So I know that people are drag racing in gt5, in gt4 there was the las Vegas strip that timed you, is there a way to get precise times? Or are people just free balling it and making estimations for 1/4 mile length and just seeing who crosses the determined marker on the track first?

There is no dedicated drag racing stuff in GT5. From what I've read, they seem to measure speeds at the marker as a measure of how quick they are 👍.

Indy Road Course between corners 7 and 8 is pretty good for 1/4 mile drags.

Free ballin', though I rarely ever see a photo finish drag race so it's pretty easy to decide who won.

There is no official way to tell times, so any that you see are estimated times.

i take off at an interval of ten seconds from the clock at the top right, then when i cross im looking at it.

The most accurate way I found to get times is to start at the clock then press pause as you hit the line… obviously it only works offline but it’s a big help when tuning. Indy would be just after the hash markings to the bridge shadow for example.

It’s not as good as a proper timing/track, but if you judge the start consistently it works quite well.

I hope the powers that be take a little look at just how many drag servers there are out there… fingers crossed for DLC :D

The true 1/4 mile is a few cars AFTER the shadow, if you even care
