The Snail Sunday Scoring Sheets for July 24 have been prepared.

Remember to fill in the fastest lap for each race.

All hosts should start tonight's racing at the scheduled time. The only reason to hold the start is to allow someone who was already in the lobby their three minutes to return or to deal with network issues according to the OLR.

Important Announcement

In GT7 there is a feature that allows you to select a name that will display to others. SNAIL uses PSN IDs and GTPlanet IDs to recognize our members. In particular the PSN ID is what appears on the scoresheet. With this in mind, all drivers must display their PSN ID when they enter a Sunday night lobby. This is to facilitate ease of recognition by the scorekeeper and will help to insure that scores are entered accurately. If you are trying to enter and race while using a name other than your PSN ID that you registered with in SNAIL, you will not be allowed to race while using that name.

Cars have been added to the eligible list for selection. Any prize car from the menu books is now available for selection. Menu books that have three cars as possible to win were not added at this time as there is no guarantee that everyone would have them as a prize. Most of these cars were already available but there are a few new additions.

  3. Phlano_099 -------- voted to eliminate Round 3
  4. JAV-31 ------------ voted to eliminate Round 1
  5. RacingChamp30 ----- voted to eliminate Round 3
  6. TURBO91stdCIVIC --- voted to eliminate Round 3
  7. EvoSpec10 --------- voted to eliminate Round 1
Division 3
  1. ruggermole -------- voted to eliminate Round 1 - 85.1 (102.12 for Prize B)
  2. Track_King47 ------ voted to eliminate Round 1
  3. Malizaghi --------- voted to eliminate Round 1
  4. Skills_19657 ------ voted to eliminate Round 3
  5. Flyingdisc315 ----- voted to eliminate Round 2
  6. cesarr64 ---------- voted to eliminate Round 2
The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - Abarth 500 '09 (SH) at Tsukuba Circuit - S01 Afternoon (12 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @IceWarden wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.
PLEASE NOTE: Since @IceWarden has already won Prize A this season, he is ineligible to win it again until next season. This means that unless he loses Prize A due to incident reviews, any driver who competed in Division 2 on Sunday night will have the opportunity to suggest an entirely new car and track combo. I recommend that all D2 drivers from Sunday night start TESTING combos they would like to suggest. That way, you will be ready to post a good combo when @JLBowler gives the "all clear". It's important to mention that a good combo will not have a car that hits its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in a draft). Also, please be sure to only suggest one combo. Any driver who suggests more than one combo will automatically be ineligible to suggest any combos at all. Please don't let that happen to you. Only suggest ONE combo (but not until IceWarden is confirmed as the Prize A winner).

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - Chevrolet Corvette C7 Gr.3 (RH) at Daytona International Speedway - Road Course - S05 Night (8 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @ruggermole gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @Timlour so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated, so picking cars and/or tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more important is that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, any car you select must not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in a draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to choose the Integra Type R as your car selection, post "Honda Integra Type R (DC2) '98". If you want to select Monza for your track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". Being specific helps us to update the lineup accurately and also helps avoid any confusion among the drivers. Also, please be sure to list the HP and Weight (LBS) of any car you select. For track selections, include the time of day (e.g: 09:00 Clear) or else it will be left to default.

@IceWarden is a repeat prize winner so if you raced in D2 this week, you get to make one suggestion for prize A, car and track. You must post your suggestion in this thread. You may not edit your post to change your suggestion. Please use the full track and car name as they appear in the game. Deadline to make a suggestion will be Wednesday at 3PM ET.

@ruggermole is clear to use or pass the freeze. Should he choose to use the freeze, @Timlour will be a repeat prize winner and there will have to be a suggestion process completed for prize B as well.

Those who can make a suggestion for prize A are as follows:
@Showery_thorn @Phlano099 @racingchamp30 @Turbo91stdcivic @EvoSpecX @Villy31

The majority of GT enthusiasts are upset about the lobby situation. This GT enthusiast has ALWAYS been upset about GT being in isolation as far as telemetry not being made available. Do you realize that GT is the only sim title that hasn’t offered telemetry? Well, it may be a little too little and/or a little too late …

Even sadder …
SNAIL was sponsored by Buttkicker2 for years. I purchased one (something like $120 with discount) not long after joining in 2014. In 2022, I found out how great a device it really is when I got into other sim titles. With Gran Turismo, one can only use it hooked up like a speaker. It shakes but nothing like it’s designed to do.

I doubt 95% of the GT7 players really care. I know I don’t have any use for it. I just turn my PS5 on and drive on my extremely simplified glorified folding lawn chair.
[/Q now I wouldn't mind having one of those butt kickers for the bottom of my seat.I would love that just for a bit more immersion. Lol

interested to see where this goes. It's been frustrating in the past but I've stopped using telemetry apps in other games.

I know it’s terrible. And to make you even more disappointed in the unwashed masses who can’t (or care not) afford that list of expensive equipment in your sig, the greater majority just use the controller. How bout them apples?

With that selection, we have a repeat prize winner because it seems that nobody wants to choose half the combo.

If you raced in D1, you get to suggest a track to pair with the Corvette. @Nicktune @Kgffy you have until 11:59 PM ET tonight to make a suggestion. If it's anything like last week, we will be asking for random numbers to produce options after the deadline passes with no suggestions.

Hmmm, even sadder yet. (Check my edited post). I doubt very much it’s a matter of being poor. From the cases I’m aware, it’s a matter of choice where your hobby dollar goes.
