They are not worth $50 to me, so I'll pass. Just strange how they are so much more expensive than everything else.
Well, it's like with any other collectibles. Market value. $50 indeed is steep for such casting, but before Japan Booster, I used to see them for probably something like $80+? So I bought one. I don't see myself buying the other colors though. Like you said, so much money for such a casting.

Edit: I mentioned the big M2 I picked up at Walmart today. I can't take a pic of it tonight, so here is the stock photo:

It sat at the store for weeks. Shame on the local collectors passing on this fine piece for so long. It's gonna take too much room, but I'm glad to have it in my collection.

Edit2: @R1600Turbo - I checked this thing out for so long, looking for any imperfections, or parts coming off of it. My only other transporter had rear gate hinges popped off.

Good marketing generates hype*, hype generates popularity**, popularity is what people target as an excuse a valid reason to mark up prices.***

*hype can be generated through sheer temporary heightened excitement. Initial D? OMG It beat an FD! It did the gutter trick! That panda Trueno is the 🤬! Best drift car 4ever!!!!! :D:D:D
**popularity grows from more and more people talking about it. Hey, you heard of initial D? No, but the last 4 people I bumped into were talking about it. I need to find out what the hell this is all about. (see *)
***Heyyy this one's a popular car most people can identify. Let's see some past bids...

$30? $45??? $70?! I'm banking in on this. (marks for $80). Someone out there is bound to pay this much for this.

@AOS- It's the same old game. If anything, eBay waiving listing fees adds to the trend. Sellers like myself takes advantage of it to "list" items we feel no pressure to move, and at above market value. To fuel the fire, eBay automatically relist these listings when they don't sell, for free. Oh, well.

Edit: I forgot to mention this.

I overpaid for one RLC, got a good deal on another.

First, I've been after this car for long time. Prices were going up & up last time I checked. When I caught this listing, I jumped on it. I checked on eBay later to see, they are now actually coming down in value. :( Something like $3 difference, no biggie.

Second was this car. I didn't even bother ordering this one on RLC originally, but it grew on me. I paid about how much I'd have paid on RLC, so I'm happy with this purchase.

@a6m5 it's not just the one Corolla, it's all of them. Seem several different years/versions and they are all over priced. And I thought the Civic's were bad.

Forgot to mention Auto World posted that the Release 3 stuff is shipping now, so they should be hitting stores in the next few weeks.

@R1600Turbo - Oh, I know. Like I said, 80's + 90's are all $40~$50, starting. I think what looks like 60's or 70's Corollas are the only cheap ones.

I can't wait to get the AW Mustang. Kingswood Estate, I still like the one I already have the best. I may check out other cars they have, but while I absolutely dig their quality, the models & colors has been mostly a miss for me. I'm just glad TLVs keeping me busy for now.

Speaking of TLV, I have $116 worth on my eBay watch list, just waiting for the day I find some extra money. Unfortunately I missed half a day of work last week due to sickness so that won't be anytime soon. :(

It's old news, and someone may have already reported this, but CM's Corp filed for bankruptcy back in June.

I found a brief article while looking up a database to find more info on a particular Fiat I have.

I had a feeling, but I lacked confidence.

Who wants a Dream Tomica AE86? Because it's sitting right here with free shipping.

Found some pretty awesome brand casting comparison posts between Kyoshos, TL, TLVs, MiniChamps and CM's

http://swiftysgarage.net/single/?p=8168763&t=6948640.

Was trying to get a comparison on that CM'S Diablo SV because I was skeptical about its quality.

Ack. I need money.

I do too. I just loaded up a shopping cart past $100. I'm taking my sweet ass time removing things from my cart.

Just took out a full set of the F Toys Murcielago SV. They look freakin' cool, but I was becoming quite skeptical of the headlamps popping out of its socket in one small photo I saw... the $10 tag was tempting, but I'm putting it down for the mean time.

Next was a full set on the Aoshima Cappuccinos. I wouldn't argue for $6 per, but damn me I just have to have my rally cars.

Now I just need a really good reason to not go for those ugly 1987 Sierra Rally cars which I love looking at for no apparently good reason. Somebody please talk me down.

Good thing I have a job, next year I'll try and go to a flea market that's close to where I live. I'll probably spend a lot of money there if there's good stuff and if the price for cars are right.

@AOS- I bought a case of that Classic Japanese or whatever set by F-Toys. While they look somewhere between average to near-Kyosho level in parts, biggest issue they had was with the hoods. Detailed engine bay looks amazing on them, but it was quite a chore to actually shut the hood all the way.
$13 for that highly-sought blue Kyosho Subaru Impreza 22b on Diecast-Zone. Do not miss out on this if you've been looking for one.
I've never ordered from that site, but I have browse there before. If I didn't have $100 obligation to AmiAmi, I may have spent it on here. Some really nice Kyoshos. :D

The asking price on them aren't bad. Shame the GT40 sold out. The one and only GT40 I want (don't even try to convince me on the Gulfs). I'm waiting on two replies for shipping quotes. I need to restrain myself pretty badly right now.

DaBox put up some new ones. Red and blue FDs, and the Reebok Skylines and the TAKATA NSXes....
