..................Recently a Cipsa Odd Job still in it's blister pack surfaced in Germany, of all places. It now resides in Mexico with a friend of mine after a 800-dollar transaction, which shows you how much the market for Cipsas has bottomed.

What did you mean by 'bottomed'? As in - no value now?
Also thanks for the long reply, great info - the whole Mexican HW schtick is quite fascinating.

Also, that 1:43 Corgi Beetle is absolutely awesome.

I have to confess, (because I don't like losing sleep :dopey: ) that it isn't mine but belongs to a colleague of mine - she has it atop her computer hutch and refuses to sell it, trade for it, or any kind of parting with it. I've tried multiple ploys to get it off her but she won't budge.
Reason? She isn't a collector. That's just a toy that belonged to her son (now married and moved away) and he used to play with it a lot. Damn that 'sentimental value' crap.

Ooh my god! To think I never noticed it was a boat in disguise!

Wait...what?! That's cheating!
You can't count that as a boat! :yuck:

Also scored this, to give it some Kei car company.

:)

(Again, TLV 911 and Jag, just to show 1/64 scale)

This one will definitely be getting some custom treatment.. well, a wheel swap at-least, (screw base, no rivets).

I need all of those Kei cars.

My TLV Nismo GT-R arrived on Wednesday. Same day I bought myself a new car (real life one). Was a good day indeed. :D

Excuse the awful cell phone quality...

Well, less value. The only other carded Cipsa known sold for 5,000 bucks, and while it was a much more sought after and valuable casting -a Superfine Turbine- I would have never thought that a carded Cipsa would have gone for less than 2,500-3,00 bucks. It was a slap of reality for all of us  in the end I think it's quite logical, the Superfine Turbine sold right when the Cipsa market was in full bloom, with the cars just being discovered and such, so everything was selling for stupid money. It has since found it's level, altough they are still way expensive.

Oh! I see. I thought 800 bucks was already a stunning price. They were going for $5000? Jeez.
This is what happens with the market and how it goes crazy when some collectors start driving the price up by buying them at those high prices because they must have them in the collection, then others who have it try to make a quick buck and everybody unloads their stuff on the marketplace which drives the price down.
So what's happened now is the 'parting' price for collectors has stabilised - not many want to put it on the market for less than 800 or so.
Obviously as time goes on it will get rarer and a collector who must have one in their collection will have to pay more.

Yes. Also, as you said, when the ball started rolling everyone and their mother put their Cipsas on E-bay and several left the country. Since then mexican collectors have developed a certain respect and appreciation for the cars and now it's rare to see one selling to outsiders, and on the contrary, several are returning home. Even if several great pieces are now in the hands of foreign collectors, we all expect that the upcoming finds will find a loving home in the community that has slowly developed around them. I hope, at least.

Very jealous. Online's tempting, but I don't feel like paying $15 for one. I hope I get lucky locally. :guilty:

It was the only one I've seen. It was $7.00, but well worth it. it's one of favorite buys in the last few months. I think I would have paid $15 and been happy.

Really? I have couple of the first editions, but this new one(I think from the Ghostbusters II?) do look more detailed. Great grab for $7. 👍

It is from II.

I wanted it for less, as I'm used to getting those for $3.50 or so here. But it's honestly worth eBay prices. I know Hot Wheels arent Kyosho's, but this one is damn close. Pick it up. You'll thank me.

I'm starting to think it may be the same casting as @Apok 's Corgi, as it has the same lines on the bonnet.

I had a look in the name of science and it's not the same casting. Some of the lines and details are different. Also mine has the roof up.
