Division 2

  1. JamCar0ne --------- voted to eliminate Round 3
  2. radliffpower ------ voted to eliminate Round 2 - Prize B
  3. arethosetacos ----- voted to eliminate Round 2
  4. Mac1032763 -------- voted to eliminate Round 3
  5. Tex_Hill ---------- voted to eliminate Round 2
  6. cesarr64 ---------- voted to eliminate Round 2
  7. Gusmcnasty -------- voted to eliminate Round 2
  8. Canoworms1 -------- did not submit a vote
The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - BMW Z4 3.0i '03 (CS) at Kyoto Driving Park Yamagiwa - S01 Sunrise (8 laps)
Therefore, the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. @bublyman wins Prize A, and gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - Subaru BRZ S '21 (CS) at Nurburgring Grand Prix Track - S01 Sunset (6 laps)
This means either the car or track will be replaced for next week's line-up. @radliffracing is the Prize B winner and they have the option to freeze the car or the track, or they can give that option to the Prize C winner. If they give the freeze away, they get to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @Noob01_lmdead - they get whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it's confirmed you don't have any penalties. Also, it's recommended you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history, to see how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember, originality is always appreciated. Although not required, picking cars and tracks we've never raced is a plus. What's more important is, you thoroughly test any combo you are considering, before making it your official selection. For example, any car you select must not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to choose the Integra Type R as your car selection, post "Honda Integra Type R (DC2) '98". If you want to select Monza for your track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". Being specific helps us to update the lineup accurately and also helps avoid any confusion among the drivers. Also, please be sure to list the HP and Weight (LBS) of any car you select. For track selections, include the Preset Weather and the Time of the Day (e.g: S01 Afternoon) or else it will be left to default. Available settings can be found under Time/Weather Settings, when creating an online Lobby, after selecting your track.

D1 data entered.

You know we're racing slow cars when combo 3 is a BRZ on CS tires just how I like it but I think we're due for a racecar or something more powerful to shake up the mix. ;)

As I said last sunday night, unfortunately I won't be able to race this sunday, march 30th. I had a 100% attendance for 2025 but the streak ends there due to a comedy show with my GF on that night. Anyway, that means that someone from D1 will need to take care of hosting, scoring and data duties. I'll be back on April 6th.

Last corner of the last lap, 1st to 5th in one shot. Slow cars always make for close racing.
Also, not the most exciting track I know but we had to run it once in GT7. It's out of our system now.

Third week of the Z4 @ Kyoto Driving Park. Didn't think it would survive three consecutive weeks but every combo dies eventually. It had a good run.

We have 8 spots left for the SNAIL test this Thursday night at 930 using the event planner at DG-EDGE. I'm going to try and change the event into a tournament using all 3 currents combos. Using half distance. The qualifying and reverse grid won't be an exact science. We just want to get guys signed up and run some half distance practice races.

MARCH 2025 STANDINGS
1742953375057.png

Week 3 of March 2025 is in the books. D1 continues to enjoy double digit grid sizes with 10 this past Sunday while D2 was at 8 drivers. That's decent participation but I know we can do a bit better. Can't make all 6 races on a Sunday? that's fine, log on for a couple if you can. A little of you is better than none of you.

I believe we're turning over all 3 cars this week. Something I don't recall ever doing in my 15 months as a Snail.

Lastly, shout-out to @Oshawa-Joe for trying to generate interest through the https://www.dg-edge.com/ website. I also encourage you to claim your profiles on that website.

Wishing you all a good week.

One full car and track combo always carries over.

Edit...I've been reminded the car in R1 is from the UCD and will probably be replaced. I think if everyone has the car, then it remains in place? @Dragonwhisky ?

2nd edit. Finally found the info.
the UCD or LCD car becomes unavailable for purchase prior to race day. If the LCD or UCD car should become unavailable for purchase before the time that the drivers list is updated for racing, the back-up car will be switched in and used.

Make that 9 spots, I can't make it.

If I am not mistaken, the Mini is a Menu car as we were all required to purchase it during the cafe missions. Therefore, it should not fall under the UCD/LCD ruling.

Although we were a little light on participants, we still had some great races. This will be my first photograph collection created and published from 1000 miles from home. Won't be long, and I'll be racing from my truck, lol. I wish.

1000006381.jpg

@JamCar0ne pulling away. With a decal like that who could ever catch him??? I thought it was an arm throwing up the metal horns when we were racing, \m/ .. I can be seen far right sliding off the track for a few seconds.

1000006382.jpg

@Gusmcnasty in the front on his first race of the night. I had a chance to practice with him alot on Sunday and he really made some improvements. He'll be some tough competition before long.

1000006383.jpg

Ah Yeah Baby! I know D1 had some Austin Powers themes too but @TexHill kept the momentum through rd 2 with a Dr. Evil Z4. @cesarr64, @JamCar0ne, @Mac1032763 and myself in a square formation behind.

1000006384.jpg

These cars only have one mirror and @TexHill's was full of chrome stripes for a while as I applied all the pressure I could muster. Gary the Snail in my backseat saying "Meow"

1000006385.jpg

@Mac1032763 and I had some good times battling it out over the course of the night.

1000006386.jpg

That blur on the bottom left is @Gusmcnasty and believe it or not he gets through this mess clean like Days of Thunder driving through the smoke.

1000006380.jpg

@arethosetacos usually catches these sideways drifts and makes it look easy but it got away from him here and I manage to squeeze past without incident.

1000006388.jpg

@CANOWORMS1 got his rig right and came in with a point to prove. He ends the night with the fastest lap on this one.

1000006389.jpg

@JamCar0ne and @arethosetacos with about a quarter second gap at the finish line.

It feels good to be able to post a recap of sorts again. I hope that y'all had as much fun as I did and wish to be back for Sunday this week. It's a shame I won't be there for @Oshawa-Joe's races on Thursday. Please take the time to sign up for it through the DG site. I believe it could be great for attendance.

Under the rule quoted above, it all becomes a matter of timing. ;)

Near as I can find, the '65 Mini is a gift car from Menu book #3, as reported here so, unless another member of the BoD says different, I'm thinking that '65 can stay in the rotation until it's voted off. If ya' got one tuned up with unremovable parts, ya' better get a stock one outta' the UCD before it leaves.

On another note; In the spirit of
Definition of Tuning Prohibited
Tuning Prohibited in SNAIL means that you are not allowed to do anything to the car that changes it's performance in any way, shape, or form.
I would ask all SNAILs to lose/remove any after market aero parts and revert aftermarket wheel sizes and offsets to their stock specs. Don't have to use stock wheels, just keep the aftermarket wheels to stock spec. While I realize BoP is supposed to negate any performance changes these parts may or may not effect, the appearance of a car or cars on the grid with different parts to the majority of other cars does not depict to others who may be watching that SNAIL truly is [Spec] racing.

You can ask @Worst_Driver what put his car outside PP limits Sunday night, forced him to drop the lobby and go take off whatever it was and boot the lobby back up. 👍 and :bowdown:to him for taking the time to do so.

A few things:

I've stopped copying styles due to all the parts you unknowingly add to the car. I've had to go back and remove a bunch.

I've modified parts, done permanent engine mods and weight reduction. I've been able to reverse most of it by buying a new engine or chassis( not 100% sure about chassis without testing again).

I've had aero parts that I feel made me faster in SNAIL Spec lobbies, and I've also seen adding a roll cage me me .5 seconds slower. I run a very basic car now.
