It's soooooo cuteee
I took the picture from my phone from the monitor.
I say we nullify @SAMHAIN85 from racing last night because he had 1 extra pony than the rest of us!
Oh my I had enough of my little pony for one week...I just had a birthday party for my 3 year old daughter and the theme was my little pony
I'm totally cool with something like that. Shes 3 and its a kids show.
But if you were to read:
birthday party for my 30 year old son and the theme was my little pony
you start to wonder about things.
@TomMang_68 yeah I'm well aware of this Brony phenomenon. Its really frightening. Whatever floats your boat I guess
See how long you can last.
And the Stern show sent their crew out for some fun. Warning: language
Edit: Heres the part where I found out it was on my car. Oy vey

And the preview picture looked so promising.

I dont know how you create that and then say to yourself "you know what would really tie this livery all together? A pinkie pie pony decal"
PSA: Check liveries before using them on race night
WWD3 Throwdown
Some tight racing last night in D3.
Running pretty close at the front with one lap to go...

And very close right up to the finish! @TomMang_68 takes the win from @Kgffy ; Duc barely hangs on to third from @Herimopp89 .

Round 2, field is still together half way thru.

Hmmm, a recurring theme here with this @TomMang_68 guy leading a charge again.

Round 3 saw @Raw10_2u lead a thrilling couple of laps in front of @JLBowler , @Herimopp89 and Duc.

Raw took the win with that last race really close. Until it wasn't:

I got distracted by a cute looking Spaniard selling lemonade in the stands. Or something equally ridiculous happened.
Fun racing all night in D3 with a healthy sized field!
I think it's a bad thing that I've learned how to read in phone font. That was some fun and intense racing,I thought I was doomed with all 3 of you taking turns nipping at my heels!
New drivers @TTTtothetop @Ryan Kirk great racing with you. There will always be some contact during our races, some is incidental, some is accidental,if you experienced any contact that affected you and your enjoyment,we have an IR system in place.File the IR's and let the stewards make the call. The majority of our league strives to race clean, and respectful races, and put in time practicing to reduce the possibility of these type incidents.Time and practice will provide you with a better experience, and all of SNAIL is here to help make that happen!

Yeah I read about the IR,s in the rules and guidelines and I think that's cool that that's in place, I didn't really experience anything dirty there was a lot of aggressive driving but nothing dirty I had a blast, hey is there somewhere I can look to check out next week's combo so I can practice upThat was some fun and intense racing,I thought I was doomed with all 3 of you taking turns nipping at my heels!

I personally think that maybe a driver or two were placed in D3 that should have maybe been down in D4 and I understand that D4 has been overloaded with new drivers this month and the intentions were to move a few new comers up to relieve the pressure for D4 but with some of these drivers being new to league racing in general and snail being super competitive they may have been overloaded with how fast D3 is compared to them just remember guys snail is growing and I hope to see it keep growing for some of the new guys who are 4 to 6 seconds off the pace just keep your head up at the end of each month (correct me if I'm wrong) the BoD revises the season and some drivers get promoted while others get demoted and it's not because of performance it's to make the racing closer with said drivers skill level. being new in D3 not knowing how snail is can get overwhelming and if everyone can help out the newer guys and continue to make clean passes concede if they bump someone off track or even a private message about what happened and what to do next time from one of the seasoned guys it could go a long way with the new drivers and keep them coming back every Sunday. That's just my take on the situations iv heard about and hopefully a little direction for the future I know being in D4 iv tried to make everyone welcome answer any questions same as @Nick Cannella has and explain a situation if either of us see it bc we cant lose sight of the end goal of gaining members not losing them
I think this is an excellent idea. As a new comer it took a couple of weeks racing and reading the regs to get a handle on things. Snail league is very good and has been very welcoming. I must be one of the oldest drivers here so "old and slow" fits my description. I spend most of my time having a good time and staying out of the way. I would welcome a rookie division and would help with hosting, data collection or what ever. Thanks Nick for your thoughts.Has the BOD ever considered a "Rookie" division for new comers? This league is outstanding, but can be and become very overwhelming for some. It takes practice, racing and time to get the "lay of the land" and how all of this works, and that's just the racing part. Throw in some duties, and I can see where it may get very daunting for some.
The reason I ask about a "Rookie" league is simple. Being a D4 guy for my entire Snail career so far (9 months) I have seen countless drivers complete the pre-work, be assigned to D4 (or any other division) race maybe 1, 2 or 3 weeks, never to be seen or heard from again. I can think of at least 6 D4 members who fit the previously described criteria in my 9 months.
I would envision a "Rookie" division for all new members (who have not been previously a part of Snail), no matter how fast they are, to learn how to race in this league. There is a lot to remember, and if you don't have someone to take you under their wing (@stelephant, thank you!) to explain how everything works, it can be very confusing. This may be adding to a drivers frustration level to where they feel the need not to return.
The "Rookie" division could have a full time manager and steward assigned (either permanently or on a rotating basis) who would not necessarily race, but host the races, watch the races, offer up constructive race criticism and feedback to newer drivers, teach and guide them on how to host, how to manage the division, how to score-keep, perform data tasks and texting. From there, I would see the Rookie manager and steward then offering up promotion suggestions to the BOD for placement the following season.
Just a few thoughts that came to my head as I was reading the past few posts...
@Rick Bohart, I have enjoyed racing with you over the last several weeks, and you are holding your own very well, I might add.I think this is an excellent idea. I feel the hardest part was when the grid would get reversed and alot of the faster guys where not being as patient as one might think they should be. Causing incedents that could be avoided. When i got bumped i was already in the grass. So i understood that was kinda my fault to.That was some fun and intense racing,I thought I was doomed with all 3 of you taking turns nipping at my heels!

To The Bottom!!Tonight the SNAIL Endurance Series will be heading to Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit in the Jaguar F-Type (Gr. 4). If you'd like to join the 90-minute race at 9:00 EST, head over to our dedicated thread.
Just offering up ideas guys. I know most of you have been at this way longer than me.
I assumed D4 was the rookie division.A rookie division or newcomer division was discussed at one time. It didn't gain much traction due mainly to the facts that the division would be very small (a couple of drivers a week at most). This division would also put drivers of very different skill levels together which would not promote close racing which wouldn't do much to prepare someone for their assigned division. The real benefit to a rookie division would be to acclimate a new driver to the rules and regulations of SNAIL. This could also be accomplished by attending Thursday night practice. The division manager should also be helping out new drivers on race night.
This concept will not work unless someone or a group of someones are willing to give up their chance to race on a Sunday night and host the room for the rookies.
Without a rookie division, all new drivers are placed in a division with seasoned drivers. These seasoned drivers could probably do a better job of helping to get a new driver acclimated to the way things are done. This was much easier with in game voice chat which is now gone.
SNAIL has always had drivers that show up, race once, and are never heard from again. It's not something new. We have had drivers run the time trial, get their division placement and never show up to race. I don't know if they didn't like where they were placed or what but it seems odd to put in the effort to read what we require, run the time trial, and then never even race.
I wrote this in between doing things at work so it may not flow the way I want but I would like to keep the discussion going as I have read some good ideas. If the execution can be worked out, there may be some potential here.
I assumed D4 was the rookie division.
Lol yes mixed in with a few old timers hahahaha been racing since April and when d4 started been there ever since it's not really a rookie division it's more like aliens in training division just from last year running the time trial to this year I dropped 3 seconds off my time, met some really cool guys in 1 off races and practices, and have improved my racing over time I still have a long way to go seeing how this is the first racing game were I try not using guardrails as a racing line lolI assumed D4 was the rookie division.

Ideas are good and welcome. It's just a matter of sorting out the logistics of any idea to see if the juice is worth the squeeze.
We also tried at one point having a race craft workshop for those that reached a certain level of probation through IRs. We even made it a requirement to work your way off probation. I think we may have conducted two of these and then it became almost impossible to get enough drivers to show up to make it worthwhile. It was a good idea and a really informative format but the logistics of getting enough drivers that were on probation together at the same time just made it a pain to execute.
