Dang, that is a nice Isuzu. I look forward to Jarrod's post on this one, too. đź‘Ť

Chilean Mini story is so cool, but that 3-pack.... some 3-pack that one, especially the Audi R8. Matchbox did so good on that casting.

The R8 was an easy find back in the day. The 3 packs were usually an assortment of common models, like the Hot Wheels 3-packs now. That Mini, seriously less than 10 found. Last I heard about sold for $500 from one collector to another. The consensus now is that Mattel released a small number, and stripped and repainted the others.

R8 is a memorable one for me, because when I bought the white one, it was for my nephew & I wasn't really buying these cars for myself then. It may have been right around the time I had discovered the copper HW 510. Good times.

Can you guys see these two pictures?

You can see them right? Picture of a dinosaur on a truck?
THOSE WHEELS!!!

I'll be needing this:

Stopped at Walmart this morning to get some stuff because I'm sick at the moment, checked the diecast isle and found new-ish retro cars so I picked up the James Bond Aston Martin DBS. Also picked up another Auto World Buick Gran Sport since I ruined the last one trying to wheel swap it.

And now I will attempt to order KDays cases. Wish me luck...

Speaking of cases, yesterday I had the chance of going trough half of P a case until the toy department girl told me that wasn't possible as those cars weren't accounted for in the store's stock. A white Fiat 500, a Herbie (oddly), the Paint Co. Breadbox Van, and that was pretty much what I could pry off the case. Potential $TH was the Harley Fatboy but none were to be had. I also grabbed an extra Mooneyes Bug and a black/flames Bone Shaker for doing dirty things to them.

I guess I can return that white Fiat I bought for you over the weekend. :P

Edit: KDays cases ordered. Tried to apply a 10% off coupon but it wouldn't let me since it already had free shipping. :grumpy:

Good luck on the Q Case! My Walmart finally got the new(er) Retro Entertainment & had every single car available except for the F&F Charger. The only one I need. I smelled inside job, but whatever(pegs were completely full, but no Chargers). I now want those new candy-line of Pop Culture cars, but all of the stores around me are stocking up on the really lame looking super hero vehicles instead. Good thing I am fluent in the Way of the @Cano. Otherwise, I'd be shelling out quite a few bucks in premium & shipping. :P
Is the left rear tire slipping off little bit on the CR-X? :D These cars are so small, I often don't even notice that kind of stuff until I catch the little details on the pics! Very true what you noted in the post. These cars are so true to scale(at least I think they are accurate), but also true in the sense of history. Another great article, also the pics looked even crisper than usual. đź‘Ťđź‘Ť

Can't imagine that it's a an easy thing to picture either due to the sheer size of it. @jtl46 definitely nailed though. Great job. đź‘Ť

Please resize that image.

Sorry. I didn't check the size of pictures my phone takes. Is it a bit better? I don't share many pics, if any, and don't always know the protocols.

Pro tip, don't be like me and go buying senselessly to drive up that number. Quality over quantity.

So far I've just been getting ones that catch my eye or ones that remind of my youth. Once I start getting more and more into the hobby, I'll be all over the quality and not interested in quantity. Rather have a nice collection then one I lose track of.

This is something that I need to shift into, but I'm really and honestly thinking that this year is my last as a Hot Wheels and Matchbox collector.

I'm gonna try slowing down. Good luck to both of us. :D

My small and pitiful collection. But it is growing.
That is indeed a small collection, so far....... Whatever you do, do not start looking for cars online. eBay is the biggest trap around. :nervous:

@RCKakashi14 - Damn. Don't know about $100, but that is a sweet set!

Glad you liked the post. It was fun to do. More and more I want to convey the joy of seeing old cars as they were. Any Japanese car show I go to, the stock or nearly stock just stands out more. They are always more clean, more loved, and more pure. I don't mind a little lowering, or a set of Wats from an aesthetic standpoint, but much more than that the car loses its personality. That is one of the reasons I LOVE TLV. If bosozoku is your thing, why not buy the TLV Super Silhouettes to get a sense of the scene's origins. Anyway, I will stop...

I think it is the light on the CR-X. Just took a gander and the tire is in place. Hard to know why it came out like that. It is definitely closer to the light sitting on the trailer. The rims on the CR-X do protrude a tad from the tires.
