I will 100% be there this week. Get ready D2, Whitey is back and ready to drop the hammer. Also watch your mirrors D1. I have found something I was doing wrong and have improved my exit speed.

Let's hear it. I think it's cool that you learned your exit speed was an issue. So what were you doing, and what are you doing different?
I've been working on entries and mid corner on higher speed corners like R130 (?) at Suzuka. I've found I can go lighter on the brakes and/or reduce brake sensitivity depending on car.

Well, after some review of gt academy laps, I realized I was arcing into turns too wide. I started throwing the car into the turns at a more shallow angle and it really helps set the car and is key to linking corners. Ive improved my lap times immensely and have been putting better laps up since. I am averaging better laps than my best lap previously.

Turns out, smooth is slow in GT6. As an actual race car driver, I tend to be smooth as possible which is good in real life. In gt6, throwing the car into turns from a shallow angle keeps speed up and the exit is blistering. Not realistic but oh well.

I cannot throw the car into turns. More of an I won't, than an I can't. Try throwing your car into a turn and see what happens. (That was a rhetorical statement) Hard to believe a simulator would allow bad habits to develop via bad physics. I bet you don't jerk the wheel entering a turn when on track.

There's a real vs gt6 thread in gt academy forum. They pretty much nail it on the head in there that you couldn't drive the way the top academy guys do in real life. But its about adapting to the situation that makes it a good drivers test.

I have a real problem adjusting how I naturally drive but i am also using a ds3 so its not as if im using a real sim or anything already.

I try to make it as real as possible. I use the g27 wheel and although I see others "throwing and catching" ,I can't do it lol. If I'm a bit slower yet driving smooth I'm ok with that. Most times I'm just trying to drive the car and stay on track. Recently I changed the wheel settings from 900° down to 720°(pretty sure) and have made much better times all around

How you can change wheel setting from 900 down??

I just can't bring myself to drive like that. I have noticed STIGS does it. I personally don't think there us a significant gain in a race. However, I can see it's an advantage for TTs where a tenth or two can be the difference in "making it to the next round" or whatever they do for GT Academy.

Mcqueen,where have you been.....lol
For the g27, everytime you enter the game it defaults to 900. If you hold.the middle two buttons down on the shifter while pressing either triangle, circle, square or x (so hold 3 buttons)it will change the degrees or rotation. I believe triangle is 900. I hold the middle 2buttons down while pressing circle(works best for me). I think x is 240 so square might be 6 hundred and something degrees. Try them all and see what works for you

Turns out I use 620 and my numbers were way off. Haha

Its all about adapting to the situation at hand. I don't have a problem driving an awkward style in a game, it won't affect my real world driving style at all. If it does, Im sure Mr. Bill Fisher would have no problem repremanding me and correcting my style to help our team.

As a side note, our Lemons team has 3 GT6 drivers now so is a Nismo GT Academy lite as it were. We've got team captain @iamsupernasty, driver @wanderlust and myself along with others. We should get some support from Kaz, lol.

Lol. I have raced with Nasty & Wander several times. It's been awhilw though. Next time you "see" them; ask if they would be interested in racing with us. If you would....

For Gold prize today I will give y'all plenty of prep time. We're taking R2 from today to Nurb GP/F. So 545pp FR @ GP/F.

I'll try to get Silver n Bronze winners out tonight.
