PSN bans are very unlikely unless he is on a CFW PS3. Reset your PS3 system setting and see if you can login in. I had a similar situation the other day.

Network settings carry over onto every account on the PS3 right?

Yeah that's really strange, I figured network settings carried over for every account you make on the PS3, but maybe not since it sounds like it was a network setting problem now...

What I'd do is check how you have it set up on the other account, then copy those settings to MCR-Max.

yea but my internet is working as i can update games and browse the internet, but i cant connect to psn. also i have the same settings on my other account. could it have something to do with that its a japanese account?
