancouver, also the site for Expo '86. Fun fact: While I was editing the livery I downloaded for the Gordini I noticed it already had 'Snail' labels on it. It had been posted by @n38824jr who raced in Snail Sep, 2018 to Aug, 2020. I added the windshield banner. Small world.

Hard to believe we've only got 1 more race day before we close out 2024.

My Car-Show pic takes me to a scape I've already used back in May or June to commemorate the kickoff of Euro 2024 in Germany, The Brandenburg Gate. Built in 1791, it's often used as a site of significant German events. It was closed off when the Berlin wall went up right beside it and served as a border between East and West Berlin.

It was reopened on December 22nd, 1989 during German reunification.

See you Sunday.

We've been having some fun racing the Radical, so I believe it's fitting to share the video of the recent Radical Championship, featuring the latest Sim Racer to real world driver, Suellio Almeida. Its a very entertaining video.

Suellio is originally from Brazil, but lives in Montreal now. Really nice guy.
