Wow what a blast that was - I choked on the lexus and stopped trail braking and just mashing or missing the brake -

the technique of using 4th gear in turn one and last turn into the finish line really screwed me up - Nerves got best of me and i never started going back down to 3rd gear where ai belong in those two corners - Shameful performance and lack of experience got me.

Turn 1 I am sure i went in the all green past the white line with all 4s a few times and I hit the wall in the final turn 3 times

these are out if bounds / do i need incident reports on all of those?

Review your replays, verify they were out of bounds, and then make note of the round #/race #/ lap #/time stamp(bottom left) to file an IR on yourself if you see fit. You are allowed one out of bounds per race. Replays can be found in the showcase under My Items if you saved them yourself or with the keyword (20250420d2r3r1 would be the 3rd round first race for example)

Unlike @radliffracing and his once and done take on OB, I take a different approach. In F1, arguably, the best drivers in the world are allowed 3 infractions before any penalties are awarded. In the race on Sunday in Saudi Arabia Versteppen completely cut a corner and was only given a 5" penalty and didn't have to give back the position. Here's what I think of when I go OB, in no particular order. Is this due to a one-off mistake? Am I struggling with lines? Did I gain any advantage? Did I lose? Is there anyone even close? not to avoid detection, but does it really matter. Am I in last place? I think it was @JamCar0ne who suggested a 1 or 2 second lift for a minor infraction. Au Rouge at Spa comes to mind.

Crap happens. If I'm fouled and it was an oversight rather than a sketchy move and concession is made I tend to forgive the transgressor.

13: Track Boundaries:

A:
Using walls or fences to gain an advantage is not allowed. Contacting cones, brake markers or any other movable obstacle that is outside the track surface is forbidden, whether time is gained or not and whether you have two tires on the track surface or not.

B: Two wheels (except when airborne, where the vertical projection of the car onto the track counts) must be in contact with the track surface which is defined in the SNAIL track boundaries guidelines. Simply going outside of the track boundaries is not cause for a penalty by itself. There must be an advantage gained, either distance or speed, over the line that would have needed to been taken to stay inside the track boundaries.

well thats clear as mud

So smashing dead straight into a wall stopped me - No gain advantage

the turn 1 at st crioux (will review later when I can deal with the stupidity) goin inside the white line all 4 tires UNINTENTIONALLY still may have helped me gain tens or hundreds of a second and I was alone not passing anyone - this needs to have an incident report

Sori for the ignorance- But wish to play fair

1x is ok if not being done intentionally or used to gain time or to pass someone- any further occurance needs a full no glove prostate exam -

Take off the gloves @radliff😂

Correct? Much like some cannot define a woman I am unable to determine a penalty at this time without being a track professional 😃

Would trackmaster please clarify - Not a english professor so having issues determining English

I found a little free time this afternoon and put together a few group pictures and close ups from our great racing last night. @The_Antman_ is fitting right in with a gold medal on his very first race at SNAIL. On a difficult combo I might add. Congratulations and welcome to Sunday nights!

R1R1: My internet took a 20-minute break just before the night began, which left 7 drivers on grid. @racingchamp30 takes an early lead with @Mac1032763 and @JamCar0ne rounding off the top 3.

1000006772.jpg

This is what showing up for your first race and taking home a gold medal looks like! Great job @The_Antman_!

1000006773.jpg

R1R2: I'm back in action and leading the pack into T1. This won't last long, @JamCar0ne takes the lead after I take a visit to the guardrail later.

1000006774.jpg

@JamCar0ne for the win!

1000006776.jpg

R2R1: @TexHill commented on how clean we all were on the first turn here and I have to agree. It was a great job from everyone involved. Three wide with myself, @arethosetacos, and @TexHill.

1000006777.jpg

@arethosetacos takes the checkered flag!

1000006778.jpg

R2R2: @TexHill looking sharp with the chrome decal livery. Everybody else in a neat little row from @racingchamp30 back.

1000006779.jpg

@racingchamp30 and @CANOWORMS1 had a great race and will finish in 1st and 2nd.

1000006780.jpg

R3R1: Down to 7 for the final round and @CANOWORMS1 takes an early lead.

1000006781.jpg

@Mac1032763 put in some serious work and laughs all the way to the bank with this win! I particularly like this livery.

1000006782.jpg

Peace and Love and FIREBALLS! @arethosetacos spittin' flames in the Woodstock livery. This car is a pleasure for the senses complete with monster truck sounds, fireworks, and massive g forces.

1000006783.jpg

R3R2: Our last group photo of the night. I'm leading the pack after my series of monumental mistakes near the end of the last race.

1000006785.jpg

I'm pretty proud of the way this livery came out. Tried to capture the essence of a sunset over the ocean.

Final lap and I'm still pushing it hard. Wreckless, considering the lead I've built up, but I couldn't help it. There's been times where this has bit me where the sun don't shine, but not tonight as I come away with the gold medal and the fastest lap (new personal best) on the final race of the night.

All in all, it was another fun night, and I'm glad to have been able to attend! Please take the time to check out @TexHill's Endurance Race thread. The strategy involved with the longer duration and accelerated tire wear / fuel consumption makes for an interesting challenge!

I wouldn't necessarily report this unless it's given you an advantage in a battle or intentionally repeatedly.
For example, there may be some cases where some over/understeer led to going OOB that I don't self report or report others for

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - Alfa Romeo 4C '14 (CS) at Grand Valley South - S03 Afternoon (11 laps)
Therefore, the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. @Dragonwhisky wins Prize A, and gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - Lexus SC430 GT500 '08 (RM) at Circuit de Sainte-Croix B - C01 Sunrise (8 laps)
This means either the car or track will be replaced for next week's line-up. @Mac1032763 is the Prize B winner and they have the option to freeze the car or the track, or they can give that option to the Prize C winner. If they give the freeze away, they get to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @Noob01_lmdead - they get whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it's confirmed you don't have any penalties.
  • It is recommended you visit SNAIL combo history, along with other data on our car and track history, to review how many times we've raced each car and/or track.
  • Please remember, originality is always appreciated. Although not required, picking cars and tracks we've never raced is a plus.
  • What's more important is, you thoroughly test any combo you are considering, before making it your official selection.
    • For example, any car you select must not hit its rev limiter, either hard1 or soft2, at any point during a race, even in the draft.

IMPORTANT:
  • When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting.
    • For example, if you want to choose the Integra Type R as your car selection, post "Honda Integra Type R (DC2) '98".
    • If you want to select Monza for your track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza".
    • Being specific helps us to update the lineup accurately and also helps avoid any confusion among the drivers.
  • Please be sure to list the HP and Weight (LBS) of any car you select.
  • For track selections, include the Preset Weather and the Time of the Day (e.g.: S01 Afternoon) or it will be set to default.
    • Available settings can be found under Time/Weather Settings, when creating an online Lobby, after selecting your track.

Car Selection Guidelines
See Section 3 of the SNAIL OLR, Policies and Guidelines.

Track Selection Guidelines
See Section 3.1 of the SNAIL OLR, Policies and Guidelines

1Hitting the "hard" limit causes the RPMs to "bounce" and reduces torque and speed.
2Hitting the "soft" limit ceases all acceleration potential. Meaning, you're not going to go any faster.
