Not much info though. đź‘Ž

I really like the looks:tup:

I also think the current Sonata is criminal overlooked in the budget semi-luxury saloon sector. And looking like an Accord is no bad thing...

I'm up! I'm up!

I really didn't have the Coupé (and some of those concepts) in mind when I wrote that. But the new Sonata doesn't look good, surely that car can't be designed by someone with any degree of art - it more looks like Hyundai just took a casual person on the street and asked him/her to draw them a car. That's how awful it looks. The interior looks like it was designed a decade ago, and the plastic even looks cheap! In short: The car lacks refinement.

I'm curious why they haven't mentioned the Tiburon/Tuscani/Coupe cabriolet for a while. Was it shelved?

Nope, I think it's being ready to be uveiled at some motor show. I'll try to find out which one for 'ya.

Wow. I hope the Kia Optima looks this good.
Yes, indeed. I myself am surprised how good this look's for a Sonata, Doug isn't this the entry level Hyundai? Or am I completely off?

Looks mean, the headlights make it look more pissed off, but the backend screams accord, it looks like it tooks some styling cues of other vehicles.

The cheapest Hyundai in US is the Accent, than Elantra and than Sonata.

In Europe lineup starts with Getz, the rest is the same, except some names.

It's 5:41 AM... I should get to bed.

Hmm. A euro Honda Accord in the front, a US Accord in the back, and it doesn't look weird in the process. Kudos to Hyundai on that. But is the US Elantra actually getting the nav system shown in the less-than-unique but not-at-all-bad interior shots?

I once heard that there will be an optional engine with more than 200 hp, but that's highly unlikely for a mid-size sedan, let alone a Korean one.

I think the outside looks like a watered down Accord crossed with an Impala with a front end that looks like a very refined and modern Excel (I mean, look at the grille and headlights, that is definitely reminiscent of a last gen-Excel don't you think?)

The inside is another story. It looks like the screen on the dash is some kind of rear backup system when you put the car in Reverse. The radio seems to surround it as well (I can see Car & Driver griping about the small radio controls already!) The gauges look out of place for a car that is supposed to look more refined than sporty.

Overall, I really like it. It doesn't even look like a Hyundai from behind. Great job on the design! đź‘Ť :D đź‘Ť

The entry-level Hyundai is the Accent, followed by the Elantra. Hyundai wants you to believe this is a midsize, sort of an Accord or Camry competitor, but it's not, in vehicle or engine size. That doesn't mean it isn't a viable alternative to those models, but it's not in the same league.

I think the Atoz or Amica are the entry level Hyundais.

I, an American member, was asked the question by another North American member. So not surprisingly, I didn't mention European and Asian models which wouldn't be sold in the Americas in ten zillion years.

I don't understand why you people feel that two American members discussing the auto market need to mention other world markets. This is about the seventy-fifth time it's come up.
