Let the Car Show and Practicing begin!

Did you check the FUD?

The FUD (Frequently Used Documents) has since been replaced by the OLR.
There is a section for SNAIL Tire Regulations

The formula part is blocked out. @Dragonwhisky will need to post it.

This is a direct link to the current, in use tire formula sheet in SNAIL Combo History that @JamCar0ne linked to earlier.

This link is the portal to all things SNAIL.
The link in this post in the SNAIL OLR P & G should now load the correct google sheet for tire regulations. Someone please let me know if it does not. Thanks.

I wonder why I try sometimes to race the Nations Cup. I had the opportunity today due to school being out due to cold weather. However, somebody crashed into the back of me during qualifying and promptly placed me at number 16 for the race. It amazes me how there is no sense of sportsmanship. No apologies, no nothing.

I was looking for something by a marina for my car show and wound up in Hawaii.

@JamCar0ne, thank you for putting together another Donkey Kong Challenge for this week. Finally, a rally race in SNAIL!

@Villy31, thanks for posting about this today, I didn't pay enough attention and just figured it was going to be on the weekend. I plan on running at 6 EST now. Any rain during your race?

Good luck…no weather in either of the races I did. Very discouraging how others drive. I would gladly pay a subscription or something to have clean competitive racing.

Between the Ford Focus time trial I had been slacking on, @JamCar0ne's Donkey Kong Challenge, the Nations Cup, and the new combo announcements there was a lot to do yesterday when I logged on. I even managed to get in some practice at Mount Panorama with the MPC gang for a few rounds. What I didn't do was review any replays, so I'll have at least two today.

We're in the staging lanes with a grid of 7 again. Motors revvin'. Horns blarin'.

1000005696.jpg

Lap 1: @Oshawa-Joe has pole position and is first to enter turn 1, myself and @racingchamp30 in 2nd and 3rd.

1000005697.jpg

I take the lead around turn 2 and never look back. After Joe applied so much pressure at Eiger, I knew I better put my head down and focus. Here's another group shot going around turn 7.

1000005698.jpg

Lap 2: Turn 5 and @racingchamp30 and @Ropere chasing down @TexHill, who's in 4th.

1000005700.jpg

Lap 3: @cesarr64 catches up to @Ropere just as lap 3 begins.

1000005701.jpg

@TexHill's car is Up in Smoke it appears... He hits some green here and ends up parking on the grass for a moment... :D

1000005702.jpg

Lap 4: @JamCar0ne in 3rd place, rounding T13.

1000005703.jpg

Lap 6: @Oshawa-Joe never fell back too far but I'm still in the lead as we come around T12.

1000005704.jpg

Lap 7: There are three groups of two at this point, but the closest battle is shown here with @Ropere and @TexHill.

Lap 8: Joe had the fastest lap as a consolation prize all the way up to the very end when I slipped in a .047 better time. Sorry Joe!

This past Sunday was a good night for me! Somehow, during the last two combos I managed to run better times than I had ever ran in practice. Possibly because I ran out of my usual Boston Lager that night and started drinking Labatt Blue - Canadian Pilsner. I'm starting to think there's something in the water up there that makes you guys so fast, lol.

First off, just want to say this week's Donkey Kong Challenge is a blast! Great combo! I'm at the top of the SNAIL leaderboard for now, come and get me.

Are those tacos? Yes, they are! @arethosetacos joins us and now we have a group of 8.

1000005705.jpg

Lap 1: Group shot of us going around T2. Tacos in the lead.

1000005706.jpg

Mr. Donkey Kong himself, @JamCar0ne is in 1st and @TexHill in 2nd at T7.

1000005707.jpg

A few seconds later @racingchamp30, @cesarr64, and @Oshawa-Joe three wide exiting T7. Champ carries enough momentum to not only win this battle but also pass me in the straight ahead, for 4th.

1000005708.jpg

@TexHill in T12 just behind JamCar. The rest of the field close behind.

1000005710.jpg

Lap 2: @arethosetacos, @racingchamp30 and myself are three wide heading into turn 1.

1000005711.jpg

@Oshawa-Joe gets by Tacos and I for 4th before turn 7. He'll be in 3rd by turn 12. @cesarr64 has caught up as well.

1000005712.jpg

Lap 4: Champ and I in turn 3. @TexHill and Joe in the background.

1000005713.jpg

Following behind Champ and I, @cesarr64 and @arethosetacos are having a battle of their own.

1000005714.jpg

@Oshawa-Joe and @TexHill both run wide leaving turn 5 and hit the wall. Tex takes a moment to recover, and Joe waits for him around the bend to give concession. They'll fall back 2 positions each as Champ and I go by.

1000005715.jpg

Lap 7: @JamCar0ne has been in the lead since the first lap and eventually brings home the win. It's too blurry to see, but I'm just a speck in the distance coming out of turn 6.

Seriously, go and try the DK Challenge!

I've been pretty busy the last few days so here goes.

@JamCar0ne Thanks for the $hell ! I made it to the top 10 but its probably due to the fact that the leaderboard isn't very full to begin with haha. I'm not sure I'll be able to repeat it with your next challenge as I struggle with rally physics but I'll have a go for sure. Thank you for setting this up, it gives us a reason to go back and try those driving missions again.

@A_Higher_Place Wild pick, I like it. This track was on my list the last times I've won a prize because it wasn't used recently.
@radliffracing I also like your pick, picking cars that were not used is my forte. It sounds like total crap though, not your fault.

My entry to the carshow.

@Worst_Driver I appreciate the kind words, but I believe the credit is due to @Longball as this week's 'Prize C' pick was his.

@Villy31 thanks for the heads up on the sunny weather for yesterday's Nations Cup. I actually had a good clean racing experience during my 6:00 EST slot. I'm in the GT2 class, B rated driver, and came in 6th place. I did have one nefarious opponent try to pit maneuver me as I passed in the final straight but thankfully, he was a split second too late. :P. The next Nations Cup event is this Saturday.

Eight drivers again and it's time to try out this Audi R8! Here we go back to Switzerland.

1000005716.jpg

Lap 1: @JamCar0ne leads us through turn 1, @racingchamp30 is already getting by me for 2nd. I'm going backwards for a minute as @Oshawa-Joe passes in T5, and @arethosetacos overtakes in the tunnel before T6.

1000005717.jpg

Those four break off into the lead pack and I'll be playing catch up the best I can. Turn 14 and we're all still in frame for now.

1000005718.jpg

Lap 2: The distance between them is the same but the distance to me is growing. Turn 10, just before the two tunnels in the back straight.

1000005719.jpg

Lap 3: @TexHill in the Bubba Gump car. He's running alongside the stream here just like Forrest is there in the back window. I tried to get a view of the waterfalls in this frame (top left), but they just don't look the same as they do in VR.

1000005720.jpg

Lap 4: @Ropere and @TexHill in turn 15.

1000005721.jpg

@cesarr64 is looking sharp for the crowd in his Mobil 1 / 7-11 livery!

1000005722.jpg

Lap 8: @arethosetacos getting sideways around T4. I think the panning 3 option makes it easier to see the drifts whereas before it always just looked like they were heading straight. One of the tips I've been using from @IceWarden's post Joe shared.

1000005723.jpg

Lap 10: @JamCar0ne, @racingchamp30, and @Oshawa-Joe in the final moments of the race.

@Buffalo_DRD I forgot to mention earlier that was another excellent write up about the Michelin Pilot Cup series! Thank you, and you're welcome for the screen shots of the results. Glad I could help. While I'm at it today, I'm just going to go ahead and get this last recap posted.

Tacos had to go and we're back to the 7 racers we started out with.

1000005724.jpg

Lap 1: I get a good run off the line and move from 4th to 2nd by the end of turn 1. @cesarr64 holds on to the lead for the climb up the hill but I overtake in turn 2.

1000005725.jpg

Lucky for me because chaos erupts just behind and I'm the only one not affected. I'll have an empty rear view mirror when I head down the back straight.

1000005726.jpg

@TexHill and @racingchamp30 entering turn 10, crossing over the stream.

1000005727.jpg

Lap 3: @Ropere, @cesarr64, and @Oshawa-Joe roaring past a lone photographer.

1000005728.jpg

Lap 4: @TexHill and @Oshawa-Joe just before Joe passes for P4.

1000005729.jpg

Lap 8: @JamCar0ne broke away from the rest of the group and is entering turn 1 as I'm exiting. I'll keep the gap open til the end and secure another gold medal for the night. JamCar and I are very close in standings for the month which makes our races that much more interesting. There's just a 2-point difference and we're tied for average finishes at 3.11. Excited to see if I can finish in 2nd overall for January.

Ok, I'm done blowing up the forum for today! I'll see y'all in the practice lobbies/race night.
