So I've been fortunate enough to have someone found my listing and is enthusiastically wanting to buy up a lot of my carded items.
We agreed on a deal so far, haven't met yet, but now he's thrown in another offer:
To buy up all the carded Shelby cobras in my entire collection of Shelby Cobras. The decision is obviously up to me, but I'd like to hear your thoughts on it.
So to recap on what's special about the Cobras, it was a goal of mine to find every single release. I've more than you can remember, and it's a mix of cards and loose cars. The only reason why it's not a 100% loose collection was so there could be a preservation of cards, displaying a history of how card designs have changed over the decades. Monetarily valueless, but a neat historical sentiment.
At the same time though, I stopped pursuing this goal, so now it's a stagnant incomplete collection. Imagine you and whatever collection you got going, and now someone wants to buy only a chunk of it. What are your thoughts and would you accept/decline?
For me, I'm thinking that selling them off may render the value of selling off the entire lot to be less special, even though I'm getting a decent return on the cards themselves. I'll have even more missing releases so it feels even less complete. And 100% loose car lots generally hold less value as that (I'm guessing) is always seen as someone finding getting rid of their bucket of cars. I'm thinking I will go ahead and work something out for the purpose of de-cluttering my living space.
