After going through and posting all my loose stuff from May and June, I've decided to be lazy. Here is a group shot of EVERYTHING (on card) I've grabbed from May through this past week.

Matchbox, Hot wheels, Off-Brand, Siku & Majorette

I know, terrible pic. Deal with it for a day or two while I take some decent ones without the horrid dining room light above me.

There's this new 20 pack at my TRU with all kinds of good unreleased cars in it that I'm not sure if I want to buy. It has:
Lotus Evora recolor, Scion FR-S, '57 Chevy recolor, Bad Rattitude recolor and several more.
I know that like half of the cars I really want, but the other half I don't at all.

Luckily though, I found a three pack with an FR-S in it yesterday. :D
Expect a tampo removal, detail, and wheelswap later in the customs thread. :)

Kyosho 1:64 Toyota MR-S

And this is where I bought it. Some more Kyoshos and Aoshimas on sale...

I even have an Aoshima 1/64 RE Amemiya FD3S in green. It's very hard to find and I got it from a swapmeet recently. That display of 1/64s...

...my friend's wife lives in Japan and ships those here. And they are reasonably priced (except for red Ferraris and that Subaru BRZ set)

God, itasha used to mean Italian cars, before Japan got weird.

I found this site last night while looking for something else. They had handful of Aoshimas, I don't know if you'd be interested in them. They are overseas, but have exchange calculator right on bottom right corner of the page. Handy.

Goodness me this Boulevard 993 casting is really something.

The offset on the rear wheel is a tad much I think. Or maybe it's just mine - it's full of defects, including a defected left lamp.

Anyway, have you guys met scalpers before? I did. I met one today, and it was a horrid experience. This guy is at least 4 years younger than me and is more diehard on the business side of collecting, is so proud about how he sold some Bon Jovi item for $400, showing me that "swirly" mark on a dinky fantasy car in a 10pack is a TH. Then he's telling me that he's grabbing the recent Ghostbuster Ecto-1s from the store I (unfortunately) go to all the time, saying it's best to go at 9 in the evening and rip open the cases on your own, because he claims he's found Ecto-1s there, whereas I've given up all hope of ever finding one.

He brings a friend along who "tells off" the employees for bugging them if anything happens.

Scumbag. Utter scumbag. So not only do I or any other collectors in that area lose our chances at grabbing anything nice, he also chooses not to respect the employees working there at all. I understand that employees shouldn't bring in their own ideas to confront a customer but that is just ridiculous. I imagine it's not as bad if the employee grants you permission, but what he's doing is about as bad as walking into the warehouse and taking stuff out. Too bad for him, I found the Super 2000GT there - in the morning. Early bird takes the worm, scum.

I don't condone violence, but what if his car had four flat tires outside? I'm just kidding of course, haha, but seriously, I'm just joking.

I picked up on the gist of what this boy was like and to basically sum it up, he's the kind of guy who desperately wants recognition, but has no sense of moral.

He's not being a complete scalper, yet, he's not sharing either. He's got a confused direction with not solid motive.

If he really does go after the goodies to that extreme, he wouldn't openly tell other collectors he just met.

If you want to get all friendly the moment you see some older dude looking in the toy car section, chances are, you're wanting to make a friend or two. Real friends, no "hook a brotha up" relationships.

This guy ran up to me to ask me if I collect, and high-5's me right after confirmation. Trying to befriend someone with a similar interest? WHY DO YOU SCALP AND HOARD THEN? Every collector hates these people. He probably isn't aware how awful it is to be on the receiving end of cases being picked through before they even get put on pegs. Since I'm just a customer of the same store, I'll happily be frank with the boy, because he's clearly spoiled. He can hate me all he wants after, I'd rather make one less friend to open their eyes.

Yeah, but I think we are more considerate. When I hunted, I looked into boxes with permission, or when it was already cut open. Andy's new friend, he was telling off the store employees, and I think that is out of line.

Not defending him or anything, but not everyone who goes through boxes are scalpers.

Except that guy is. Why do you need to own 4 Ectos for? He openly told me he sells them on eBay like he's been profiting off suckers.

Going through boxes is one thing, but tearing open boxes that don't belong to you and treating it like it is is just unsightly. That's like me going through your snack drawer and claiming your favourite cookies.

Hey give it back. That doesn't belo-

WOOF WOOF WOOF Grrrrrrr

If the boxes are on a pallet on the sales floor, they're open game. Just how it is. Now, I always ask if I can open it/them so they dont think I'm so crazy collector like the guy you met. And I only take what I need.

If it's out, I don't see why an employee should refuse to open a box for you. It's merchandise meant to be sold in the end. Informing an employee should be the very least you can do as a civilized customer.

Morals and unwritten rules aside, looks like that Impala I bought a week ago is so special it's not in any database, not searchable on google images. Even the listing doesn't have a lot of hard info on it.

It just looks like an FE '59 Impala, tampos removed and custom stickers were put on it reading " Tampa Bay Florid Area Chapter - "Hot Wheels Logo (Mattel)" Collector Club".

Seems legit, but if it really was a collector car, I imagine someone would've uploaded pictures to the web... or maybe I got wrong info on it making it impossible to search with.

Get jelly or something.

All of sudden, jelly sounds so uncomfortable. :nervous:

I just submitted a request to a Toy Peddler seller I've bought from before. He had Vintage Racing blue Cuda Andy recently posted, also AMC Javelin which I didn't even know was part of the series. I don't even particularly care for Javelin, but it looked so good, I had to get it. Added few more cars, couple of them I've been wanting for sometime.

Same seller helped me out before. He didn't have a car I ordered, but came up with mint loose for about half the price. He also just told me that he has thousands of cars unlisted, so feel free to send him a want list. If you'd be interested, here are the cars he has on Toy Peddler.

Probably a local collectors club car. Not really worth as much as you think.

Yeah, I've some across a Camaro stock car that was crudely made into an Indiana regional collector club car for five bucks.
It was so ugly someone couldn't give it to me.

Oh, and speaking of scalpers, I went to TRU today and all that was hanging on the Boulevards peg (which has been empty for months and months) were two new yellow Ford GTs. I never thought I'd be so mad to see new Boulevards.

When I worked in a store that sold hot wheels I used to go through the boxes and put the treasure hunts aside for a few real collectors that came in. One day we had a big shipment come so I took all the boxes out on the shop floor and about 4 other collectors and I went through them all and we each got a treasure hunt. Stuff like that I don't have a problem with but when one person goes through the boxes and keeps everything for themselves I hate.

I go to my local shop and get to look through the boxes (it's a small shop and I know who owns it) they're fine with it, you just have to ask nicely.

There was one guy who just literally ripped open a box and plucked all the good stuff out, he had about 17 Batmobiles (Tumbler and the Gordon Murray designed one) and 15 Porsche Boxster S's. it was annoying.

I'm not ok with that.
