Jason, what do you do with the bases from cars like M2s & AutoWorld? I save a handful of them, but pitch most of them. Edit: I should clarify - This applies to loose, but most M2s I have are still on the base.

M2 bases are meh. Auto World bases are too good to throw out. Right now I'm using a few to protect some of the TLV's I have at work on my desk. The rest are in a box in my closet.

Totally agreed. Come to think of it, I don't know if I've thrown away any of the Auto World bases(I probably have only like 3). Diamond plate doesn't help with the M2 bases, and they never seem to get away from those!

P.S. I also have the white & yellow Carina by TLV? I make myself sick with it, but I really want that champagne color one, too. God, what a weird mother trucker.

They come apart real nice, if you plan on customising them.

Just saying.
The ones I have now have tiny little rivets. Looks like a pain.

On the plus side, I just noticed yesterday that they have functioning suspension. Should be easy to lower them. ;)

They also have nice metal bases. I'm not used to that, i usually gouge the plastic bases due to my clumsiness, but on the metal, the small rivets seem to come off real easy.

We'll see. I won't be buying the cars for a couple weeks (after my huge paycheck for a week long work trip, yay for 20 hours overtime) so everyone will just have to wait.

Bluebird?
I do now remember seeing it somewhere on this site before. Very interesting background. 👍
GL Flatbed looks pretty cool with the Bellett on the back of it by the way. 👍
Thanks! I think I may have to shoot that truck again with another car on the back of it. Very cool truck. Anybody got suggestion on which car to throw on the back next time?(I think I just got an idea)
Appreciate the heads up but, meh.
For some reason, I thought you were F&F fan. I'm so disappointed!

What about the Viper that's always in the shop?

By the way, two TLV Hino Fire Trucks on the blog tomorrow.

AGH. I have always always wanted that freaking thing. I can't justify spending so much dough on it right now, but I'm just starting a new work venture that will hopefully grant me quite a bit more money in my hands in the near future. I'm so eyeing this thing.

This is slowly turning into my favorite Kyosho 1/64. Plus, it's the cheapest one I've bought, ever. :D

Really? O_o I have always found the early-release Kyoshos to be a bit sloppy compared to what they are capable of today. It's a neat model but I think you need yourself one of these.

I like the color, too. That first car, looks cool, but I have no idea what it is.

Anywho, I have two cars trucks today.

Greenlight International Durastar 4400 Flatbed

This was the flatbed I expected last week. You guys may be familiar with the eBay seller turbo_tiki_collectibles. I've bought from them before. Good prices & wonderful service. 👍 I recommend this GL Durastar truck also. I wasn't planning on it, but I may entertaining a purchase of that refrigeration truck now. Quality of this truck is that good. You guys know I like TLVs, but for something like the third of TLV pricing, Greenlight Flatbed comes pretty darn close. Upon a closer look, you see the quality in parts that sets TLVs apart from the rest, but again, for the price, Greenlight's done a very nice job. 👍 *That Isuzu Bellet is 1/64 by F-Toys(not TLV).

Tomica Limited Vintage LV-23f Hino RB10 Tokyu Bus

I got this one from Playmoya for $40, shipped(they still have it!). This is the bus from where I grew up, and it is the one I've wanted all long...... Except the bumper's beige(as suspected). Front bumper also had tiny chip in it. Considering that it's public bus + the price I paid, I care very little about it. AmiAmi one was even cheaper(I think just over $30, shipped?). Hopefully that one has silver bumpers. I was getting ready to shell out a hundred bucks for one. I can't believe I actually scored two for $70. :dopey:

Edit: Off-topic, but @Spacegoat(or any F&F fans) needs to see this. I think the U.S. prices are more like $40-ish.

Great pics as always. I have never been a fan of Greenlight, but the flatbed truck is great. Would you say size is comparable to TLV? Autoworld seems to be a little closer to TLV than Greenlight in terms of details and precision. A lot of times the GL wheels are a little too clunky, and they do seem to be in a tad larger scale than TLV.

I am curious if TLV ever ventures out to do an American model. Probably no need, and it seems they are dabbling more in Germany. Trying to send vibes their way to take on a Saab and Volvo. Seems like a good fit.

F-Toys just made this in Lamborghini's 50th Anniversary:

The best part is, even though it's also a blind box like a Kyosho 1/64, you already know what's inside. How?

There is a number indicated on top of the box. That number corresponds to a model indicated at the back of the box. The only thing you don't know is what color of the model you'll end up with.

I bought this in one of the Yodobashi stores in Shinjuku, just a walk away from the hotel I stayed at. That store also has a plethora of 1:43s, especially resin models.

I would understand why it cost 1500 Yen. It's one of the early models, and is also very sought after. I found it in the 4th floor of Akiba Zone building in Akihabara. The level is filled with different kinds of toys, so you must search thoroughly for the display cabinet that sells Kyosho 1:64s. It's filled with very nice models, such as the Lamborghini Veneno, Ferrari LaFerrari, and the chase cars of other box sets.

The 1/64 scale feels legit, though I'm no expert in either the size of the real life truck, or scaling of diecast models. Considering how the F-Toys 1/64 Bellett filled out the bed, I think it may feel smaller if anything? Not sure.

I like Greenlight, but I would have to agree that they seem outclassed by AutoWorld most of the time. Johnny Lightning's long gone, but it seemed to me like: AutoWorld > Greenlight > Johnny Lightning

I like the take you have on TLV venture into gaisha("foreign cars") castings. While I also feel that Saabs & Volvos would feel scary natural to TLVs, I would love to see their take on American cars. They should totally skip all the typical American 1/64 cars, and do 80's Beretta, Astro van, '88 Taurus wagon, etc., etc. As for European cars, I'd LOVE to see them do some everyday Italian cars, British, also some French.
Let me guess, a Scion? :dopey:
I got you paranoid at this point, huh? You'll see in the next few days. :P
What about the Viper that's always in the shop?
That room's the showroom Ben, not shop! I'll do a Viper, but just for you, you #1 Viper fan you..... 👍

So after hanging onto my items for so long, that seller hasn't been responding to any of my recent messages. I've asked him on several occasions to wrap it up and invoice me.

First he tells me he's been very busy with his recently acquired job. yeah well, not to sound inconsiderate, but even if you were bus, if you were fully committed to selling those items I "committed to buying", you'd have gotten an invoice to me at a month even if you put work before it.

Now I just have the feeling anything and everything I committed to buy off him on eBay has never actually been set aside for me, and that he's had no intention of selling anything to me anymore. I got some decent stuff too.

If you hit the commit to buy button, the stuff is yours. Might want to file a claim with eBay.

I dunno, that seems like a jerk thing to do. We used to communicate a lot, he'd follow up with mistakes and even gave me free cars one time. This thing where he hangs onto my stuff was something I proposed though, so would it be strange to suddenly report him for not selling me his stuff? I didn't pay for anything yet.

My only MEGA disappointment: When in the flack is Jessie's Tercel wagon!

Edit: Oh god, no Pontiac Aztek? Why bother!?

My personal Breaking Bad vehicle ranking:

The release says more models are coming. There is no way they do this series without the Aztek. And don't forget about Skyler's Wagoneer and Gus's Volvo.

I've heard that the coveted chase car will be the turtle for Danny Trejo's head.

:P
